lace code is a big thing in the skinhead scene—and if you're a baby punk a skinhead is a part of punk subculture, thats made up of usually working class people with shaved heads. a lot of people generalize skinheads and say that they're all n@zis, a lot are, but a lot aren't as well. anyways, lace code is basically a marker to kind of show people what you believe in (think "are you a friend of Dorothy's" gay men used, but more subtle)

lace code only applies to ladder laced laces on doc martens or combat boots. also they aren't really in use but some places it still applies. it also varies from place to place, so if the punk scene in your city is still prevalent i recommend trying to research your cities lace code

if you can't find your city's lace code, stick to black laces and when you are more comfortable in the scene and make friends, you can ask if there's a lace code in your city and what it is. elder punks are more likely to know this information

red - n@zi
white - white supremacy
blue - killed a cop (this doesn't mean acab)
purple - gay pride
yellow - anti-racist
black - no meaning
