Chapter Two: Bonding and pranks

Y/N POV

Vylad helped me unpack my things in my room, then left me alone until dinner.

I was laying on my bed listening to Bring me to life, by Evanscence, when Zane came into my room.

"Sup?" I asked and Zane looked at my phone.

"I heard my favourite song, so I cam in here. Mind if I listen to it with you?" Zane asked.

"I don't mind," I said, patting the spot next to me where I was sitting on my bed with a book. "Sit down and we can watch TV or read while listening to music!"

Zane sat down and I grabbed the remote from next to my bed and turned on the huge flat screen TV.

I put on My Little Horsies, and Zane was grinning ear to ear while watching it.

"You like the show, too?!" I asked and he nodded.

"If anyone asks, tell them you forced me to watch it with you." Zane said.

"Or what?" I asked.

"I'll take your phone."

I gasped. "You wouldn't dare!"

I paused for a moment, thinking.

"Hey, Zane?" I asked.

"Yeah?"

"When will I start going to Phoenix Drop High with you, Garroth and Vylad?" I asked.

"I'll ask mom at dinner." Zane replied and we returned to watching the show until Vylad got us for dinner.

"Zane, I didn't know you liked this show." Vylad chuckled.

"I don't!" He snapped. "Y/N is making me watch it!"

"Sure." Vylad said and laughed, walking downstairs as I paused the show.

"Let's go, Zane!" I laughed and we raced downstairs.

"Awe, Zuzu!" Zianna squealed. "You're helping Y/N fit in! That's so nice of you!"

"Baby brother, Y/N, have a seat for dinner. Dad is bringing it out of the kitchen now." Garroth said as Garte carried out several plates of spaghetti and a basket of breadsticks.

"Now, dig in!" Garte said after giving everyone a plate.

"Mom, Y/N wants to know when she's going to join us at Phoenix Drop High." Zane said.

"I registered her when we got home, so Monday will be her first day!" Zianna said.

"Zane, can I have a breadstick, please?" I asked, since Zane is the closest to the breadsticks.

"Sure," Zane said and gave me a breadstick.

"Thanks!" I said.

After dinner I helped Zane wash the dishes when the doorbell rang.

"I'll get it!" I said and ran to the door.

"Hello!" I said when I opened the door. "Are you here to see someone?"

"Yes, actually. I'm here to work with Zane on a project for school." The girl said.

She had bright blue eyes, waist length straight blonde hair with a dyed blue streak, and dark purple werewolf ears with a dark purple tail.

"What's your name?" I asked.

"Lola Evile. You?" She asked.

"Y/N Ro'meave." I replied.

"Zane has a sister?" She asked.

"I was adopted by Garte and Zianna today." I said and her confusion vanished.

"Wanna help with the project?" She asked as Zane came over to the door.

"Oh, hey, Lola." Zane said.

"Is it okay if I help with your project?" I asked Zane.

He nodded and invited Lola inside.

Zane asked me to get some paint from the closet by the front door while they did the outline for their poster.

Once again, the doorbell rang.

"I'll get it!" I said, paint in hand.

I opened the door with my free hand and saw a boy with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes.

"Hello, is Garroth here? I'm Laurance, his best friend. What's your name?" The boy- Laurance- asked.

"Seriously, Laurance? Don't hit on my sister." Garroth said as he walked downstairs.

"So this is the new sister." Laurance said and looked at me with a smirk.

Cassanova, much?

I rolled my eyes and went back to the living room to give Zane and Lola the paint.

"Here ya go!" I chriped.

Vylad was reading a book on the couch with his earbuds in and I sat next to him and took one of his earbuds.

"Whatcha listening to?" I asked and popped the earbud in my own ear.

Hm... My Immortal, by Evanscence.

"You have good taste in music." I said and he burst out laughing.

"This is Zane's phone." He whispered and I laughed until I fell on the floor and Zane looked at me like I was crazy.

"He took your phone." I laughed.

Zane rolled his eyes and continued working on his project with Lola.

After they finished working Lola left and Zane and I watched more My Little Horsies in my room.

"I wanna listen to music." I said.

"M'kay. Lemme choose the song, though." Zane said and I handed him my phone.

PLAY SONG NOW!

"How can you see into my eyes, like open doors?" I sang along while Zane raided my bookshelf.

"Nah, let's listen to a different song!" Zane said and tried to take my phone.

"Nope!" I said and bolted out of my room, hiding in the room that said 'KEEP OUT! MEDITATION HAPPENING!'

I'm guessing this is Vylad's room.

"Vylad!" I whispered and he snapped out of his trance.

"What?" He asked, slightly annoyed that I'd interrupted his meditation.

"Can I hide here from Zane?"

"Sure. As long as you meditate with me." He said.

"Ugh. Fine."

Zane's POV

Where'd that cupcake go?

I'm pretty sure I saw a cupcake in the kitchen not too long ago..

"Garroth, did you take the cupcake?"

"No, ask Vylad."

"He's in his room meditating and I can't find any cupcakes, nor
Y/N anywhere."

"Isn't Y/N in her room?"

"Nah, she's hiding cuz I tried to take her phone to change the song we were listening to."

"Don't you have her number? I mean, she's our new sister, so it would only make sense that you'd have her number."

"Garroth, I'm only gonna say this once, but your a genius!"

I ran upstairs and grabbed my phone, calling Y/N.

I heard her phone ringing somewhere by mine, Vylad and Garroth's rooms.

But which room is she hiding in?

Suddenly I facepalmed.

She's hiding in Vylad's room.

It's so obvious!

That's the one place I'd never go because it seems creepy, which, coming from me, is creepy in itself.

Y/N POV

"I hear Zane!" I whisper and Vylad stands on a chair by his door with a bucket.

That's right.

We weren't meditating.

We were getting ready to prank him.

When he opens the door Vylad is gonna dump water on him, and if he tries to get to me for the prank he's gonna have to go across a room of wall tacks facing up.

Ha.

Ha.

Ha.

Get pranked, bro!

Zane opened the door and saw me sitting in a chair by the window.

By the time he noticed the hundreds of wall tacks on the floor Vylad was pouring the water over Zane's head.

I swear, Zane screams like a girl.

I guess this is what it's like to have a normal family where you don't have to worry about anything.
