YOU CANNOT HAVE LIGHT WITHOUT DARKNESS. For stars to shine, there must be the night sky around them. For some to rise, others must fall. The world is meant to be in balance. Give and take. Yin and Yang.

Landon Temples knew what the world was really like. He knew about the darkness that hid in the shadows. He knew about things barely anyone else did. And that made what he knew, his responsibility. 

The darkness liked to challenge the balance of the world; seeping into every day life — infecting, hurting. That was where Landon came into the picture. He was the one that chased away the monsters under your bed, that found those lost to the world. Landon knew that demons and creatures of the night attacked and hunted with no one the wiser. With them on the loose, the balance was threatened. So Landon Temples was the man who set it straight.

You don't choose the job, the job chooses you.

Well, that was what his Mother used to say.  

Miriam Temples was an accomplished psychic and witch and for years she fought back the darkness that attempted to take over their world. She never intended it to be the life for her son, but once he started displaying an aptitude for the mystic arts, she knew he had been chosen like she had. But she did not have the time she wanted to ensure the path he would walk would be a straight line as her soul was dragged to Hell in a spell gone bad. Landon was there. He had seen it all.

Helpless to save his Mother, Landon drowned himself in drink and cigarettes until he could barely breathe. It got to the point he almost died, but then a demon strolled in with a deal. A deal Landon Temples could not refuse. So Landon decided to make the Temple family's sacrifices worth it and dedicated himself to the fight against evil.

For years, Landon continued to battle against the darkness that threatened every day life. Demon after demon he sent to Hell and with each one, the list of his enemies grew. Sure, he was keeping the innocents safe, but once he reached his final destination, he knew that there would be hoards of demons after him. So Landon had to save as many as he could before his damned soul joined the demons he banished. 

He solved case after case — until he didn't.

Landon was called to a flat on a council estate to locate the missing daughter of one Jackie Tyler. But no matter what spells and potions he tried, Rose Tyler could not be found. It was as if she had vanished off the face of the earth.

But then one Christmas Eve whilst Landon was out enjoying the night, he spots the missing girl he had failed to find. A girl that then came under fire by a bunch of Santas. And, of course, Landon Temples could not let this go. 

So, with the threat of destruction looming over the world, Landon is dragged into the world of — he couldn't believe it — aliens! After saving Christmas, Landon decides to join the time-travelling team across the stars. And it is on this adventure that he starts to grow close to the two-hearted alien with the spiky hair and non-magic screwdriver.

Landon was new to the world of extra-terrestrials. And the Doctor was new to the world of magic. So, together, they were both entering the unknown.

AUTHOR'S NOTE —
Ok, so I'm totally in love with this concept. I was watching Legends of Tomorrow when this popped into my head and I fell in love. Having the world of the supernatural within Doctor Who is so cool, he would be so confused by it but the mountain of proof Landon will present will be enough to convince him.

The Doctor needs a boyfriend. So I'm giving him a wizard one. 

I adore DC's John Constantine (which is why Landon is based off him), he's just so funny and brilliant. He says he's doesn't care, but he actually cares a lot. Landon's flirtatious nature and the Doctor's oblivious one is gonna mean these idiots won't admit their feelings for a while. They'll literally be eye-fucking but when someone asks if they're together, they'll say they're just friends.
