CHAPTER SEVEN
Tory's POV
The man's face was rough and startling. I stared at him for a few seconds before he stepped forward which made me frightened. "Who the fuck are you?!" I yelled, "nothing you need to worry about, and look where we are. Your face and my face, there's only one thing in common with them." He said, "What the hell does that mean?" I looked over at Maryam, "I don't have time to explain myself, another question and your friend dies." He grinned, slowly lowering his head to look at Maryam. "Are you crazy?!" His knife slowly dug into her skin, quickly ripping the knife out of her neck, blood trickling down. I could hear the pain she was in, but there was nothing I could do, for now at least. "You shit head!" I yelled at him, Maryam started to fall limp on the ground, shivering. I could see a stab wound from her lower back, her clothes were getting soaked. "Can never have enough knives." He smiled at me with a cold stare, I looked over at his other hand, a large butcher knife was held in his grip. "What the fuck..." I mumbled, quickly tripping him by kicking his foot hardly, "It's gonna take more to kill me, Kid." He wiped at his bloody lip that he bit into. "I wasn't trying to kill you." I looked around, scanning the area I was in but all I could see was blackness. "I was trying to distract you." I finished, his eyebrows furrowed as I kicked his groin. "Argh!" He yelped, grabbing at his "area". "Tory, you better stop right now or I'll kill you in a whole." The mans hand scrambled away, leaving behind the knife. I tripped a bit checking up on Maryam very quickly and grabbing the large butcher knife. "Stay away..." he panted, "why the hell would I do that?" I asked, stabbing the knife into the sol of his shoe. A wind sound pierced my cheek, my hands shook while I was reaching up to touch it, a little bit of blood at first but more as we continued to fight. I was slow and witty, I was thinking of what I was doing, he was just stabbing at me. I counted 5 cuts. One on my cheek, one on my shoulder, one at my stomach, another cut on my thigh and he last one on my back, a long but from the bottom to the top. Running across diagonal. "I won't..... give.... up." Taking breaths between words, my body ached and burned. I was about to give up, though I wasn't trying to show it. I've only hit him once after the last time, his feet felt numb as I had stabbed them both. Some blood on my hands started to dry up but my sweat kept liquifying it again, a dark burgundy color as blood dripped, I felt drained of energy. My knuckles were white and my hands were drained of red. They looked white, like a vampire. "Give up, Kid. Let's face it, lying isn't good on you." He chuckled as I grabbed at my stomach wound. "Don't worry, I'll make your death fast, your friend won't get the easy way out, though." Maryam gave me a signal, mouthing something to me I couldn't read. I understood the plan. Why did I get myself into this mess? It's all my fault, this is my fault. I was mad at Hayden and I flipped out for no reason at all. He was trying to comfort me and make me feel secure while I made myself with with nervousness of letting him go. I went the easy way out, though this isn't the easy way. I charged at him in full speed, I gasped in pain as I could feel a sharp feeling in my right shoulder. My hands relaxed as I tossed Maryam the knife I was holding, stabbing the knife into his chest more so to his right then his left. "Maryam, you.... idiot..." I managed to let out. "What? I killed him didn't I?" She asked me, "oh shit....." she said, flipping me over onto my stomach. Taking the knife out I felt a stinging that hurt more then before, as air rushed onto my wound. "Let's..... get the h—hell.... out of here." I grip my chest, as breathing became more difficult then before. "How the hell— oh never mind." The lock snapped open, I felt the cool fresh air of the outside again, taking all of the air I can in. "Well..... I guess we survived. Though you suffered more then I did. Uhhh especially with your cuts and bruises." She said, I let out a painful beam, "feel like..... agh.....a character in a actio—n movie or something." I fell onto the grass, "Yeah, I guess." Letting out a sigh, Maryam looked up at the path near us. "Wish our friends could see that, we looked badass." I regained my voice and balance. "Wish Jai was still my boyfriend." She rolled her eyes, "Got dumped?" I asked her, "Yeah," she answered, "ow!" I hollered, "we should probably go get some medical help." She suggested, "YOU THINK?" My voice coming out louder then I anticipated, she shrugged. We both ran, limping. My legs for already sore, we've been running for 3 minutes so far. There were only trees that surrounded us, no matter where we ran trees kept following us. "Dude, I think we're lost." I say, "You think?" She grinned, "you wanna hear a joke?" "No," I answered, giving her a warning glare. "What lights a soccer stadium?" She asked, smiling weirdly, "a—" "Maryam? Tory?" A voice called out, cutting off Maryam from finishing her joke. "Zaiden wrapped me in his arms, smiling happily. "You're serious? You guys cut off my joke!" She crosses her arms, I looked to Jai. He seemed more distant them the rest of the group. "Oh no, not this psycho again." Aria rolled her eyes at the sight of Maryam, "Oh shut up, Aria. No-" "Tory, what happened to you?" His eyebrows furrowed. "Hello? Stop interrupting!" Maryam groaned. Hayden was standing in the back staring at the ground, I've never seen him so down and into the ground that much ever. "I'm fine, I'll explain everything later." I said, "for now, I need to talk to Hayden, it's important to me that I do so." I smiling weakly at Zaiden, stepping aside for me to get through. "Hayden?" He looked up, blushing a little bit at the sight of me. "What do you want, Tory?" He asked me in a husky voice. "I just wanna make you feel better and clear things up a bit." I answered, "Rethink what you just said, Tory. I don't want to hurt you again." Hayden lifted up his head and looked up behind me. "Hayden, what's wrong?"
