The Magic Pet
I was apprehensive about getting my new hypo-allergenic dog. What if it claws? What if it chews? What if it bares teeth, tears at the seams of my dress and ruins my reputation for good?
What if it doesn't turn out to be hypoallergenic after all?
My mother came back from the store and yelled for my name as I finished my exam preparation. I saw the scary thing in a cage, idle like a table, and I waited for it to violently bark. But it never did.
"You can pet him; it's okay," she said. I didn't believe her. I knew that I was going to die.
So she took the animal out of the cage and then I petted "him" as my mother said.
I touched it. It was soft.
Then she held a nut out to me.
"Eat this." My mouth shuddered with confusion. "No. Why? Why are you being like this?"
"Trust me," she said. "Fine," I agreed.
I was confused when I didn't have a reaction within hours.
