What is self-love 

Okay so self-love is not any new thing we discovered, this topic is always in the trends but still, what is self-love? As we hear this word our brain directly links it  with self-care. Of course, self-care is an important part of self-love, but is it enough? Is self-care wholly defined as self-love? 

To be honest according to me self love can't be defined in one word. Different people have different thoughts and opinions about this; for some self love is  nature, spending time with stars while looking at night sky or for some its breathing in fresh air, or watching small insects juggling for their life for nature lovers, self-love is spending time with nature.


Whereas for some, self-love is meeting new people, discovering new places, facing new challenges, eating and cooking, for an adventurous person self-love is living everyday as if it's your last.


And vice-versa from this, self-love for some people is sitting somewhere on your balcony with a cup of tea, headphones on while listening to your favourite music (for eg, myself) for introverts self-love is just spending time with themselves or those few selective people in their life.

Even letting yourself free from a toxic relationship you hold with someone, accepting yourself or even taking a step towards something risky is also an act of self-love.

You may wonder how? Well it takes guts and a lot patience and strength to accept something, especially yourself, taking stand for yourself, letting go etc. This are things not so easy as seen in movies, but not impossible too. And if you did something like this then I want to say I am really proud of you, you chose yourself and what's better than this!!!

And if not then… don't worry I am still proud of you because you suffered this much and you still have been strong for so long. I hope God make your further journey easy.

Some acts of self-love

Now if I google this, there I would get so many suggestions for you but I don't want to copy and paste it here, because I know, you'll maybe already know about those suggestions but I would love to recommend something which I do myself

Have a walk in fresh air according to your mood and schedule.

Eats chocolates, (not too much) but once in awhile.

Play with your pets ( if you have any).

Re-watch your favourite drama or movie.

Have a good sleep.

Take a breath, cry, dance like no one is watching you do everything which makes you a human and value your emotions.

Connect with your old friends and have chats with them, and say sorry even if there was no big mistake but you were only just part of it.

Try to cook something, even if your kitchen turns out to be a disaster (personal experience).

Take out your favourite outfit, get ready and do a fasion show!!! Yeah I know it sounds crazy but as long it makes you happy it's okay.

And last but not least, embrace your emotions, wheather it's a gumpy day, or a happy one, go from mood swings, to having tears in the corners of your eyes watching that comedy movie. 

No matter what, always remember you are born to be yourself and your days will be both good and bad. The journey to self-love, self-acceptance or self-respect is not easy but I believe you are strong enough to face the burden though.

After all this I want you to come to a conclusion that I don't wanna improve on myself anymore but instead I accept myself, because I am a beautiful disaster.
