30. The Good Bad

Author's POV

Namjoon smiled and waved at the Kook that just came out of his bunny hole, I mean house. Namjoon couldn't obviously see him smile so he just gave him a small wave. To be honest Kook never felt this uncomfortable seeing someone. Probably because it was his first time to hang out with someone that wasn't one of his comfort friends.

Kook was also carrying his precious violin in a white case in his hand. Kook went to Namjoon. Namjoon immediately hugged Kook in a friendly manner. Kook's eyes widened because he freaked out really bad. Again, no one like Namjoon has hugged him either. You can just say that he is going to be experiencing new things today. Kook really didn't know what to do. Namjoon backed away and smiled again. "It's good to see you again." "U-umm y-you too.."Kook said while being nervous. Namjoon saw how uncomfortable he was. "Are you ok? you seem uncomfortable." "Oh umm, I just don't usually hang out." He said truthfully. Namjoon nodded. 'Introvert like me' Joon thought to himself. They got into the expensive BMW. Namjoon then drove to the cafe.

At the Cafe

Kook and Namjoon were sitting in one of the seats in the cafe, sipping their drinks with an awkward silence around them. "So what do you do during your free times. "Practise, paint, photography" "Oh wow cool! For me umm, I practise, write poems and create music." They were again in awkward silence. Kook wanted to make the conversation go on. "I actually have no idea what to talk about, "Kook said.

"Me too. Umm well, are you an introvert?" "I think of myself more of an ambivert like I am pretty fine in socialising when I am with friends. But I am not good on my own." "Wow, same here!" "really?" "Do you wanna see what else we have in similar?" "Sure" "Fav colour?" "It's not a colour but, black. "Wow...same." "My turn, fav composer, mine is Shostakovich, " Kook said "Hmm, mine is Tchaikovsky. But at least we both like Russian composer's" They kept talking until it was time for them to go to their second destination, the art museum.

At the art museum

Kook loved coming to places like these. The paintings always described him. To be honest he loved the curriculum of the whole creative arts for example like drama, music, visual art, poetry and more. He was writing notes in his diary about the paintings to improve his skills and understand the techniques. Paintings were something that helped him visualise feelings and emotions, something that he can't ever understand.

Currently, Kook was standing in front of a painting, as he was observing it and trying to understand all of its features, emotions and meanings. The name of the painting was 'The bad good, good bad' (a/n I know it's very confusing for a painting's name, but I like being in depth.) ' The title of the painting makes it obvious what it might be about but actually the meaning behind the artwork is way different than u might expect.

Namjoon saw Kook intensely staring into a painting. He wondered what it was since he never saw Kook so puzzled and confused looking at something. Or maybe he is always like, it's not like Namjoon has known for like 6 or 5 years.

Namjoon went to Kook and also looked at the painting with him. He was observing the painting aswell and writing down a few notes in his diary. "So. What's got you so puzzled by this painting?" Joon asked after writing down. Kook slightly flinched due to the sudden words. "huh? Oh, oh that. Oh well, I was just...trying to understand what the artist tried to show through this." "Yeah, it is a very complicated looking painting to me. There are so many expressions in here on the people's faces. But what I can say that I don't think that this painting has a pretty happy motive. Cause if you see the colours, expression, and environment of the painting, it's pretty dark." Kook totally agreed with him since what he was saying was logical and true.

Also if you're wondering about what the painting is like well let me tell. So the environment of the painting takes place in a house that has a lot of people with sad faces. In the middle, there is a guy with a very puzzled face, he is sitting on the sofa. A guy in front of him is a crying mess and is breaking down. Behind the confused man, there are two middle-aged guys. One has a devilish grin on his face while looking a the crying boy. Another guy has very a very poker or cold face while looking at the man sitting on the chair.

"What do you think about the people and what might be happening in there?" Kook asked while looking at Namjoon then back to the painting. "t I am not really sure what be happening there. But to be honest, I think the guy in the chair seems to be very careless and oblivious about what the others might be feeling. The crying person might be sad about him. Maybe be he might be his close friend. But the person in the chair as I said before is not being nice and being too careless. Also, the guys in the back don't give a good vibe. They both don't have good expressions depending on the matter."

"For me, I can see a whole story," Kook said while staring a hole into the painting. "Really? Mind telling?" "Well the first thing is that if we take the title as a hint then we can say that the things that are good for some are bad for most, the things that are bad for most are good for some. I actually don't know how to connect that context with that painting yet so don't ask me how it makes sense. The crying man has probably done something really bad to the confused person which he is feeling extremely guilty about. The confused man might have forgotten something really important or might have a disability due to the crying man. Which makes it worst for the crying man.

Now if you look close, the main characters in the painting have expressions that are not normal. The artist might take the crowd as the normality. Meaning the crowd represent what people usually might feel in situations like these. You can also see that as the people are more behind or far away the more their expressions get odder. For example the two middle-aged men behind the confused guy. You can also see that light around those two guys is a bit dark, there are more shadows on them. The artist might be telling us that the things they do are more hidden from people and are dark. Also if you pay attention to their faces, the guy who is grinning has a similar face to the guy who's crying. The person who's sitting on the sofa has a similar face as the person who is looking down at him with a cold face.

This could mean that they are their relatives or biological father. I think here is where that title context comes from. The bad good is happening for the grinning man. For him, it's good that the crying person is suffering. And the good bad depends on what context you are looking at the painting, to me it's a good bad that's happening to him. Because he probably deserves to suffer after doing those sins."

Namjoon was beyond shook from Kook's explanation of the painting. His thinking is so much different from his. He chuckled at his words. "You are really different. I have a lot to know about you." "So do I," Kook said. "wanna go see another painting?" Nam asked. "Sure"

Joon turned his back and started walking to the next painting until he slipped and was about to fall down...
