Ninety Eight

Daddy Issues - The Neighbourhood

Stepping inside the bedroom Taemin could see that it is completely empty, well from a human being inside. He lets his eyes scour the living room a bit more and steps into the bedroom but to see Jimin no where in sight.

Hm....

Once again Taemin checks Jimin's text message and steps farther inside the room, just in case he hasn't looked completely everywhere for the tiny person.

It began to grow as a worry when Taemin still couldn't find Jimin, instantly thinking the worse with his heart picking up speed in anxiety. Taemin already wasn't in the greatest mood to say the least, just tired and exhausted of accompanying his fathers to their meetings, so letting out some steam coming after people if Jimin is in danger doesn't sound like the most horrible idea ever.

But suddenly Taemin pauses the second he passes by a creaked open door, hearing a heavy sigh from the other side.

Oh hell no....

Okay this could either be three things; Jimin is attempting something he shouldn't, he's being held hostage inside, or he's masurbating.

Judging by his attitude earlier, the last one could be crossed out.

Taemin quickly turns his head to the door, takes his gun out and slowly looks through the slit between the door and the frame.

Oh thank God!

It's none of those things.

Well he found Jimin, who's currently in the bathroom by the sink. He's wearing a black silk robe that reached his mid thighs, his dirty blonde hair wet and brushed back away from his face that's clearly fresh from a shower. He's quiet, just staring at himself with no signs that seemed to be that he's in trouble.

In other scenarios Taemin would assume that Jimin was trying to seduce him with this look, but it was the way Jimin was staring at himself in the mirror that made that thought instantly disappear.

It's a weak stare, yet almost challenging in a way. As though he was challenging himself for something, or hiding it back. He's leaning against the counter with palms pressed on either side of the sink, his gaze firm but so conflicted.

This is the first time Taemin has ever seen him look so....... Lost.

And it doesn't follow with a good feeling either.

So gently Taemin puts his gun away and pushes the door farther open, not seeing Jimin twitch a muscle despite the fact he noticed Taemin's entrance. Even as he goes up to him and leans back on the counter to be able to see his face, Jimin didn't flinch or move away.

The only way Taemin knew Jimin was not completely frozen was by he would blink ever so often, or breathe heavily through his nose as though he's trying to grasp his composure.

It was silent for a few moments with neither of them saying anything before Taemin stuffs his hands in his pocket, eyes still focused on the other.

"Gatita, what's wrong?" He asks calmly, keeping his voice steady, "For the past three days you've been avoiding me, and now I heard about the fight you had with Tae. Did something happen?"

Jimin didn't say anything for a long second or two, but his eyes did grow dimmer underneath the lights. He continued to stare at his reflection before letting out a heavy sigh, knowing damn well that exploding his anger out at Taemin will result in nothing but a backfire.

He's not in the mood to fight tonight.

"Holidays isn't a good time for me," Jimin murmurs under his breath, closing his eyes for a moment but then flutters it open, "It's funny how Christmas is suppose to be such a joyous year....... Yet I see no joy in it since it has caused me nothing but pain."

Taemin's lips twitched to a deeper frown upon hearing that weak tone in Jimin's voice, and reaches his hand to the back of Jimin's neck, massaging his muscles to hopefully calm him down.

Typically Jimin isn't the hugging or clingy type when he's like this, unless he asks for it, so Taemin respects his space as of now to speak.

It seems s though Jimin appreciated that since he seemed to have relaxed instantly, moving a hand to Taemin's wrist and caressing his skin with his thumb.

Almost as though he's relying on it to keep him grounded.

"I had an adoptive family before, who were Latinos. That's how I know Spanish," Jimin says quietly, nibbling his bottom lip hesitantly with this burn in his eyes, "Good people, the best parents anyone could ask for. We traveled a lot and for once I was so happy being alive while growing up with them."

That burn in Jimin's gaze grew intense and his hand on Taemin's wrist falls to wipe his eyes, hoping to ease the burn glimmering behind them of his childhood memory.

"One night there was a fire at our neighbors house. The houses in the area where we use to live in were incredibly close together, so the fire also latched onto our house," Jimin's tone is growing lower and lower and heavy, "My adoptive father managed to take me out, but my mother was still inside...... So he went after her. They never came out again, and it was on Christmas Eve; moving to when the clock struck to Christmas."

Taemin could feel it.

He could feel Jimin's trembling body as he recalls those horrific memories, trying to swallow down that knot in his throat and hold himself in to not cry.

No words could describe how hard it must've been for him to be an orphan again, in such a brutal and horrific way; Growing up as an orphan, finally having a family to seeing them just be gone from one moment to the next, now relying on a gang to fill in that emptiness of a family to feel whole again.

Even if it's never the same.

Taemin hesitates, wanting to hug him or not, but Jimin wipes his dry eyes again and takes a deep breath to bring himself back to the present.

"I haven't told this to anyone, so don't go snitching it out," Jimin says through his staggering breathes, obviously knowing Taemin wouldn't do that but more so to easing out the tensing environment, "I'm no weak bitch."

There's the tough gatita.

And still stubborn.

Taemin had to smile, even if it was a small one, but he took that chance to lean and press a kiss against Jimin's head, "You're anything but weak gatita," but then he became more serious as he continues to massage Jimin's neck, "What you went through is tough, I can understand why you're feeling like this during this time of year, but try not pushing anyone away from your life. Help them understand why you spoke or behaved the way you did. You've been alone for too long, it won't hurt to let someone in."

Jimin let's his eyes flutter to the sink, his gaze hardening, "It's not so easy opening up Taemin."

"Trust me I know," And Taemin scoots closer to him, tilting his face up by the chin to make him face him, "I'm not saying to do it now, but whenever you feel ready. It's good for them to know this so they can understand you. They can't read minds but those friends you have are good friends, they will worry about you regardless. It'll help not feel the pain so hard."

He's right, of course he is.

Perhaps this is why Jimin needed, for someone to tell him that it's okay to open up about his emotions or thoughts.

That he doesn't have to be alone.

A small twitch of a frown nudges Jimin's lips, slowly nodding as it processes in his head, "I guess I should start with you," Jimin says quietly and meets his eyes, "Three days ago when we went to a club. The night you tried to get me jealous-"

"I wasn't-"

"It worked," Jimin cuts in, keeping his face serious despite the way Taemin's facial features fell, "I was jealous. Aside from this trauma, I was just mad at the moment; at you, at me, at the world. I don't like seeing people up on you like that, and it sucks because I probably wouldn't be like this if I wasn't indecisive about my feelings."

The clear troubling gaze is evident in Jimin's eyes, and Taemin hates to see this ongoing battle Jimin prefers fighting alone about his thoughts. It's almost like facing war alone. He's holding in so much, afraid to open up, afraid to rely on anyone

He shouldn't do this by himself.

He shouldn't have to go through it alone.

So Taemin pushes himself off the counter, gently guiding Jimin to turn around as he stands in front of him. From one moment to the next, Taemin wraps his arms around Jimin's waist and hoists him up to sit on the counter of the sink.

Jimin didn't say anything, not even fight him, so Taemin grabs a rolled up small towel from the small pile beside the sink and wets a corner with warm water. Standing between Jimin's legs to face him now, letting their eyes meet. There's such an empty gaze in Jimin's eyes as they stare at each other, and that's something that's just so uncommon to see.

Usually Jimin is exploding with emotions of rage or annoyance, to see emptiness is just so uncommon.

So delicately Taemin's caresses Jimin's face with the warm wet towel, focusing on wiping the dry tear stains on his skin and relaxing the stressed muscles on his face.

This is something Pablo use to do to Taemin a lot as a child whenever he was stressed, and it always worked in making him feel relaxed.

Hopefully it's working for Jimin too.

"Don't pressure yourself gatita," Taemin whispers quietly, trailing the warm towel to Jimin's neck, "You already know I have my eyes on you. I'm pretty patient, so please don't feel like you have to act or think a certain way around me just because of the unclear place where we stand now. Just don't change, be yourself, go with whatever feels right for you. I don't want to be with anyone else either way."

It was almost as though all of Jimin's weight disappears completely, and finally twitches a smile for once. This only made Taemin return that delicate smile back as he continues to pat the towel on Jimin's cheek before setting it aside.

Guess it did work too.

"As for your message about my parents not liking you," Taemin sighs and faces him with a more serious face, "My other dad is a tough one to break into, so it'll take a while to grow onto him-"

"At this point I don't care," Jimin mumbles dismissively, leaning his face forward and nuzzles both of their foreheads together, fluttering his eyes closed, "I don't need anyone to like me, I just assumed that they needed to since you're their son. At this point, I just care about you, okay?"

That was all Taemin needed to hear.

The smile on Taemin's lips was wide now, unable to stop himself from wrapping his arms around Jimin's waist and suddenly hoists him up again. Jimin instantly shrieks and wraps his legs around his torso, giggling underneath his breath as Taemin marches to the bedroom throw themselves on the bed.

This was suppose to be a cute act, it really was.

But Jimin was feeling anything but the cuteness right now.

The pressure of Taemin laying right between Jimin's legs felt like lightening suddenly striking Jimin's abdomen, arching his back with eyes squeezing his shut to sudden adrenaline strike pulsing his veins. Perhaps he gritted his jaw a bit too tight to not make any any noises and he's glad Taemin was far too busy burying his face on Jimin's neck to notice this reaction.

Now is not the time to get turned on.

"Gatita, you smell good," Taemin murmurs against his skin, flooding goosebumps on Jimin's while body, "I'm tempted."

Jimin wanted to rip his head off.

But of course, him being the type of person to not give in easily only attempts to push Taemin off.

"I'm still mad."

"Angry sex?"

"Fuck you!"

They're giggling now and Taemin finds himself staring down at Jimin, caressing his cheek with his delicate thumb that softened every knot in Jimin's throat.

Feeling completely relaxed and peaceful.

And so Taemin gently leans forward and pressed a kiss against Jimin's forehead.

"I'm glad you're here with me."

Now Jimin is smiling far to widely, his heart bursting in warmth as he cups over Taemin's hand over his cheek, caressing his skin with his thumb.

"I'm glad I nearly died trying to chase after you too."

The laughter that bursted their lips clearly showed the happiness deep inside their hearts, feeling it glow as they cuddle each other in their arms. Conversations began to bloom, more giggles were made and soft touches did not go unnoticed.

In this place, being in each other's embrace, felt like home.
