It was the very next morning. Most of the group sat around the table as Rick stumbled in, recovering from a hangover.

T-Dog: It's only powdered eggs, but I do 'em good.

He starts serving some of you eggs as Glenn groans in agony from his hangover. Jacqui begins massaging his shoulders.

T-Dog: Protein helps.

You: I told you to stop drinking last night, Glenn. You took a swig every time we made you draw four.

Glenn: Ugh.....

You remember last night's game. Clementine was right, she was a master. She won five of the games.

Shane then walked in soon after.

Rick: How are you feeling?

Shane: Worse.

T-Dog notices the scratch on his neck.

T-Dog: What the hell happened to you?

Shane: Must've done it in my sleep.

He sat down at the table. You keep looking down as you eat your eggs. You know Lori gave him those scratches.

Rick: I've never seen you do that.

Shane: No....not like me at all.

Shane gives a look at Lori, who's also looking away.

Dr. Jenner then walks in.

Edwin: Morning.

Clementine: Morning, Doctor.

Dale: Hey, doc. I know we shouldn't be asking questions....

Edwin: But you're going to ask them anyway....

Andrea: We didn't come for the eggs.

Edwin looks back, and nods.

Edwin: Follow me.

Dr. Jenner leads the group back to Zone 5, and turns on the computers.

Edwin: Vi, bring up the display of Test Subject 19.

The screen starts to show a top-secret brain-scan video of someone who was infected and allowed the process of reanimation to be recorded. Edwin explains how the infection attacks the brain and kills the human part of you. Then later, it restarts the brain. Allowing the host to move around.

Then the feed shows a bullet going through the test subject. Edwin explains he put the subject down.

You: And what about other facilities? Did they go down as well?

Edwin: I've lost contact. Communications have gone dark for almost a month. Seems like they're gone too.

Dale then looks at the digital clock that's been counting down and asks Dr. Jenner about it. He explains that when it reaches zero the generators run out of fuel, but his tone of voice says he's been untruthful.

Andrea then asks Vi what happens when the clock reaches zero, in which she explains that a plant-wide decontamination will occur.

Rick decides to take T-Dog and Daryl to check out the generators, while everybody goes back to their rooms.

It didn't take long until the power started shutting off. The group follows Dr. Jenner as he enters Zone 5 again.

Edwin: It was the French.

Andrea: What?

Edwin: They were the last ones to hold out, they were close to finding a solution....then the power grid went out.

The clock reaches its final minutes.

Edwin explains that when it reaches zero, the whole building will decontaminate by turning the air into fire. This will kill everybody in there.

Rick: Everybody get your things! We're leaving!

Edwin: You can't leave. Once those doors close, they stay closed.

Glenn: You can't do this!

You join Shane and Daryl as they try to break the lab doors open with melee weapons.

Edwin: There's no hope out there. Why suffer out there and die a horrible death than stay here....and do it painlessly.

Shane runs up to Edwin and aims a rifle at his face.

Shane: Open the goddamn doors!

Lori holds Carl as Carol does the same to Sophia.

Rick tries to calm Shane down.

Rick: Shane! If you kill him....we're never getting out of here.

Shane lowers his gun and scoffs. Rick turns to Edwin.

Rick: You said there's no hope....why did you stay then?

Edwin: I made a promise....to my wife. She was Test Subject 19. It should've been me on that table....she was one of the finest scientists here. Me? I'm just Edwin Jenner.

You walk up to Edwin.

You: We have to give hope a chance....we have to keep it going.

You point at the kids.

You: They should have a chance to live.

Edwin looks at you, then at Rick. He then goes over to his computer and presses a button. The shutters open.

Daryl: Come on!

You run over to Clementine and run with her outside. Rick stays back as Edwin whispers something in his ear.

You are in the lobby of the CDC. The doors are still locked.

BANG!

You shoot at the windows, but they're bulletproof.

Shane: Stand back!

BLAM!

Shane shoots at the window with his shotgun, but it still doesn't break.

Carol: I think I got something.

Shane: I don't think a nail file is going to work.

Carol pulls out a grenade, and hands it to you.

Carol: I found it in Rick's uniform when I washed it.

You nod.

You: Stand back!

You pull the pin on the grenade, and place it near the glass.

You: Oh fuck....

You run away and take cover.

BOOM!

The blast breaks open the window. You start leaving with the rest of the group.

You run towards the vehicle as you carry your bag over your shoulder and start shooting walkers.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

You're nearing a blockade when you look around and realize that Dale, Andrea, and Jacqui are missing. You start running back.

Rick: Y/N! Where are you going?!

Clementine looks back as well, and decides to follow you.

You run a few yards towards the building until you finally see Dale and Andrea leap out of the window.

You: Dale! Andrea!

Dale: Get down!

You remember that the building is about to blow up. You quickly turn around and grab Clementine as the both of you launch yourselves behind a military blockade.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

The CDC building starts to collapse as it's overcome with explosions. Once it's clear, you help Clementine up.

You: You okay?

Clementine: Yeah....thanks.

Glenn: Guys! Come on!

You start running towards the RV. Dale and Andrea follow close behind.

You let Clementine, Andrea, and Dale enter the RV first before you go in and close the door. The RV starts to drive away as the caravan follows.

Clementine: Where's Jacqui?

Dale: She....didn't want to leave.

You look down, and bury your face into your hands.

Glenn: My god....

Dale looks at you.

Dale: I heard what you said to Jenner. You want to keep hope alive.

You look up back at Dale.

You: And I'm going to keep living by it. No matter how bad it is out there....we need to keep it alive. Especially when we have each other.

You look at Clementine as you finish your statement and she smiles.

Dale: Well said, kid.

The caravan keeps on moving down the road, as you wonder what lies ahead.
