Hmm, I wonder who? ~1
Real life
"She's the reason."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gwendolyn walked through the halls of her school, she looked at all the lockers where her and her friends would gossip, the classroom where a teacher threw bread at all the students, and the bathrooms she almost never used, to avoid the girls who would smoke.
She hated school most of the time she as actually doing it but when it was the last day, she could almost convince herself that she had only made good memories.
She as quickly snapped out of her thoughts by her best friend Mallory jumping on her back, "BOO!" Mallory shouted in Gwen's ear. "Oh, Frick, Mallory." Gwendolyn said, stumbling trying not to crash into the lockers and kids around her.
"Mal, the only person your scaring is Gwen's Otolaryngologist." Justine said walking up to the duo.
"And maybe the kids that were making out before we fell into them." Gwendolyn added.
"What the fuck is and Ota-laragistit?" Julia asked, putting an arm around Justines shoulder; randomly deciding to join the conversion.
"Otolaryngologist," Justine corrected. " And it's an ear doctor essentially."
"I'm uncomfortable with the fact you know that." Gwen commented as she let Mallory off her back.
"Aren't you supposed to be like, smart or whatever?" Mallory asked.
"I'm not that kind of smart. Justine is just a super genius." Gwen said. "you guys still coming over after school?"
"I technically couldn't miss it seeing as I'm always at your house." Justine said opening her phone and scrolling through BeReal.
"Yep," Mallory said in a perky tone. "Is Asher going to be home?"
"Ugh," Gwen groaned. "Stop flirting with my twin brother please."
"I'd rather not though." Mallory said receiving a side eye from Gwen. "What?! hotness runs in the family, babe."
"Julia?" Justine asked looking up from her own phone to see Julia frantically texting somebody.
"Oh, my goodness, Julia!" Gwen exclaimed.
"I'M SORRY, OKAY?" Julia responded.
"I can't believe you forgot to ask your mom if you could hang out, again." Mallory mumbled.
Real life
Gwen sat slouched in her chair, sitting in front of her desk as she scrolled through her phone. Sure, she should probably be doing something productive, but she went to school and hung out with her friends, so it was good enough.
She wondered if all summer break would be boring like this, rotting at home while she doomed scrolled.
This summer would suck.
But she couldn't be more wrong
Coincidently, as she scrolled through YouTube a Percy Jackson cast interview popped up, she decided to watch it, not because Walker was in it, she's simply a major Percy Jackson fan!
As she continued to watch the video the interviewer asked what led them to finding the Percy Jackson books and what made them want to audition.
Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri answered as they said they had found the books in fourth grade and simply fallen in love.
"And what about you, Walker?" The interviewer asked.
Walker looked so different from last time they spoke. his curls had more definition and length, hell he'd probably grown over a foot. but his smile stayed the same, it still had the perfect ability to light up the room, it had always been so bright and genuine. it made her happy to see that it still remained that way.
Walker sat up slightly more in his chair and took a breath before answering. "Well, I read them at a pretty young age, I think I was maybe in first or second grade?"
the interviewer slightly interrupted him to comment, "Wow, that's young."
"Yeah," Walker agreed. "I had this friend, and she was one of those insanely smart kids that learned to read like full on chapter books by kindergarten. And she always told me about how much she loved these books and eventually I was, like ' Fine, you know. I'll read them.' and now my job is literally playing a character from these books."
"It's so insane." Aryan said. "Such a full circle thing."
"You literally owe her a thank you card, Walker." Leah chuckled.
"No, honestly!" Walker said. "Because she is also the reason I auditioned."
"Oh, my gosh. How funny!" The interviewer said.
"I did theater with her once when we were like eight and I wasn't sure if I should audition, and she told me that I had the talent and shouldn't be nervous and just keep going." Walker said. "So, that's what I reminded myself when I heard about the Percy auditions. and for just my entire acting career really."
"Dude," Aryan said. "You owe her your career."
"I really do, Man" Walker agreed.
Gwendolyn sat there, staring at her phone. she couldn't believe he talked about her in an interview. Sure, he didn't say any names, but she knew it as her.
She's figured Walker forgot about their entire friendship after he got famous. Walker as good at things like that, he could always easily move on, forgive and forget. She admired Walker for that.
Gwen was almost the complete opposite.
She couldn't leave about any friendships, she couldn't forgive, she definitely couldn't forget.
Personal loyalty was her greatest trait and her fatal flaw.
