Tory's POV

After the field trip we were invited by Hayden's family to go to his funeral. I didn't want to cry again but I couldn't help but feel it was my fault. A picture of him was hung in the church. His coffin lay there. Remember his last moments with me meant a lot. He still felt feelings towards me after everything. "I'll miss you." Those words rang in my head, again and again. "It's okay," Zaiden comforted me, telling me to go up and say my speech. "Thank you." I mouthed. Only my footsteps were heard echoing through the large building. "Hayden was one of my greatest friends. Although he would consider me something more. I appreciated him being there for me. He sacrificed himself for his friends and that means so much. I didn't have much time with him for his last moments but he told me he died trying to save us, he didn't try, he did. And I will always be grateful to him for my life because he traded his life for me to have mine. Although I would've done the same for him." I was holding in tears but I realized that I wasn't going to spend the rest of my life in despair. But I was going to be happy, for him. Aria patted me on the back and smiled sadly. Maryam didn't make it, she said she was busy. I was thinking that Jai was with her until he came late, running in. It was a dark day. I hope it'll end better for our next adventure.
