Chapter 2

Chapter 2 Skip Takes The V

Little did I know how quick my spring semester would come, and go. When it's time for my first spring break Joss invites me and Tess to come with her to The Hampton's for the week. I don't even have to think about it before I'm screaming, and jumping around hugging Joss in excitement.

Joss and I spend the rest of the week rushing back to our dorm, after finishing our midterms, every afternoon to over pack, and gossip about the upcoming trip. Joss tried to explain how different The Hampton's are, and the people who live there. Only my starry eyed fantasies make the place seem even more unreal with her tales.

By the time Friday rolls around I'm so excited to leave I can't sit still! Tess shows up at Joss and I's dorm a little after noon, and we don't wait around for much longer. Joss and I rush Tess back out of our dorm room just as quickly as she came in. Then down to Tess's car, so we can load our bags into the trunk. Before joining the other cars on the congested city street, and finally waving good-bye to the city less than an hour later.

For the next two and a half hours the three of us talk, laugh, and sing along to the radio as Tess drives. When I finally spot the 'Welcome To The Hampton's' sign out of the back passenger window my excitement level hits an all time high! My eyes greedily take in the passing mansions, and over the top yachts everywhere I look. This must be what Joss tried to warn me about, but my simpleton upbringing could never have imagined seeing so much wealth on display!

After fifteen minutes Tess turns off the road down a long stone driveway. Coming to a stop in front of a modest, compared to houses surrounding it, two story beach house that belongs to Joss's grandparents. Tess and I just gawk at the palace we get to call home for the next week as we bounce out of the car. Joss starts laughing at our childish antics while grabbing her bags from the trunk of the car, and walking inside the house first.

Tess and I are quick to follow her. Grabbing our bags before rushing up the front steps into the lavish beach house. Joss leads us upstairs once we're in, so we can choose which room we want. I feel like I'm in an old episode of CRIBS as I follow behind both girls up the stairs, and into the first door I come to. Claiming this room for my own.

As soon as I pass the threshold my feet stopped moving, and my jaw hit the floor. The room is massive! A king size bed dominates the center of the space. The walls are painted a light blue, and a light colored wood flooring to match. Both highlight the natural light streaming in from the french doors, and floor to ceiling windows making up the rest of the exterior wall.

Across from the bed is a set of double doors that are open revealing an en-suite bathroom that's just as big, and full of light as the bedroom! The first thing you see when you wall in is a giant free-standing claw foot tub in the center of the room. Next to it is a glass shower big enough for four people, a small door hiding the toilet, then a double sink and mirror that takes up the entire wall. Everything looks so sleek and shiny I don't want to touch it!

After gushing over everything in my room more than once I calm down enough to unpack my bag, and put it away. When I'm done with that I head back downstairs to meet up with the girls in the kitchen. I help Joss make the three of us a snack while we discuss our plans for the night. Before rushing back up the stairs like a herd of wild bulls after we've finished to start getting ready.

In true Hampton fashion the first party Joss takes us to is at a gated mega-mansion swarming with people. Thanks to Joss's choice of a short, fitted pink maxi dress, and Tess's magnificent job with my makeup I actually look like I belong in this crowd, or maybe even better! Evident by all the heads turning to stare at us as we walk into the party arm in arm looking like a younger version of Charlie's Angels.

Even though the place is packed the three of us manage to stay within touching distance of each other all night. Hunting down the open bar first, and downing several shots to loosen up and start this party off right! Then on to the makeshift dance floor where we stay for the majority of the time. Until the party starts to die down in the wee hours of the morning, and we call for an Uber back to Joss's.

The rest of the week goes by in the same fashion. The three of us sleep in well past noon everyday. Until we all wake up, and meet back up in the kitchen. To inhale as much greasy foods as our hungover stomachs can handle, and make a plan. Once we settle on the nights party the girls help me get all dolled up while also getting ready themselves. Before leaving the house for the night to do it all over again!

From huge corporate Spring Break Bashes, to beach parties, and even a couple of yacht's there isn't a party Joss doesn't drag us to! The sheer amount of people at each venue, and the crazy amount of wealth being flaunted at each place it's nothing like I imagined. But that's exactly how I feel, like I'm living in a never ending dream!

Except this dream will tomorrow, Sunday morning, when we have to pack up, and drive back into the city. That's why tonight we're going out with a bang! Joss said she saved the best for last. Which is just crazy after everything else we've done this week, but I don't argue that point. Instead I race upstairs with a big, goofy grin on my face to take a shower.

Once I'm finished I wrap a towel around my hair and body before walking back into my bedroom. Joss has already been here laying out my new white bikini, a pair of cut-off denim shorts that barely cover my ass cheeks, a white off-the-shoulder NYU sweatshirt, and my old pair of cowboy boots on top of my bed for me to wear.

As soon as I finish getting dressed Tess comes spinning through my bedroom door to do my hair and makeup. She leaves my face almost bare except for some black eyeliner and mascara to make my eyes pop. While styling my hair in long ringlets falling over my left shoulder and down my back.

Both Joss and Tess have to give me the stamp of approval before we can leave. Which is fine with me, because I'm smiling like a loon with my arms up, and out at my sides, and I'm slowly turning in a circle for their calculating gaze. I bubble over full in glee. All four years of high school I never could relate to the other girls when they were excited to meet up with their friends before a party.

Standing here in front of these two amazing, strong women wearing different versions of the same outfit as me, all decked out to go, and absolutely loving it! I finally understand what all the fuss is about. It's not about the party, like my naive, sheltered self first thought, but about being around certain people who love, accept, and build you up into a better person.

Tears filled my eyes with that thought, but I rapidly blink my eyelids to stop even one from falling. Thankfully neither Joss or Tess notice my emotional moment either as Joss turns around walking down the stairs. With Tess and I just steps behind her, and toward the side door of the Beach House instead of the front.

Since I'm the last one through the sliding door I push it closed behind me. Stopping a few feet away beside Joss, and Tess on her other side. I look around at the quiet, starry nighttime seascape in question. Wondering why we came out this way onto the patio, instead of walking out the front door for an Uber?

But, before I can voice any of that Joss slides her arms through Tess and mine, and starts pulling us behind her. "C'mon Slow-Pokes! We'll  be right on time to be fashionably late if we hurry!"

The three of us dissolve into hysterics, but Tess and I pick up the pace. Following Joss to the edge of the beach, down the coast for about five minutes, until we came to a pier brightly lite, and full of outrageously sized yachts.

Some two-story wooden art piece was on fire in the middle of the sand close to the dock. There are more people here already than at any of the other parties we've been to by far! Having a good time, drinking, and dancing to the thumping techno beats blasting from all around.

At first glance a nervous excitement fills me, and I let out a squeal. That Joss and Tess soon join in on! Before we start running the last hundred yards to the outskirts of the party. Quickly finding several different shots to raise our liquid courage for the dance floor.

Joss, Tess, and I are off in our own little world as we dance, and have fun with each other. Not a care in the world who is watching us, or the ones desperate to join in. After a few hours I need a breather, so I walk over to a log along the edge of the beach. Making sure to stay within steps of the other girls as well.

I've only been sitting there for a minute when someone else sits down on the other end of this, maybe three foot long, log. Basically, a little too close for comfort for the old Abbie, but this new me wants change. Preferably while I still have some liquid courage left! In fact, I discreetly move my gaze to look out of the corner of my eyes at the person, and I almost stop breathing!

The guy sitting beside me looks like one of those All-American Teen Gods! Perfectly styled chocolate colored hair cut short, but longer on top. Green eyes, dimpled smile, and chiseled lines from his chin to his toes. He's even wearing the uniform: Polo shirt, khaki shorts, and leather loafers.

Mystery man must feel my heated gaze traveling the length of his body mentally devouring him, because he catches me with a smile on his face. Instantly I advert my eyes while turning beet red, and trying to hide my embarrassment in my hair. Only this stranger has a different idea. He scoots closer to me, and leans down placing his mouth above my ear.

"Hi." He whispers in a slightly deep voice that still sounds new, and unused, also.

"Hello." I say softly looking at him under my lashes, and flaming red cheeks still.

He gives me a big smile, and offers me his hand in greeting. "Otis Quiency Livingston Ⅲ, but everyone just calls me Skip."

I start to choke up while desperately trying to hide my giggles at his name. While still remembering to slide my hand inside his, and speak. "Nice to meet you Skip. I'm Abbie Black."

Skip lifts our hands up to his lips fast, but leaves a slow, lingering kiss behind. Before pulling back an inch, and looking up into my eyes. "I know this may sound corny, but I must say. That's a beautiful name, for a beautiful lady."

With that I lose the fight not to laugh, and after several tense moments, so does he. I try to calm down quickly to explain, because I don't want to hurt his feelings. Only I'm still giggling as I talk.

"I'm So..Haha..I'm sorry, I really shou..haha..shouldn't laugh. Thanks, I guess, but you're right, that line was terrible!"

Skip sits up with a look of outrage on his face, but doesn't let go of my hand.

"Line! Who said anything about that being a pickup line? I really meant that, and now you've hurt my feelings." Wiggling his bottom lip to add to my guilt.

All the humor drains from my face, and embarrassment replaces it. "Oh No! I'm sorry. I didn't mean that. Just ignore me I'm horrible at thi.."

Skip goes from almost crying to giving me a look that screams got-cha! "Hey, Hey I'm just playing! And, why would I ignore you? You look like the most interesting person I've met so far."

"Really?" I asks in a sassy manner. While crossing my arms over my chest not believing this for a minute!

Skip leans closer to me like he doesn't want anyone else to hear. "Can I tell you a secret?" He pauses looking at me, so I just shake my head yes wordlessly. "I hate big groups like this. I've always been more of a loner."

"Really?" The word sounds a lot lighter this time, and I let my hands fall to my sides.

Which Skip swiftly cradles back in his before speaking. "Truly. I'm an only child from a  small town in Vermont."

"Couldn't be any smaller than Deep Valley, Virginia!" I say with a smile fully letting my guard down.

Skip and I talk non-stop after that. I find out he's twenty years old, a junior at Harvard, co-captain of the rowing team, and Pre-Med like me. He's here with the rest of his team mates, so he's been couch surfing between their summer homes for the week. We truly have so much in common with one another it's almost freaky!

Skip and I sit there for hours. Sharing stories, drinking a few more shots, and enjoying each other. After a while the DJ starts to play an old R&B song from the turn of the century. Skip stands up right away, pulling me up with him, wrapping my arms around his neck, while placing his around my waist just above my ass. Then looking at me with a devilish smile.

   "Dance with me?"

I just chuckle while tightening my grip around his neck. "Sure."

Before long we're five or six songs in oblivious to the party going on around us. My head is against his chest, and his hands are continuously moving up and down, even under my sweatshirt. My body is a slave to the beat following it until my hips are grinding into him.

Who gives me another surprise with his growing dick rising up to seek the growing wetness between my legs. In seconds Skip's hard shaft is nestled between us as we continue to dance through another song. The movements of our bodies continue to get harder and hotter with each new beat. Until the song finally ends, and Skip leans down to whisper in my ear.

"You wanna get out of here?"

I completely forget about Joss and Tess, and let my body answer for me. "Yes."

Before the word leaves my lips Skip is giving me a hot, sloppy, fiery kiss full of promises. We're both breathless when Skip releases me, and takes a step back. Then he grabs my hand, and starts pulling me along behind him.

Skip sets off at a run towards the docks, but soon realizes I can't keep up with his long legs, so he carries me in his arms the rest of the way. Not letting me go until we make it to the end of the pier where the bigger boats are docked, and helps me aboard the second to last yacht to the end.

That night I gave Skip, the stranger I'd just meet, my virginity. We connected on a level of complete understanding unlike any I've ever shared with another guy. My mom always told me you make your first time special, and I can actually say it was.

I didn't tell Joss or Tess afterward, no one knew but Skip and I. When we finally came back to the party about an hour later I don't even think either of them actually knew I'd gone. When the three of us got ready to leave that night I didn't care if they saw the kiss Skip and I shared though, but neither of them said anything so I guess they didn't. I'll find out for sure tomorrow on the ride back in!

By the time second semester ends I'm a completely different person than the one who walked through that door at the beginning of the year. I can't wait to go home, and show my mom how happy I am. How much I've grown into a person I'm proud to be.
Joss packs her final box and set it by the door. Joss is moving into an apartment with some of her Pre-Law buddies at the start of next semester, so I'll be getting a new roommate when I come back.

Joss and I help load each other's stuff into our cars before hugging each other goodbye. Promising to call each other during the summer break, and meeting up for drinks as soon as we both got back into town. I blow Joss a kiss, and tell her I can't wait. Before giving her one final hug then getting in my car to leave.

My freshman year has flew by like a breeze, and I couldn't be prouder. I can't wait to come back in the fall, and do it all over again!
