she was incandescence beautiful and beauty was the least of her
AFTER FINDING OUT that she was not gone for only a few weeks, but instead, the whole summer, Hope was more than surprised. And that is why the three of them decided to go to the cafeteria to go get some much needed food.
As soon as they walked into the kitchen to grab the food, Hope paused upon seeing the gang standing their, chatting. She gulped and began to panic slightly, especially when Lizzie made eye contact with her.
"Hope Andrea Mikaelson!" Elizabeth Saltzman exclaimed which made everyone turn to Hope, their eyes widening at the sight of her. "Get your ass over here!" She moved towards Hope and pulled her into a hug, her arms wrapping around the much smaller girl, embracing her. She sighed and laid her head on Hope's head. "How's the weather down there?"
Hope chuckled and pushed the taller blonde away from her, shaking her head with a fond smile. "Oh, how I missed your teases, lizzie."
That was when Malia stepped forward with a smirk, looking Lizzie up and down with her sparkling brown eyes. "This is the Lizzie you're always talking about?"
Lizzie awed, placing a hand over her heart. "You talked about me?" When Hope nodded shyly, she wiped away a fake tear. "I didn't know I meant that much to you."
"You're an idiot, Liz," Hope said with a playful eyeroll. She then smirked over at Malia who was obviously checking the blonde out. "Oh, um, this is Malia Hale. We met in Malivore."
"What are you?" Lizzie bluntly asked, looking the brunette in the eyes, trying to not smile.
"Lizzie!" Josie snapped quietly as she grabbed her sister's hand. "She didn't mean to make it sound rude."
Malia tilted her head at Josie before looking up at the blonde slightly. She was just a few inches shorter than Lizzie which meant a lot of forehead kisses — not that she was thinking about that, though. "I'm a werecoyote." She flashed her blue eyes and Lizzie's eyes widened in fascination.
"Really?" She asked, excited. "I don't like reading that much, but I've been studying about different species, especially after Malivore disappeared. I learned so much about your kind. Is it true that you can turn into an actual coyote?"
Malia nodded, her short hair bobbing slightly. "Yes. I don't really prefer it though. It takes something tragic to turn myself into it."
Lizzie nodded, though, it was obvious she had many questions. "I totally can't wait to see you in action!"
Malia slyly smirked at that. "In front of all these people. Damn, you're courageous. At least buy me a drink first."
Lizzie was trying to not smile or blush at that whole Hope was covering her mouth, trying to not laugh at this whole situation.
"That's not what I meant!" Lizzie protested, but Malia simply shrugged and moved forward, brushing Lizzie's hair out of her face. "Will you quit that!"
Malia tilted her head. "Am I making you nervous?"
Lizzie blushed heavily. "No!" She practically shouted and then closed her eyes, her cheeks red as a tomato.
Hope couldn't help herself when she laughed loudly at the situation, and even Clarke who was behind her, snorted.
"What is he doing here?!" Landon snapped as he pointed at Clarke who then glared over in the direction of his brother.
"Oh, what now, brother? You can't stand that I didn't parish along with Malivore? Sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm here to stay," Clarke told him, glancing around at everyone, but his eyes landed on Hope who had turned to look up at him with her big blue eyes that he had fallen in love with.
Oh, fuck — he thought with big eyes. Did he just say 'love'? Does he actually love her or is it just because they had just each other for such a long time?
"No," Landon shook his head, "I mean, what are you doing in this school? You don't belong here."
"And you do?" Clarke snapped, his eyes narrowed at his little brother. "You have nothing special about you. Sure, you come back to life after being killed, but so do I. I might not burst into flames, but I don't and can't die. Trust me, I have tried everything."
Hope's eyes almost popped out of her eyes as she turned to look up at Clarke again. "What?" She mumbled.
Clarke looked down at her, softening at her hurt expression. "What? You've never tried to kill yourself?"
"This just took a whole new turn and I'm not here for it," Kaleb stated as he pointed between them.
Hope frowned, because she knows she has before in the past, especially after her mother died, and then once again when her father died. But, she's gotten passed that.
"How are you?" Josie asked to change the subject, her eyes directly on Hope.
Hope smiled lightly over at the younger twin and nodded in appreciation. "Hungry."
"Me too," Clarke stated, sending a smirk over to Landon who let out a groan in annoyance. "Have something to say, bird boy?"
Landon huffed and rolled his eyes. "Yes. I'm wondering why Hope hasn't kicked you out yet."
Hope reached back and grabbed both Clarke's and Malia's hands. She shivered as spark went up both hers and Clarke's arms. "They're my friends and they're here to stay, Landon."
"Not to start a fight..." MG trialed off as he looked between them, raising an eyebrow. "But, um, why?"
Malia tilted her head. "Why, what?"
MG gulped as Malia stared him down before he looked back at Hope. "Why is he your friend?" His eyes widened gene Clarke scoffed. "No offense, dude, but you were the bad guy last time we saw you."
Hope massages Clarke's hand with her thumb subconsciously. "He's not the bad guy, he never was. He was just trying to please his father. We can all relate to that in one way or another..." She glanced back at Clarke with a fond smile. "Plus, he has saved my life multiple times. And so has Malia."
Lizzie was checking Malia out with a blush still on her cheeks before she turned to Hope. "Would you like to eat lunch with us?"
Hope brightened up at that. "Of course." She then deflated slightly and glanced over at everyone else. "That's if... you all want me — us."
MG smiled. "Nonsense. You are part of the supers-quad, Hope. You're always welcome!" He walked towards her and wrapped his arm around her shoulders, directing her towards the food. "And if Malia and and Clarke are your friends and you trust them, they can be part of the squad, too."
Hope smiled at Kaleb as he stood on the other side of her. "Thank you guys."
"Anything for you, girlie," Kaleb said with s grin.
"I missed you guys," Hope said with a sad sigh as she saw Lizzie and Josie start to gather her food.
"We missed you too, Mikaelson."
