Chapter Five -Mysteries and Horrors-
3rd person
Y/n spent the rest of the day learning about how to survive. How to cook, how to build a shelter, how to fight people, and more. Some things were hard, she had to emit. Her disability didn't help with anything. At all. "Y/n?" Jex snapped, "Are you listening!?" She hesitated, "N-no, sorry."The white haired girl rolled her eyes, "I was saying, do you need help?" The girl looked down at the heavily bleeding fake arm she held, resembling a person. Not that she could actually see it, the move was made out of habit. "I'm fine." She said, feeling for the needle and thread. We probably wont even get needles, she thought grudgingly, or thread. Regardless, she stuck it threw the 'skin', rather violently, the action caused more fake blood to spurt out. "Geez!" Her friend laughed, "If you you do that to yourself, you'll just make it worse!" "Good..." Y/n growled to herself. Jex shuddered slightly, turning back to her torso. They didn't get an entire body, just parts. Hers was ripped open, the fake organs falling out. It should be fatal, but she heard stories of actual people surviving their lungs being ripped out. She knew it was fake, of course, but it kept her content to think she could survive that. The girls chatted quietly. Y/n, hesitantly, began a story of her childhood. "I....had a happy family, once. We were wealthy, and close. My life as perfect. I was happy. I...I could see. I vagually remember our house..." She hesitated, "I-It was white, with a pretty light blue roof. We had flowers everywhere. Roses, I think...maybe violets. I can't really remember. I had a sister, Joy, she as seven when it happened. I was thirteen..." She trailed off. Jex remained quiet, listening respectively. Y/n continued, distracting herself with the arm, pulling the wound shut with thread, "I remember it being a dark night, Joy and I were asleep in our beds We had bunk beds at the time, heh, she was afraid of the dark. I-I...I heard screams down stairs. Then my father ran into the room, yelling for us to get out. I jumped out of bed, Yanking Joy towards me. I didn't know what was happening, but it was bad. My father was covered in blood...I couldn't tell if it was his or not. It didn't matter. Someone as behind him.....they wore all black...and...a-and..." Tears brimmed her eyes, and she started shaking. "I-I'm sorry..." She whispered, "I-I...I can't.." Jex gently took the items from her hands, pulling the girl into a hug, "It's alright, you don't have to continue. Ant me to tell you a story about a kitten I once had? Her name was Ladybug." Y/n smiled slightly, nodding. Jex started to tell the story, how her kitty got her name. She ate a Ladybug when she was little, getting the name. But...Y/ns mind was elsewhere. She distantly hoped no one saw her crying. One did however. Maroon eyes glinting mischievously, he smirked slightly, sinking back into the shadows. A sudden, shrill voice broke into the room, "ATTENTION! TRAINING HOURS ARE OVER. PLEASE LINE UP TO GO TO THE CAFETERIA." Everyone did. "Let me help you!" A male vice instantly said, grabbing her hand. Y/n blush, realizing it was Ty. "A-alright, thank you." She stuttered, letting him hold her hand hesitantly, Jex giggled, "I'll just, eh, go." Y/n wanted to scream for her to come back, but held her tongue. Mitch, standing a few feet away, bubbled with rage. He was planning to do the same thing, but the demon eyed brat beat him to it. Speaking of the devil, literally, Ty flashed him a grin, gently pulling Y/n away. "Seems like a feud's brewing." A small voice murmured. He glanced over to see a small boy walk past. He wore a strange grey and purple robe, the hood flipped up to hide his features. "Remember the pure of heart, don't let it taint." The boy continued, not breaking his stride. "W-wait!" Mitch said, jumping forward to ask what the strange boy meant. But, he was already melting into the crowd. Mitch could do nothing but stand there in dazed state. The pure of heart? Taint? The phrase shocked him, made him think. Surely he didn't mean...Y/n? Or...did it?
The group was herded to the cafeteria. Sharp blue eyes wafted over them, examining them. Lachlan smirked, they all looked weak. "You think she can win?" "Hell no!" He snapped his attention to the conversation. A boy with brown hair tied back, and another boy with black hair, slightly covering one of his chocolate colored eyes. Lachlan chuckled, were they talking about little Y/n? "I dunno man." The brown eyed one started, "Did you see the way she beat up Mitch? And with nothing but a stick!" The other considered it, "Yeah....that was pretty awesome. I still don't think she can win...but I think she'll get pretty far into the games!" His grin dropped into a sneer, that wasn't the response he wanted. He'll make sure those two die.
Y/n staid close to Ty, holding his hand. Not that she wanted too, honestly, she found it kinda weird. Scary even. But not of Ty, but herself. She was a blushing, stuttering mess. This wasn't something she was used too. Not after hat happened. No. Never again. Never...Again.
