Chapter Six -Innocent Flames-
3rd person
The cafeteria was the exact same as when everyone left, except for the cart at the center of the room. It was piled with expensive looking food. Y/n could practically smell it a mile away, smiling softly. She didn't exactly get to eat the rabbit she cooked, maybe because she dropped it in the mini fire, the instructor screamed at her. The girl didn't understand why people seemed to hate her, and she didn't know why. Her smile dropped slightly, it wasn't just the officials, anyone she met. "You alright?" Ty, still clutching her hand, asked in a sweet tone. "Y-yeah!" She quickly replied, smiling. "You don't have to do this." She said, changing the subject. The boy chuckled, "But I like doing this. If you're all right with me holding your hand." She smiled a little more, "I'm fine with it." "I'm not." Growled a boy a few feet away, anger clear in his voice. No one heard him, of course. He grudgingly jerked his brown hair out of his eyes, his head swarming with thoughts. Mitch tried piecing everything together, on what the strange boy said. Remember the pure of heart, don't let it taint. Of course, the 'Pure of Heart' was Y/n, with her perfect E/c eyes, and her beautiful H/c H/l hair. The taint was Ty. With his demon eyes, and his stupid smug look. Mitch fumed, almost punching a boy who bumped into him. He just huffed angrily, looking back at the sick scene in front of him. Y/n holding his hand. That should be me. Mitch thought. He paused, th person behind him slammed into him. "WATCH IT!" A boy yelled. Mitch, having enough, spun around and swung a punch. The boy went down, crying out in pain. Blood trickled down his face. People gasped, backed away, or just stared. The official leading them, Lachlan, was it? He shoved his way threw the crowd, stopping when he seen bloody boy. Mitch cringed, stepping back. Lachlan raised his eyes to meet his, and....and laughed. He shook his head slightly, "We need more people like you, Mr. Hughes." Than, he simply turned around, walking away. A girl bent down to help him. Mitch hissed, turning around, having enough. Ty pulled Y/n into the cafeteria, saying, "Wanna sit with me?" Y/n hesitated, blushing, "S-sur-" He was suddenly shoved away from her, his hand wrenched away. She gasped slightly, stepping back. She could feel someone replace that spot where Ty was. "Sit with me! Th-there's something I have to ask you?" It was Mitch. He spoke as if it was a question, as if he made it up on the spot. Ty, regaining his posture, grabbed the blind girls hand, entwining their fingers. The girl blushed, trying to pull away slightly. Ty easily held her like that, smirking, "Sorry, Mitchy, she already said yes to me!" His voice was unnaturally harsh, making the girl flinch. He didn't even regard her, practically hissing. Mitch opened his mouth to retaliate, but Y/n beat him to it. "I can sit with both of you, you know. And sit between you two....just a thought." Ty growled, but agreed threw gritted teeth, "What a wonderful idea!" He turned around, practically dragging Y/n behind him. She protested quietly, tripping slightly. Mitch quickly grabbed her free hand, entwining their fingers as well. Y/n didn't bother protesting, seeing it wouldn't matter. The three took a seat, Mitch to her left, Ty the right, and Y/n in the middle. Y/n sat quietly, trying to ignore the tension in the air. Now, Little Y/n was innocent, she didn't really understand that two boys were fighting for her love. She assumed they just hated each other. "What did you want to ask me" She finally said, turning to Mitch. "Yeah," Ty chimed in, "What'd you want to say, Mitchy?" Mitch scowled at him, but his voice was soft towards Y/n, "Nothing, nothing at all." She shrugged it off, changing the subject, "Are we aloud to eat yet?" Right on time, Lachlan announced to grab your trays. Y/n began to get up, when she was instantly interrupted by the two. Both yelled simultaneously, "I'LL GET IT!"
Lachlan sneaked away whilst everyone ate and socialized. He knew he had to be quick. He slipped into the bathrooms, where there were no cameras. He walked in, shutting the door, locking it as well. The bathrooms near the cafeteria were classic single ones, so he'd be alone. Lachlan grinned to himself, his eyes glinting dangerously. He pulled a folded up paper out of his pockets, and a lighter. He flicked the button, causing a bright orange flame to ignight. He smirked, smoothing out the paper, and hovering it over the flames. Instantly, the fire catches it, traveling up it, leaving a trail of ashes behind it. Soon, nothing is there. Only grey ashes sprinkled around remains. Lachlan chuckled softly, whispering to himself, "One step at a time...My dear Y/n."
