Chapter 71
"Hey Kookie?" After walking around for a while Taehyung stopped all of sudden. Jungkook stopped as he heard Taehyung's voice from behind him instead of next to him and looked back.
"Yeah." Taehyung tried to concentrate on whatever he was looking at.
"I think we are almost near the road. They seem like lights to me." Taehyung was pointing at the small dots of light that they could see from their spot and that was the only other light, one being that in their hands.
"I think you might be right, Tae." That was the confirmation Taehyung wanted as he started speed walking. Jungkook knew he would trip if Taehyung didn't watch where he was going, in dark and he tried to tell him.
"Tae, don't run. You'll fa-"
"My leeeeeeegg."
"Never mind."
Jungkook just shook his head as he went over to Taehyung to help him up. As always, Taehyung was too impatient and now he was facing the consequences.
"Can you walk?" Jungkook kneeled down to Taehyung's level when he saw the older clutching his shin.
"I thin- No! No, I can't. Shit, it hurts." Taehyung tried to move his leg but a sudden sharp pain made him stop, immediately.
Jungkook sighed at the stupidity of Taehyung before he turned his back towards him.
"Hop on." Taehyung looked up at the younger's back and his heart melted into a pile of mush. Who cared where they were? This was just too romantic and he didn't give a flying fuck about his surrounding or situation. He was loving it.
Taehyung crippled as he moved up and latched onto Jungkook's back wrapping his arms in front of him. Jungkook carefully hooked his hands under Taehyung's knees so as to not hurt him where he got hurt.
"Kookie?" Once they were on the move again Taehyung started and Jungkook only hummed in response.
"I love you." And he kissed Jungkook's cheek making the younger stop at the sudden change in atmosphere but only for a moment before he started walking again.
Jungkook didn't respond to him, partly because he didn't know what to say and partly because the situation was unsuitable to be lovey dovey; but mostly because of the first reason. Second one was just a cover. Taehyung noticed the shyness in Jungkook and said nothing more. He only nuzzled his head in Jungkook's crook as the younger walked.
After that, a comfortable silence fell upon them as they moved closer to the lights and, indeed, they were of a commercial area. Jungkook looked for a pharmacy anywhere around them but found none. He thought for a while if he should walk around and look for one or should he just take Taehyung to the convenience store right in front of him, across the street.
He went with the second one and crossed the road. Once he reached the store he cleared his throat to get the attention of the girl on counter. He was a little uncomfortable in talking to her but he had to. For Taehyung.
"Excuse me." The girl looked up at him and blushed at the sight of two handsome guys in front of her before asking the standard question.
"How can I help you?"
"My, uh." Jungkook wondered if he should call him his boyfriend yet or not but decided against it since they weren't official yet.
"My friend here is hurt. Can you give me something to take care of him?" Taehyung lifted his head slightly in disbelief but stayed quiet, anyway. The girl motioned Jungkook to follow her and took him behind the curtain that was hung behind the counter. It was a small room with a bed, a chair and a wardrobe.
Jungkook put Taehyung on bed and purposely didn't ask him why he was sad. A moment later the girl came back and sat next to Taehyung as she placed some things next to her.
"I can take care of that, thank you." Jungkook tried to intervene but the girl only smiled at him.
"Don't worry. I've been a nurse for some time. You can trust me with this." Jungkook awkwardly nodded at her as he stepped back and let her be.
"What's your name?" She asked Taehyung as she set the things for her use and was now really acting like a nurse.
"Taehyung."
"And you?" She looked up at Jungkook whose eyes were fixed on Taehyung's leg so he felt a little embarrassed for being startled when he was asked.
"Uh, Jungkook."
"Nice to meet you, Taehyung, Jungkook. I'm Eunha." The boys nodded at her but stayed silent.
"Now Taehyung, can you pull your leg up or should I sit down?" She politely asked Taehyung who tried to lift his leg. When he felt the pain again, he squeezed his eyes shut and tried to pull up further.
"He can't-" Jungkook didn't like the look on Taehyung's face and he didn't want him to strain himself either.
"No. It's fine. Here." Taehyung was kind of hurt by Jungkook's use of 'friend' so he wanted to ignore him for a while but he also didn't want to make Eunha sit on the ground in front of him. He didn't get his leg broken or anything so he would do as much as he could to make her work easier.
She smiled at him and then analyzed the cut on his leg through the, now ripped, pants before she started rolling them up. After the second roll, Taehyung hissed and Eunha stopped.
"If it hurts that bad, I'll have to cut your pants." Taehyung pressed his lips in a thin line as he tried to get over the pain before replying.
"No it's ok." She gave him a nod and rolled it up a little further. When the injury was in view, Jungkook walked over behind her and his eyes widened and he couldn't stop the words coming out next.
"Don't hurt him much, please." Taehyung blushed a little at his care but didn't say anything. He tried to look at his leg to see what had happened and when he saw it, he knew it would hurt when she would cleanse it. He had cut himself against the rock he fell upon and something was stuck in the injured area making him feel the pain upon moving.
"It will hurt a little but you have to bear with me, okay?" Eunha gave him a heads up while Jungkook quickly moved to Taehyung's side and gripped his shoulder.
"Aaahh, fffff. God!" When Eunha plucked out the small object from Taehyung's shin, it started hurting from the moment he was touched. Jungkook wrapped both arms around Taehyung not knowing what he should do to ease the pain.
"It's over. It's over. That was the only painful part. You did good." Eunha patted Taehyung's leg when she saw the cute scene in front of her. It seemed like Jungkook was hurting more than Taehyung and she couldn't help but say
"You guys make a really cute couple." They both flushed deep red as Jungkook slowly retreated his hands.
After they were done, they thanked her before they left but completely forgot to ask where they were. Taehyung was still on Jungkook's back because he lied that he still couldn't walk. Jungkook was much too soft for him at the moment after the little episode from a while ago so he didn't ask anything nor did he complain.
When they were walking away from the store, Taehyung suddenly perked up as he looked around.
"Hey, Kookie?" Jungkook looked aside to see what got Taehyung's attention.
"Yeah?"
"Doesn't this place look awful lot familiar?" Now that be mentioned it, Jungkook noticed it too.
"Yeah, you're right. It looks just like-" And he stopped at the realization when he saw a familiar door a little ahead.
"We're back home!" They both said in unison before Jungkook ran in full speed with a huge grin plastered on his face.
Neither of them noticed the two boys hiding under the table where they were standing just a while ago as they rushed away.
"Morons."
"Tell me about it."
"Let's go get the van."
"Yeah."
