"Ezra!" Gwen called out as she poked her head through her older brother's door. "Wake up, we're leaving in an hour."

Her brother groaned as he turned on his lamp and checked the time. "How is it already five in the morning? I swear I set an alarm for 4:30."

"Well, you didn't so wake up." Gwen said as she walked across the hall back to her room.

She sat in front of her vanity and pulled her hair into a sleek ponytail and braid it.

Once she successfully made it smooth and completely tired her arms out, she started to apply her skincare and do some light makeup. After she went to make sure her sister woke up to get ready.

"Sadie?" Gwen said entering her younger sister's room. "Did mom wake you up?"

"Yep," Sadie said poking her head out of her bathroom. 

She looked cute, her hair was wavy, and she wore jean shorts with a grey hoodie Gwen and bought her.

"What?" Sadie asked.

"Nothing" Gwen said. "you're pretty that's all."

Sadie smiled at Gwen as walked out of room and into the kitchen to make some food. As she placed the bread into the toaster, the doorbell rang.

"Gwen!" Her mother called from upstairs. "Can you get that? Its Nonna."

"Okay!" Gwen replied as she walked to the front door, "Ciao, Tesoro. come stai?" Gwen's grandmother asked.

(Hi, Sweetheart. How are you?)

"Ciao, Nonna." Gwen said. "Sto bene, yuoi qualcosa da mangiare?"

(Hi, Grandma. I'm good. do you want something to eat?)

"No, sto bene." Her grandmother said.

(no, I'm okay)

"Nonna!" Ash called as he ran down the stairs with a single sock on.

"Oh, my. Go get ready." The twin's grandmother said. "we're leaving soon, and we have a long drive ahead of us."

After a forty-five-minute drive their Nonna dropped them off and they checked in.

They were currently waiting in line to board and Gwen was texting her friends, not knowing if the Wi-Fi would be good enough to send messages later.

Once they boarded the boat Gwen's mother showed everyone which room they will be staying in while her father left to do some work.

Her and Sadie were put in room 111.

Ezra and Asher in 112.

And their parents in 116.

 While Gwendolyn as grateful to be on a cruise and go on vacations all the time with her family, she wished it could be outside of business. Her father worked on cruise ships on occasion, so he would often leave for a few days to weeks. Normally she and her siblings would stay at home with their mother, but Gwendolyn's parents thought it would be better if they came, it made sense, school as out, a little bit more family time and fresh air.

But she was already missing home, her friends that were just in walking distance, homemade dinners, her little five-month-old cousin she loved to visit after school.

But she should enjoy the cruise while it lasted, i mean it was a simple cruise, can't change that much in her life.

It better not Gwendolyn Denise Jackson fucking hates change. 

"Are you unpacked, Sadie?" Gwendolyn said walking out the bathroom wearing a swimsuit with jean shorts over it.

"Yes," Sadie groaned, she was laying on the bed watching SpongeBob while very clearly not being unpacked. The younger girl finally peeled her eyes off the TV and looked sister up and down. "Are you going swimming already?"

"Nah," Gwen answered. "I'm going to go tan and read. Wanna come?"

"Nah," Sadie mocked. "I'm going to actually unpacked then me and Asher are gonna go to the game room."

"What about Ezra?" Gwen asked.

"He's napping." Sadie said. "Have fun."

"You too."

Gwen made her way the main deck and laid her towel on a chair before resting on it. She held her book in her and closed her eyes, she let the warm rays of sun soak into her skin as her mind wondered. 

suddenly the warmth left, and she felt colder. As if something had blocked her from the sun. She opened her eyes, she couldn't tell what it was that was blocking her light, still being momentarily blinded by the sudden brightness.

"Gwenny?"

Oh. this summer wasn't going to be boring after all
