Chapter 5
Hoseok woke up to the sound of Taehyung's alarm clock and lazily shut it before waking up completely. He looked over at the other to see if he had woken up yet. A slight snore answered his question and he left him be, getting himself up and going for a shower. When he returned Taehyung was still fast asleep. Hoseok called his name a few times but there was no response.
"I'm warning you, Tae. If you do not wake up right now I'm going to pounce you. You know I will."
Making his threat clearly audible, Hoseok waited for a few seconds to see the reaction but there was none at all.
"Alright then. Here I come~"
With that he ran across the room and threw himself on Taehyung with full force causing the other to yelp in shock and pain. Not paying any heed to the Taehyung's cries he kept bouncing on him until Taehyung gave up and screamed.
"STOP! I'M UP! I'M UP!"
Thankfully Hoseok stopped killing him and rolled off of him, laughing even after Taehyung had left for the bathroom. When he came out Hoseok reminded him of the sticky note on his table.
"I thought you said you had these two books. I have looked everywhere already. Where did you put them?"
Taehyung laughed apologetically while putting on his shirt.
"Hehe. Sorry Hobi, I forgot. I was busy with my detention."
As if that's something to be proud of, Hoseok replied with an understanding "Oh! So you did not even buy them."
After a few moments of silence Hoseok remembered.
"Hey, you know the book store, the one that's right around the corner?"
"Yeah, why?"
"I happen to know the owner. He is my dad's friend. We can get the books for free from him."
Taehyung perked up at that and beamed at his friend
"Why did you not mention before? Let's go right now."
They both scurried down in a hurry but were stopped in their tracks by Mrs. Kim.
"Tae, Hobi?"
They both replied simultaneously as they poke their heads in the kitchen.
"Yes?"
"Yeah?"
"Eat before you go. You did not join us at lunch either."
Even though she was being very gentle, the boys knew her better than to fall for it. She was in fact unamused and the worse her mood, the more polite she appeared to be. They both mumbled a 'sorry' before sitting down at the table and finishing everything on their plates. After they were done, they thanked her with a hug while she kissed their cheeks in return. As soon as they were out they raced to the book store to see who reached first.
Taehyung went to the back directly, looking for what he needed while Hoseok was chatting with the middle aged guy who owned the store. Few moments later he joined Taehyung at the back to see if he had found the books yet. After they were done they headed towards the counter and showed the owner what they were taking.
As they were standing there, someone's small "hello" was heard as a man walked in the store. Hoseok glanced over at the door and saw none other than their English teacher, professor Namjoon walking in, eyes glued to his phone.
"Professor?"
Namjoon looked up from his phone and smiled at the sight of two boys.
"What are the chances! The top two students of my class in a book store, actually getting the books they were told to get."
They both laughed at their teacher's sarcastic comment. They were the exact opposite of what he described them as.
"You flatter us, professor. As always, you are very generous with words." Taehyung retorted with a snicker. Namjoon frowned at being called professor.
"I have told you before to call me 'hyung' when we are out of school, have I not?"
Hoseok and Taehyung grinned at first but obliged nonetheless.
"So.. Hyung, what brings you here?"
Taehyung chirped as he put the books in his bag and slung it over his shoulder to get comfortable.
"I'm meeting someone here."
Namjoon looked back at the door as he spoke and then towards the window to see if anyone was coming.
"A date?" Hoseok and Taehyung asked at the same time, grinning at him.
For a second, Namjoon thought of going with that idea but then decided against it. After all, it was Taehyung and Hoseok. One could never be too careful with those two devils. God knows what they would make out of such a simple joke. One thing he was sure of was that they would not let him live it down.
"No. It's a friend. More like a younger brother, actually."
Namjoon's phone vibrated in his hand so he looked down to check. He had been texting Jungkook all the way so he knew it was him. He checked for the message and sure enough, it was Jungkook.
Jungkook
I'm at the stop near the book store. Are you inside already or should I wait for you at the stop?
I'm in the store already. Come on in.
He looked up after putting his phone in his pocket and smiled at his students.
"He is here. Hey, if you guys do not have anything important to do you can join us for a coffee maybe?"
They both nodded almost immediately as they clearly had nothing better to do. Within next few minutes, a boy entered the store and they all turned to look at him.
Jungkook's P.O.V.
I thought only hyung would be here but there are two more people here with him and I do not even know them. I hope he does not make me introduce myself to them. He knows how I am.
Taehyung's P.O.V.
The moment my eyes landed on the person who had just entered, my breath hitched. I had seen that face and that built body before- actually yesterday. God must have been playing a trick on me when I reached home safely. I mean it was weird that nothing had happened to me yesterday. If only I knew what was in store for me today, I would have never come here. It is only a matter of time before he recognizes me and takes out his anger of yesterday right here right now.
Author's P.O.V.
Namjoon smiled when he saw Jungkook and signalled him to come closer. Then he turned towards his students to introduce him to them.
"This is Jungkook. He is like a brother to me." The two boys smiled at him and said a small 'hello' one after the other.
Then Namjoon addressed Jungkook.
"They are my students. This is Taehyung," He says pointing towards Taehyung who flashes a nervous smile and a wave at Jungkook to which only a timid nod came with a small smile.
"And he is Hoseok." He gestured towards Hoseok.
"You can call me hobi if you like."
Hoseok said as he stretched his arm out for a handshake. Jungkook felt a little awkward by this gesture but shook it anyway.
Before the situation could shift to an awkward silence Namjoon spoke up.
"Jungkook, would you mind if we went for a cup of coffee with them?"
He knew how Jungkook felt right now but he was only trying to help him make friends. He was not going to push him to do anything against his will but that did not mean that he would sit back and let the boy be antisocial for his entire life. He was going to put every option available in front of him and hopefully one day, Jungkook would like one of his suggestions and go with it.
Jungkook on the other hand, was more than uncomfortable. But he was relieved by the thought that Namjoon would be there as well to cover up for him. If he was asked alone, he would have straight away said 'no'. But his rejection in this situation would only humiliate Namjoon and he could not afford that. So he decided to let go of his rule of avoiding people this time only for Namjoon.
"No. It's okay."
Namjoon's face showed clear astonishment from the response because he was almost completely sure that Jungkook would either say no for both of them or he would suggest that only Namjoon should go. But the acceptance came out of the blue and he was not prepared for it. The shock was soon replaced by pride though. When Jungkook looked at him he saw Namjoon looking at him like a proud father. Seeing such an expression on someone's face for him whom Jungkook held so dear to him flustered Jungkook and pink tainted his cheeks. Clearly, he did not understand well how much of an impact his three small words had on Namjoon.
