Chapter 32

Taehyung and Hoseok kept their heads down and their mouths busy with food, since they are unable to meet the eyes of the woman who had them scared out of their wits only last night. The way Mrs. Jeon was talking and laughing so much now, only creeped the two of them even more. She seemed like she either had a split personality or was possessed by Jungkook's late grandparents, maybe, who came out last night since their precious Jungkook was hurt.

Both possibilities were scary enough to keep the two most noisy and obnoxious boys quiet for a whole hour, straight. They were not just quite but also lost in their own world for their own sake, so when Taehyung heard his name he came out of his trance with a jerk as he looked around to see who called him.

".. and when Taehyung was trying to skip out, I caught him almost instantly, since I didn't really plan on letting them off. They deserved it, you know."

Jin was smiling at Mrs. Jeon apologetically who returned the gesture with much warmth and understanding. Jungkook and Jimin, however, were having the time of their life as it could be seen by their efforts of trying to breathe while laughing their heads off.

Taehyung looked at all of them one by one, still unable to grasp what was so funny. He found Hoseok a better option among the rest at the table, to ask about it.

"Yah, hobi! What are they laughing at?"

He whispered loud enough for only Hoseok to hear. But it seemed like his only hope had yet to focus on his surroundings since his reply was not something Taehyung was looking for.

"Huh?"

Hoseok looked around with wide, blinking eyes, them landing on Jin who turned just in time to give Hoseok a devilish smirk. Before Hoseok could mouth his one word question, Jin spoke up.

"Hoseok was smart enough to quietly endure his part so he didn't have to face extra punishment."

Of course. Jin was telling the entire family about how he took revenge on his little brother and his friend for their mistake. Why wouldn't he? After embarrassing them a little while ago on the road, he needed to put the cherry on top of it, didn't he?

Hoseok leaned in towards Taehyung even though he thought that the latter might already know.

"He's roasting us." Taehyung only nodded and went back to staring at his plate. He didn't forget to kick Jin under the table and even if the elder ignored it, Taehyung was sure it would leave a bruise, so he was content.

*Ding Dong*

"Oh! I think Jungkook's father is here." With that Mrs. Jeon left the boys at the table and went to answer the door. And sure enough, it was Mr. Jeon. He was looking exceptionally happy today which, Jungkook and Jimin were quick to guess, was because the couple was finally getting their long desired 'vacations'.

Mr. Jeon greeted everyone and went in for a change followed by Mrs. Jeon who came back before he did. She went straight to kitchen and fixed up another plate for the new member who would be joining them soon.

Meanwhile, Jin tried to keep the atmosphere lively with his jokes but was almost always cut off by either Hoseok or Taehyung, since both of them had heard Jin's jokes almost twenty times before and could complete them even if they were just given the first word.

Jimin, however, found Jin's preference of humor extremely entertaining and he humored him with his reactions every time despite the attempts made to sabotage them. But, that was enough for Jin. Even if only one person from his audience enjoyed his jokes, he was more than content. But if no one did, he would laugh himself and be both, the entertainer and the audience. He was a complete package for a one man show.

Jungkook was the only person at the table with worry filling up his body. His father's arrival had awaken the reality that he had forgotten and was now, stressing himself out again.

Mr. Jeon came out just in time as Mrs. Jeon was setting the food for him on the table. The happiness radiating from both of them was too loud to go unnoticed.

"So, what's the occasion?" Jin finally asked when both elders are seated comfortably.

Mr. Jeon beamed as he chewed on his first bite quickly and gulped down half a glass of water to hurry up and empty his mouth so he could answer. The enthusiasm made Jin laugh at the sight of a grown man running his mouth at full speed like a kindergartner does to win a silly race of 'who finishes first?'

"For starters, we are going to have a life now." He finally spoke and earned a hearty laughter from the rest of the people around him.

"And?" Hoseok asked.

The insult from only a moment ago long forgotten, as something interesting seemed to be coming up.

"And~ we are going on a trip. We will stay there for however long we want."

Taehyung and Hoseok cheered, loudly. They were back to their old selves, again. Seeing their reaction Mr. Jeon got up and announced

"No more deadlines!"

"NO!" Taehyung and Hoseok stood up as they growled.

"No more weekend works!"

"NO!" Jin and Jimin joined in. The shout became louder.

"No more over time!"

"NO!" Mrs. Jeon wasn't going to be left behind on the celebration. Even louder now.

"No more night shifts!"

Only Jungkook was left. Jimin dragged him up and forced him to to join the others as they all screamed on top of their lungs, including Jungkook.

"NO!"

"SO, WHAT NOW?

Mr. Jeon yelled.

Taehyung and Hoseok looked at each other and mouthed the words to Jimin and Jin. Jimin looked at Jungkook who gave a nod. And in

"WE PARTY, BABY! WOOO!" Five boys howled

"YEAH!" Mr. Jeon exclaimed, his joy clear in his voice. Mrs. Jeon clapped excitedly, as the men in the house huddled together and bounced up and down as if they had won an award together.

"I feel like we just came back from rugby game." Jin laughed as he opened the door and trudged in.

"I know, right? Who knew Jungkook's dad was so.. Young?" Taehyung followed behind and kicked away his shoes that he had dragged along. He didn't bother to put them on properly when they were leaving since they had to walk a very small distance, making it easier for him to get rid of them now.

"Young?" Hoseok entered last. Jin hadn't moved ahead since he knew about the extremely annoying habit of his dongsaengs so, he had to stay and ensure that they don't forget to do something. Hoseok understood the glare and quickly kicked the door shut without looking behind.

"Yeah, I mean, didn't you see? He was so happy for getting some time off. I bet, he only gets holidays once a year. No wonder he was celebrating like that." Taehyung hopped up to his room as he spoke but stopped midway and turned around when he heard nothing. He was met with two very disappointed faces looking at him with 'I'm so done with you' looks.

"What? What did I miss?" Of course, he didn't know.

"Tae" Jin started but his shoulders slumped with a sigh, as he waved his hands in dismissal in front of him.
"Never mind"

And with that he left the other two as he opened the door to his room, which was right next to his mother's, and closed it behind him, softly.

Hoseok removed his eyes from the path Jin took and looked back at Taehyung but dropped his head and shook it before moving up and past him into the room.

"Whaaat? Why won't nobody say nothing?"

"You mean, 'anybody' and 'anything'?" Hoseok corrected him in a very bored tone but got a response he was 200% sure he would get.

"Huh?" He hated to be correct all the time- not really.

"Nothing. You should sleep now." Hoseok moved towards the bed and pulled the covers in one tug and hopped in.

Taehyung stood there, still unable to get what he had missed in all that hype? More importantly why was his hyung and his best friend, both so disappointed him? He kept standing there until a light snore told him there was no point in thinking alone about that, now. So he went to bed himself, as well, without changing. Hoseok didn't change so why should he? Very logical, indeed.

As he slipped in, he wondered when would Hoseok finally sleep at his own house? Didn't his parents even miss him in the least bit to tell him to ever come home? Maybe they were tired of their extremely loud son so, it was blessing for them that he was away giving their ears some peace. He giggled to himself at the thought as he got comfortable and dozed off.
