CHAPTER EIGHT
Tory's POV
A look of shock crossed both our faces. "Hayden, you sure this isn't a prank?" I asked him nervously, fidgeting my hands while I continued to stare at the trees. "I don't do pranks." He said, there was a long moment of silence before I saw a dark figure again, running. "Run." I quickly whispered into his ear. A shiver ran through my spine. "What?" He questioned, a confused expression following his voice. "Run!" I grabbed at his hand with mine, sweat dripping from my face and running down my neck. Wiping it away with my shirt. Adrenaline was running through my body. "Tory, what's going on?" Hayden continued to ask me, I didn't have time to explain. "I'll tell you later, Hayden." We continued to run, all I could see around me were trees, leaves and gravel. My heart was aching, I couldn't go any farther. I could still hear a shuffling noise behind us, it was slowing down. As soon as I saw other students walking around the footsteps were gone and the figure disappeared into the forest. "Mind telling me what's going on now?" I gazed at his stern face, "Our friends are kidnapped." I said, "you're joking right?" "No," "I wish I moved sooner so I didn't have to be apart of this." He rubbed his eyes hardly. Just those words made me wanna go home and stay in bed all day. "Hayden..." my eyebrows furrowed, my voice quiet and soft. "We need you." I said, starting to wrap my arms around him for a hug. "They need me? Or do you need me?" His eyes squinted slightly, my voice emotionless. "C'mon, Tory. Do you really want me to help them? Or do you just want me to stick around. You can't lie. It's a sin." He detached my arms from him, walking away from me silently. As he made me think of his words, I wonder is he right?
Sorry for the short chapter, I might update on Monday or Tuesday. We'll see.
