Okay, so... I've reached 285 FOLLOWERS!!!!! WHAT?! How did this happen?!

Anyway... today we're gonna talk about my obsession with magic systems. Like my other obsessions, it's a bit unhealthy. 😂

I love magic in a fantasy world. I seriously find it almost impossible not to add magic when creating a fantasy world because I love the range of it and all the incredible things I can make happen.

I also love thinking about the limits of a magic system. That's actually how I get  a lot of my OCs. I find a series that I love and I start toying with the different aspects of the magic system to find a new concept that isn't totally impossible given what we know about the magic of that world.

For example, my KotLC OCs. Gren is a Phaser and I pushed that into the realm of torture because that is so contrary to the elves culture. And with Neurosis, we know that elves can have more than one ability and I decided to find the most interesting combination - Inflictor and Empath. 😈

I just love the idea of manipulating the world to do something amazing.

Then Megan, my Fablehaven OC, is both Fairykind and a Shadow Charmer because I'm fascinated by the contrast of Light and Darkness.

That's a whole other thing. I'm totally enamored but the concept of Light vs Darkness and how they interact and the balance of the two. It's just so cool. I'm obsessed.

So, basically... I love magic and all the cool things you can do with it. I love the commitment to having a complicated magic system, but I also appreciate the soft simple magic.

MAGIC IS AWESOME!!!!!! And I'm done.
