Chapter 76
Taehyung giggled as he waited for Jungkook's reply but it never came. He could already picture the fumes coming out of his ears at Taehyung's text. But he loved it. He loved teasing Jungkook like that because only he could get that type of reaction out of the younger. It made him feel special for Jungkook.
After waiting for a little more time he texted goodnight to Jungkook and went to sleep. It was going to be a big day tomorrow.
------
Jungkook woke up at around ten and quickly washed up before joining his parents for breakfast.
"You seem happier than usual today. What's the occasion?" Mr. Jeon asked once Jungkook settled down.
"I am. But I can't tell, yet." He glanced at his mother and smiled brightly before returning his gaze to his bowl. Mr. Jeon looked aside at his wife but she only shrugged at him without giving any answer.
"Ookayy. So I'm the only one who doesn't know, I see." Jungkook found the statement much more hilarious than it actually was because he was very cheerful today making the others join him, too.
Once done, he excused himself from the table and went to his room to grab his wallet before heading out. He took out his phone and dropped a text for Taehyung, who was most probably still asleep.
Kookie: Meet me at the bus stop when you can.
He waited for five minutes just in case that Taehyung might be up, which was highly unlikely by the way. After the time was up he smiled and nodded to himself before quickly moving towards the mall. Jungkook looked around for a while thinking of something that would fit his stupid lover's personality, perfectly. After searching the entire area up and down Jungkook finally decided on the couple bracelets and got them packed.
He didn't feel like it was enough, though. He wanted to buy more stuff and he might have went through with his wish if only he had enough money. He was still a school going kid so he had limited amount of cash on him and bracelets had cost him a lot, already. He didn't mind that. It's just he considered that Taehyung deserved much more.
Sighing at his wallet he left the place but then remembered about the text last night and went back in to get a box of ice cream. Taehyung loved strawberry flavor and Jungkook luckily found it. Now he was totally empty. He laughed at the sorry sight of his wallet and then left the mall.
Once he was out he checked the time and saw that he had spent good two hours in there. He also found a message from Taehyung which he didn't realize when had he received since he accidentally put his phone on silent.
Jungkook opened the text and smiled brightly at the content.
Tae: I'll be there in 10.
Jungkook checked the time the text came and it was five minutes ago. He rushed over to the cafe Yoongi worked at and told him to get a separate table of two and set it up according to Jungkook's requirements. Yoongi agreed to help after which Jungkook left for the bus stop. He was just in time to see Taehyung making his way towards him.
"Why are you out of breath?" Taehyung asked as soon as he reached the spot and saw a slightly panting Jungkook.
"I was just running. In case you didn't notice I have to stay in shape." Taehyung oh-ed and let it go making Jungkook stifle his laugh before he started walking followed by Taehyung.
"So why did you want to meet up?" Taehyung thought Jungkook wanted his company during his exercise or something like that but wasn't sure.
"I had to give you something." Jungkook answered calmly before turning towards the cafe.
"Really? What? What? Tell me~"
Taehyung immediately jumped up and down as he slung his arm around Jungkook's neck wishing he was talking about ice cream. Even though he said it as a joke, it would be really sweet if Jungkook actually got him some.
Jungkook laughed softly as he let Taehyung hang around his neck and walked into the cafe. Taehyung didn't notice at first when Yoongi gestured them to sit at a table separated from the rest and set up with roses and two blue boxes. He was too focused on Jungkook at the moment but once Jungkook removed his hands, Taehyung noticed it.
"What is all this?" Jungkook made him sit by pulling out his chair and then sitting himself across Taehyung.
"This is a little gift for you." Jungkook said as he held up one box and placed it in front if Taehyung. The older was surprised since he didn't expect any such thing so he slowly picked up the wrapped package and removed the ribbon. When he took off the lid a silver bracelet came in his view.
"So pretty!" Taehyung whispered as he traced the piece of jewelry with his fingers delicately before looking up at the satisfied face of Jungkook.
"But this looks expensive, Kookie."
Jungkook just shook his head and took the bracelet out of the box as he held Taehyung's hand to put it on as he softly spoke.
"There's no such thing as expensive in love. Now don't say that ever again."
Taehyung was speechless. Jungkook didnt seem like the shy boy he had met, anymore. If his honest opinion was asked, Jungkook looked like a hot CEO to him at the moment.
"I wouldn't mind being stared at by you all day. But you should at least close your mouth. Just saying." Taehyung immediately shut his mouth close as he shook himself out of his trance.
"You just switched spots, didn't you?" Finally, he caught on. But Jungkook had made up his mind already and there was nothing Taehyung could do to change it now.
Jungkook smiled at him but not an evil one as he motioned the waiter.
"You'll love it. Trust me."
Before Taehyung could respond, a huge bowl of ice cream was placed in front of Taehyung and he just stared at it with huge eyes.
"Hooolllyyy shit! This is for me?" He forgot about their little competition and looked at the bowl with a watery mouth. He couldn't take his eyes off of it even when he spoke.
"Yup. All for you." Jungkook laughed at Taehyung's reaction and made a mental note to use ice cream against him whenever he wanted to get his agreement on anything.
Just as he was about to dig in, Taehyung caught sight of another blue box on the table similar to the one that had his bracelet. He looked back up at Jungkook to ask about it.
"What's that?" Jungkook was watching Taehyung as if he was an art so he was a little startled when the question was asked.
"What's what?" Taehyung pointed his spoon towards the box and Jungkook took it to open it.
"Oh this one's mine." He revealed a similar bracelet and put it on his own arm as he continued.
"They are couple bracelets."
Taehyung couldn't stop the tips of his ears from turning pink as did his cheeks. Up until last day he was in control but now it had shifted. Jungkook was taking control of everything and he hated to admit it but he was liking it. But his pride. His pride wouldn't let him sit it out.
"I still top bunny boy. But I gotta hand it to you. I almost lost to you for a while."
Jungkook leaned closer and this time he smirked evilly.
"You don't even know when you lost to me, Tae. And you never will."
Jungkook straightened back up and smiled again as he let the older scan him cautiously.
"Your ice cream's going to melt if you don't eat it now." And Taehyung oh-ed as he once again got distracted by his weakness for the ice cream.
