It was weeks after Wolfie's conversation with River that the Alpha made a startling discovery.

He had allowed Danny's friends to stay at their house, but he had the feeling that the Omega wasn't being totally honest with him. Other than that, everything was going smoothly... Well, except for that Gage kid.

There was something that he didn't like about him but he just couldn't put his finger on it.

Anyway, he found out that his parents had tried having him mentally assessed by one of their own Doctors who they claimed to be impartial and that the judge overseeing the case was leaning towards agreeing.

If that happened then things would become significantly harder for him to plead his case.

If he suggested one of his own Doctors, his parents would argue that the Doctor couldn't remain impartial. So in the end, they would be at a temporary  standstill.

So, the only option left for him was to approach the judge and have him look for the best Psychologists nearest to their location and have him assessed by them.

The only downside to that was that his parents would also need to know the person's identity and they could end up bribing him.

So yeah, that was the better solution but it came with its downsides and he would have to just go with the flow because he had no other remaining option.

This case was slowly but surely becoming a pain in the arse for him.

He couldn't help but sigh softly. He leaned back in his office chair and massaged his temple as the sound of yelling was heard along with splashing.

Danny and his friends were having some sort of Pool party and were making a whole load of noise, disrupting his work.

He loathed that today was Saturday and that he couldn't even spend some time inside, relaxing with Danny.

Oh, he had nothing against his friends, but together, they were loud.

The pretty one, Natalia wasn't there as she had some babysitting job to do, but the other two more than made up for her absence.

Who would've thought that the petite, Asian girl was loud?

And he wasn't even being stereotypical when he said that. The girl was so fucking tiny that no one would think that she had such lungs on her.

He just hoped that Danny wouldn't injure himself as this stage of the pregnancy was rather delicate.

Hmmm.

Next week for him consisted of court cases and he could already predict the incoming migraines at the end of them.

For some reason, he just believed that the cases wouldn't be cut and dry as he hoped. In the past, he wouldn't much mind, but with this upcoming case against him, he needed to take advantage of his resources to build a strong defence and he couldn't exactly do that when said resources were scattered about trying to build strong defences and Offences for pre-existing cases.

Lord, fuck him,

He knew that the world didn't cater to everyone but throw him a fucking bone.

He was being overloaded by cases when the most important one still haven't been carefully analysed.

So with a loud sigh, he got up off the chair and stretched his aching muscles out, not even shifting as he heard his bones pop.

"Ahhhh," he moaned sofly. The feeling of taking a good stretch was second only to sex with Danny.

And speaking of the sexy Omega. It was about time he went down and sequestered him away from his friends for some R&R.

He's been working so fucking hard these past few weeks that he hadn't been spending as much time with the Omega as he had wanted.

Instead, he had been holed up in his office. Only coming out when he was hungry and when it was time for bed. Danny had obviously went to sleep by then.

The Omega usually went to sleep around 9pm now and although it was common as the pups developed faster, it put a damper on any sexy time as Danny usually hung out with his friends. And when he wasn't, he was too tired or Wolfie was busy.

Life sure wasn't fair for this poor Alpha, was it?

He groaned and cursed his bad luck before trudging out of his office. He was honestly glad that this wasn't a house with stairs or he might've rolled himself down said stairs after wrapping his body in the carpet like a blunt.

Yeah... His thought process was doing more flips than Simone Biles.

He was switching to American words and that goes to show how tired he actually was.

Trudging across the expanse of hallway, he couldn't help but bemoan the fact that Danny's shitty friends ate all his precious desserts that the Omega had made him.

He had had Danny make some more of that duck?...No, Duct?... Duct-tape? Haha No... Du-car-na? Okay, whatever the fuck it was called.

That sweet potato pudding that he had made before. Duncana or something.

That shit banged.

Okay, he was way tired than he expected. Did those words even make sense?

Ugh...

He quickened his pace so that he could get to the backyard quickly to get his precious Omega.

He wanted Danny to put him out of his fucking misery.

In no time, he arrived and didn't waste any time as he opened the door and walked towards the pool where Danny and his friends had just done a cannonball.

He grunted and locked eyes with the laughing Omega whose eyes widened briefly before he swam towards the edge and pushed himself up, approaching Wolfie who was screaming inside his head at him to hurry up.

"Alpha?" he asked in confusion, coming to a stop in-front of said man.

Wolfie just plucked a towel off the outside table and wrapped it around the Omega before pulling him towards him. "Let's go inside. I think we need some time to ourselves now. Let your friends continue playing in the pool."

"We aren't children," he muttered softly, a pout on his lips as he looked into Wolfie's eyes.

In response, Wolfie just shrugged and began pulling him towards the door. "Have fun!" he called, glancing back at Danny's friends who were grinn- well, the girl was grinning and the guy had a peculiar look on his face.

Wolfie kinda hated him even though he didn't know why.

Danny huffed but allowed the Alpha to drag him back to their bedroom.

"Take a shower." He sat down on the bed and looked at Danny imploringly. "Hurry up, I wanna cuddle."

The Omega snorted and rolled his eyes before stalking off to the bathroom with the towel still wrapped around him.

It was Gage's towel, so he wondered how Wolfie hadn't smelt the other Alpha's scent.

"Must be tired or something," he muttered softly as he undressed himself.

The Alpha had been busy over the past couple of weeks and to be honest, he had started feeling neglected. Sure, he understood that his work was important but still... he also needed some attention.

He pouted and opened the door to enter the shower. He then turned the dial to instantly get the water at the correct temperature and stepped back a bit so that the freezing cold water wouldn't touch him.

Wolfie seemed to be aggravated but the Alpha still hadn't mentioned anything to him and as much as he didn't want to be nosy, he drew the line went it would affecting the Alpha Professionally and Privately.

He sighed softly and tested the water which was now at the correct temperature and closed the doors behind him after dashing the towel, his shirt and  swim trunks to the floor.

Wolfie was so jealous that he wouldn't allow Danny to enter the pool without a shirt on. Although the Omega wanted to complain, he knew that with Gage around, it was better to just go with the flow instead of having the Alpha attack the other.

Wolfie was way stronger than Gage and he just knew that things would get bloody... fast.

As he washed the chlorine out of his hair, he decided that he should try and get some information from Wolfie.

He hated how haggard the normally composed Alpha was getting because he took on more cases that he could handle and than what was healthy.

Danny was set to graduate in May because the Online School was pretty fast-paced. It wasn't like going to school in person where they had a time crunch. So, Danny had covered a lot of bases that he wouldn't have been close to covering if he was still attending School.

Well... You did get what you pay for in this instance as Wolfie was paying top dollar for his Education.

His friends would be graduating in July, so yeah, he was way ahead of them.

He guessed that they wanted to have a early head start in their choice of Colleges since their graduation was seven months away.

He would've already given birth by then and wasn't that a heart-stopper. He, Danny was going be a Mummy soon.

December would pass by quickly enough and next thing you know, here comes January sneaking up on your arse and taking all your money.

Well, he didn't have to worry about that  seeing as they were rich as fuck. Even without Wolfie's money, Danny still wouldn't have to worry about going broke as his parents were also well-off.

Talking about money, he needed to get busy on those Christmas presents before the prices were jacked up. Oh well, he could always do it online and have them delivered instead of going in-person.

The benefit of that was that he really didn't have a budget, so he could just spend whatever amount he wanted.

He washed the body wash off of his skin and kicked the soaking wet pool stuff to the side. He would just throw them in the washing machine after he got dressed.

So after turning the shower off, he opened the doors and left the shower to grab his towel from the heated cabinet.

He wasn't one for drying his hair with a towel  so he left the bathroom with the one towel wrapped around his body.

After getting dressed and putting his Engagement ring and collar back on, Danny got his clothing and towel from the bathroom and chucked them in the washing machine, turning the knob to express before returning to their bedroom where Wolfie had stripped down to his boxers and was lying on the bed, his eyes trained on the doorway.

He locked eyes with the Alpha who beckoned him forward with a seductive look on his face.

With a grin on his face, he ran towards the bed and jumped on, pouting when Wolfie wasn't even disrupted.

"Tempur-Pedic, lovely."

Danny rolled his eyes and belly crawled up the bed, lying his head on Wolfie's chest. "Hmmm, if so then maybe I should get a glass of wine and bounce on it."

Wolfie snorted and wrapped an arm around him, pulling him up until Danny's head was cradled in the crook of his arm.

"You are not wasting my wine because of some damn commercial," he retorted lowly.

Before Danny could reply, Wolfie suddenly turned and propped himself up on his forearms, hovering over the Omega who quirked an eyebrow at him in curiosity.

"Ohhhh," he laughed, wrapping his arms around Wolfie's neck. "Sex? Now? Nu-uh."

Wolfie huffed and leaned down, planting a quick kiss on his lips.

"And why is that?"

"Because..." he drawled lowly, smiling up at the Alpha. "We need to talk."

His eyes widened and he pulled back at bit. "You know, if we weren't Mated and Engaged, I would be worrying about a possible break-up. Things rarely turn out okay after a conversation is started with those words."

In response, Danny snorted and unwrapped his arms from his neck before pushing him to the side and hefting himself up so that he could sit on the Alpha's hips.

"Pfft." He tailed his hand down Wolfie's chest then stopped when he reached the top of his boxers. "You've been tired for weeks and I want to know why. If you've been taking more cases than what's healthy then I want to know why. I refuse to take care of our pup alone because you worked yourself into a coma."

Wolfie groaned and buried his fingers in either side of Danny's hips. "Baby, that's work. That's just how it is."

"Oh don't you try and downplay anything," he warned, glaring slightly. "I want to know what's wrong so stop keeping stuff from me."

The Alpha groaned and rolled his eyes at him in exasperation.

"Danny," he whined.

"Wolfieeeeeeeee. Believe me when I say that I can out whine you," he replied, eyeing the Alpha who looked like he would throw Danny down and bolt at any second. "Don't even think about avoiding this conversation. The more time you waste, the longer it'll be before I let you touch me again." Here, he sent him a pointed look and rose an eyebrow at him imploringly. "Well?"

Wolfie grunted before releasing a soft sigh. "Okay, fine. You don't need to threaten me." Here, Danny rolled his eyes at him. "My parents are suing me and they got my Ex to represent them. I hate to say it but they have hard evidence."

Both of Danny's eyebrows rose in shock and he snorted in disbelief. "Ohh... Wow... Wow... Really?"

He knew that Wolfie's parents were stuck-up prats but to sue your own child was going way to far in his opinion.

"Yup. I can't say that I'm surprised seeing as they had my parents committed to a care home so that they could take their money."

Danny's eyes widened. "Okay, why am I now finding out about this?"

Wolfie shrugged. "I didn't exactly find it relevant to mention until now."

Without a word, Danny's pinched Wolfie's nipple causing the Alpha to yelp at the stinging sensation. "Oww!"

"Oh stop exaggerating," he intoned, rolling his eyes for emphasis. "I doubt you even felt that. So, other than those vultures suing you, what else has been weighing on your mind and you have another Ex? Jeez, please don't tell me that a bunch of them are gonna be popping out of the woodworks now. What's his name? I might know him."

"I don't have loads of Exes, I assure you. Nor do I have any one night stands," he tacked on after seeing Danny about to offer a rebuttal. "I have three Exes. Conan, Him and another one who I don't wanna mention right now cause it was doomed to fail from the start."

"Ooo, colour me intrigued," he teased, waggling his eyebrows at Wolfie who snorted in amusement. "Come on, tell me his name and the story for the last one."

Wolfie grunted and bucked up against the Omega in a failed effort to distract him.

Once Danny's mind has been made up, he wouldn't be easily distracted, so tough luck for the Alpha.

"Don't you dare try to distract me," he warned, glaring once more at the Alpha. "Now, spit. It out and stop dodging."

"Okay fine!" He snapped, surprising Danny who looked taken aback by his reaction. "His name i-" Danny put his hand over his mouth and moved off of his body, earning a look of confusion from the Alpha.

"If you don't want to tell me then that's okay," he explained calmly. "It's really none of my business." He lied back down in the crook of Wolfie's arm and got his phone.

Yeah... He wasn't gonna embarrass himself by having the Alpha yell at him for his friends to hear.

Wolfie didn't seem like he wanted to tell him and he wasn't gonna push.

Yeah... Here comes the pity party.

"Dann-" He interrupted the Alpha again.

"It's no big deal, seriously." He turned his head and looked up into Wolfie's eyes. "You don't have to tell me. So, let's just relax and maybe take a nap."

Wolfie's eyebrows furrowed and with a soft sigh, he buried the lower half of his face in the Omega's hair. "Danny," he murmured softly, tightening his hold on said guy.

Danny remained quiet and continued scrolling through Instagram; he was just gonna mind his business.

He couldn't help but laugh softly when he stumbled upon The Sicko mode Grinch Edit.

"Danny?"

He looked back at the Alpha who had a look of annoyance on his face. "What? I told you that you don't need to tell me anymore. Let's just forget about this conversation."

He grunted and turned on his side so that he was propped up on his elbow while looking at the Omega. "Danny, stop being a brat and listen."

He huffed but remained quiet.

"I have three Exes," he started off. "The first is Conan who you've already met."

He nodded and clicked the off button on his phone.

"The second Ex is also a Solicitor. We don't work in the same company if that's what you were gonna ask," he explained. "His name is River Brandon but I doubt you know him."

Danny's eyes widened briefly then a smile spread across his face. "Ohhh! I know him! That's the guy who Natalia babysits for, her cousin-in-law! That's awe- wait... He's you're Ex?! Didn't you say that he's the one who was hired by your parents?!"

Wolfie nodded, a grimace on his face.

"Wait! I wonder if Natalia knows about this?" he muttered. "Maybe she's here to spy or something... But that doesn't make any sense since she told me his name from the get-go. It's probably just a coincidence."

Wolfie snorted. "Yeah, coincidence."

Danny chuckled. "Okay, I can't say for sure, but who is the last Ex? The one you said that the Relationship was doomed from the beginning."

Wolfie scrubbed a hand down his face and looked back at Danny.

"Well, I wouldn't exactly call him an Ex as all we did was kiss, but... ugh... This is gonna be so awkward," he murmured, a put out expression on his face.

"Just say it. How hard can it be?" he intoned, looking a tad impatient.

"Okay, fine. It's Jackson."
