The Oasis was now free from William Carver's tyranny.

For the next few days, you took the time to fix any infrastructure that needed fixing after the attack on the Oasis. People began burying bodies of those that were lost, even soldiers of Carver's that didn't surrender.

Walkers also started to show up because of all the gunfire. Omid lead a group to handle them and watch the perimeter.

You and Clementine were at the commissary building, sorting out supplies with other Oasis citizens. Louis was nearby talking to another guy he meet yesterday. His name was Aasim.

Louis: Heads up.

Before you knew it, Louis tossed a can of food and you caught it.

Louis: That goes in there.

He points at a crate behind you.

You: A simple 'hey can you put this over there' would have been great.

Clementine chuckles at you and Louis's conversation. Aasim just stands idly by.

Louis: I'll remember next time, drama queen.

You laugh, and go over to place the van in the crate.

For a moment, you look at your left hand and look at your bandaged ring finger. The tip of it was long gone, but it'll be a scar that will remind you of the day you helped liberate the Oasis.

Suddenly, Lee and Alvin walk in.

Alvin: Hey, Y/N.

You turn around and greet them.

You: Hey, Alvin. Lee. You guys going to lend a hand in here?

Lee: Sure, we just need to announce something first.

You did notice Lee and Alvin talking to people in the community for the last few days. You figured they were just getting insight on the situation.

Lee called out to the people in the room, and people gave their attention.

Alvin: We have an announcement to make.

Lee then continued.

Lee: Many of you here have probably been approached by somebody asking about the vote. We're here to announce the result.

You look at Clementine.

You: Vote?

Clementine just smiles, not saying anything.

Lee: A majority of people agreed on who they believe should lead us. With Carver gone, they wanted somebody who knows how to lead and can put the interests of the people at the forefront.

Lee took a breath.

Lee: This man put his life towards the cause that Luke built, and honored his legacy in such a way that he succeeded in achieving his goal. He freed us from our oppressors.

Lee then looked at you.

Lee: The people have chosen Y/N L/N to be the leader of the Oasis. The new Chancellor.

You were in awe, and simply chuckled. The people in the room looked at you and started applauding.

Clementine just looked at you. She found it funny how speechless you were.

Clementine: Go on up there, you dork.

You smile, and go up to the front of the room where Lee and Alvin stand.

Alvin: Anything you want to say?

You look at the crowd. You didn't know for sure what to say at first, but you spoke anyway.

You: Thank you. Thank you for believing in me.

You sighed, and continued to speak.

You: To be able to make it this far, for us to be alive today, it took courage and sacrifice from each one of us. We remember those we've lost, by living on each day for them. There was a point in my life where I thought all hope was lost....

You look at Clementine.

You: ....but I had people to tell me that it wasn't.

You remember Rick Grimes, the man who took you under his wing right after the farm. You remember everything he said and did as a leader.

You: I once knew this man, he knew what to do in the face of danger. For every trial and tribulation that came his way, he knew how to tackle it. I want to be able to do the same. It doesn't matter how many walkers are out there....how many raiders with guns....we will all find a way to get through it. Together.

You look on at the rest of the crowd.

You: For the Oasis.

Crowd: For the Oasis.

You give a nod, and they continue to work on sorting supplies. You turn to Lee and Alvin.

Alvin: Great speech, JFK.

You chuckle.

You: So, chancellor, huh?

Lee: I thought that seemed cool. What? You want president, or governor?

You shake your head at the last option.

You: God, no. I'll stick with chancellor.

It was dawn. You were on the roof of the conference center, looking over the community.

You stood in the same spot that Carver died at. You look down and still see the faint blood stains.

???: Never thought I'd see you up here again.

You turn around and see Clementine. She walks up and stands beside you.

You: The view is nice. You can see the airstrip from here.

Clementine points.

Clementine: Even Louis, there.

You look, and see Louis in the distance playing soccer with a couple other people....or at least trying to.

You both chuckle, and look on at the skyline.

Clementine: So, chancellor, what's your plan from here on out?

You: That's still crazy to me, being the leader of a community at like....19.

You then reply to her question.

You: In a generic sense, I just have to lead this place in the right direction....

You then turn to Clementine and put an arm around her.

You: ....with you by my side.

Clementine puts her head on your shoulder.

Clementine: So, am I like, Miss Chancellor or something?

You: We can work something out.

You both laugh, and then kiss.
