Back At The Lair...

The three turtles brothers entered in silence, drowned in their own thoughts. Raph's feelings towards the situation couldn't be determined as there was a shadow over his face, Mikey was trembling while Donnie was just.. shocked. Shocked and confused.

Master Splinter was already waiting for their return in front of the dojo, he looked really concerned.

"My sons.. what has happened..?" Master Splinter asked, walking to his three sons. Raph looked down and didn't speak, in fact, none of them spoke a word. Master Splinter's ears went back as he narrowed his eyes at them. "My sons." Master Splinter said in a more serious voice.

Mikey looked up with tearful eyes, "D-Dad..." Mikey whimpered, he would call Master Splinter 'dad' only when he was truly sad or depressed, "L-Leo.. h-he's.."

"Leonardo is.. alive?" Splinter said in a surprised voice, but there was a hint of relief. Raph's face only darkened in sadness. "Raphael, Donatello, is this.. true?"

After a long pause of silence, Raph spoke. "S-Sensei... Leo.. he.." Raph couldn't find the courage to continue, as he started shaking. "H-He.."

"Leonardo what, Raphael..?" Splinter asked, in both confusion and worry.

"H-He.. j-joined Shredder..." Mikey whimpered and cried in Donnie's arms, Master Splinter couldn't process the information. "H-He almost k-killed Raph..." He added, sobbing harder. Master Splinter let the words sink in, and he felt a mixture of emotions: shock, sadness and anger, but nothing could compare to the break in his heart.

His eldest son.. joined his arch enemy...

Master Splinter didn't speak for a very long time, until he dismissed himself and locked his room door. He was more than sad, he was devastated.

Leonardo... Master Splinter thought sadly.

In The Middle Of The Night...

Raphael couldn't get any sleep after a nightmare he experienced a while back, his eye bags were visible as he just stared into his room walls. He couldn't describe how he was feeling, he felt betrayed. Betrayed by everything he believed of his older brother, turns out, he was just a traitor?

He exhaled out an exhausted and frustrated sigh and stood up, if he can't sleep then there's no use trying to. He put on his bandages, grabbed his sais and stealthily walked out of the lair for some air.

...

He jumped from rooftop to rooftop continuously, not caring if his body was weakened by fatigue, he just wanted to shake off the heavy feeling in his chest. But to no avail. He kept reminiscing on the face Leo had and the coldness in his voice when he spoke to them, Raph then suddenly tumbled down into an alley when he misplaced his foot. He crashed down into a garbage pile after his fall, instead of standing, he just stayed there.

He shut his eyes tiredly but he knew he couldn't stay here, he could be seen and maybe even captured. He stood up, finally, walking in the streets instead of going back to the rooftops, there were also most no people in the streets at this time.

"Raph?"

He stopped in his tracks, it was Dusk. The black wolf looked at Raph curiously, "What are you doing here so late?"

It was surprising to see Dusk actually socializing, but Raph didn't care. He didn't turn around, instead he just hung his head low. Dusk's ears went back slightly, he cautiously stepped towards Raph.

"What do you want, Dusk?" Raph asked in a low voice.

"I just wanted to talk a little." Dusk replied, Raph looked away and sighed. "Do you want to talk about what happened?"

"Not really." Raph muttered, shaking a little as he remembered the encounter.

"It might make you feel better." Dusk urged, there was a very long pause. Dusk shuffled his paws a little. "It's okay if.. you don't wanna talk about it."

Raph sighed deeply and tiredly, "Leo joined the Foot clan." He spoke. Dusk gasped in surprise. "After all this time, he was with our arch enemy who killed (Y/N)." Dusk could sense that Raph was tired, mentally and physically. His eye bags and body language proves it. Dusk put a paw on his shoulder, Raph started shaking.

"I.. know what it's like to be betrayed.." Dusk said quietly, "My parents left me and my sister when the Kraang attacked our home, we got mutated, and they just.. disappeared." Raph turned to, finally, look at Dusk. He saw a look of sadness in Dusk's eyes. "After that, I had to take care of Luria, she was very young when it happened."

"I'm.. so sorry, Dusk.." Raph trailed, Dusk nodded quietly.

"It's okay.. I guess I just couldn't get over it." Dusk smiled a little, sadly however. Raph smiled sadly too.

Author's POV

What Raph and Dusk didn't know, was that there was someone hiding in the shadows, watching them.
