Birthe
Salvete! I'm Birthe (not pronounced like birth), and I love Latin and Greek linguistics and literature. Curiously, I haven't written much historical fiction yet. I do write a whole range of genres, from litfic and slice-of-life to contemporary romance to fantasy and science-fiction. The only genres you probably shouldn't expect from me are horror, thriller and mystery. In everything I write, I like to include all kinds of queer characters, and I try my best to sprinkle in other rep as well (still learning).
My stories are often a little slower paced and meandering, and I like taking a more "realistic" approach to emotions. My characters might have more emotional maturity than an average MC, but that doesn't mean they aren't idiots with interesting conflicts xD. Digging into the nuances of personalities and interpersonal dynamics is what I love the most in my stories.
I write stories of all different lengths.
If you prefer novels, you should check out Swift as a Coursing River.
A recently out divorcee must explore his identity and how to not be the straight-acting man he's been his whole life. Just when he has found his footing, a flamboyant trans man jumbles up his ideas about what it means to be gay, to be masculine, to be a man.

I have planned another novel, which you can already add to your library, I Have (Not) Been Lonely.
A 12-year-old girl runs away from school so she can finally be alone, but when she gets stuck on a spaceship in space, she'll need to learn to trust the other people on the ship, or she'll truly be left alone.

If you like novellas, check out Prometheus:
A lonely vampire drinks the blood of someone with HIV and gets stuck in a cycle of sickness. Luckily, he meets a doctor researching Aids, but friendship is hard when you're a monster. (Bonus romance, but the vampire is asexual and demiromantic.)

Most of my work are short stories and I have two anthologies of them:
· Light of Heart is the place to be for fluffy but realistic one-shots with another take on clichés and tropes →
· Discrimen is its counterweight and features the short stories with darker themes like discrimination and mental health →
My English poetry is collected in The Sun Shone at Dawn. You'll find a lot of haikus, other nature poems, themes like burnout, platonic love, etc. →
I also have short stories and poems in Dutch, of which I'd recommend:
· Kort en bondig, a short story collection →
· Woestijnkind, also translated in English in Discrimen as Desert Child, is a short story about a boy in the Armenian genocide →
