Untitled Part 3

I do not own destiny.

He watched as she packed some of her things, the majority of them anyways. She planned on coming back, she told him this time and time again but he still didn't believe her. And thus the idea of leaving quite a few of her things behind came to be. She promised that as long as they were here she would return. He was going to keep her up on this promise. He made his way out to their ships and began loading her belongings onto hers. All in all, he was disappointed. He didn't want to say goodbye to his friend. But she needed to do this, the past year it had been hard on her watching her sister fall and struggle to get back to her feet.

It hadn't been so bad when they had first began observing her, but the last year something had changed and she was visibly suffering. He was interested in why it had changed so drastically, because by his calculations she should have made it the full two years on that leg before showing full visible distress. He knew it had been a massive blow to Kira when her sister had collapsed and began heaving oil. It had been disturbing to him as well knowing there was something he could do to help but he couldn't. he was still perfecting the leg and knew it wouldn't be done for a long time to come. For Kira's sake he hoped that he could finish the leg in time.

The original leg he had experimented with fried the moment the light was introduced to it. As did the second and third ones. Spider basically dumped a supply of left exo legs on him after he kept coming back for them. He watched as Kira brought more things, including the set of armor he had made for her. He nodded approvingly at this. She motioned for him to help her once more and he did, once all her things were on board she turned to him once more and smiled.

He stepped onto his ship and followed her to the tower. Once they got there though, he was concerned for her safety when a group of guardians rushed to greet them. Greet them wasn't the right word honestly, they had their weapons drawn fully intending on a fight. He assumed it was because two awoken ships showed up out of nowhere, but when Kira stepped out, he realized it was only his ship they were aimed at. Of course...

He sighed and decided to step out of his own ship, to greet the three in front of course. He stepped down and looked over the three of them. Kira rushed to stand by his side in case anything went wrong, but he knew it wouldn't. "So the queen has you delivering ghosts and guardians now does she?" he knew that voice, Cayde-6. He withheld the urge to show how he felt about that hunter in particular. His eyes landed on the human woman to the right of the man before him, Ikora Rey, a woman with a mind for intellect. And lastly, he looked over the titan before him with unamused eyes. Zavala.

"No, the only reason I am bringing Kira here is because she requested it. The ghost-" "Pulled Pork." "Yes... Pulled Pork, I rescued him from someone who would rather have seen him dismantled, so I figured he would be safer surrounded by guardians who knew how to protect him." Uldren sighed, slightly amused by Kira's interjection. She smiled over at him, but he kept his arms crossed over his chest. He was not about to show them that the small human beside him was a weakness for him. Because in all reality she was, he would drop everything to save her because no one had kept him on his toes like she did. Much less want to be his friend.

"I see... While we are grateful for what you have done, we need to discuss something." Zavala said and he watched the man intently before motioning for them to follow him into his ship. The vanguard followed, but he motioned for Kira to remain outside and wait. He turned to the three and crossed his arms over his chest once more. "What is it that you need?" he asked and they were silent for a moment before Cayde opened his mouth to speak once more, but Zavala held an arm out and silenced him. "I did not cause the loss of your previous hunter vanguard, so if you wish to accuse me of that I will have to ask you to leave. I brought you here to speak privately because I feel like whatever it is that you want to talk about may actually be important." He said and Zavala nodded.

"Prince Uldren... Many years ago we banished Osiris from the tower with the belief that he was mad, but we are now seeing signs that he may in fact not be." Ikora said softly and he nodded. He knew Osiris well, the man was eccentric to a point but he was not mad. "We wish to be able to communicate with you and the queen during these times to keep things like the Hellmouth and Twilight Gap from happening again." Zavala said and he watched them silently, only to turn away and begin typing. Not long after Mara's image appeared to them and she crossed her arms over her chest as she looked over the ones in his ship.

The hologram of her was full size and he enjoyed how the three of them instantly fell into a more respectful stance. Ikora even greeting her as her highness. He watched as his sister stood before Zavala, their commanding presences conflicting visibly, however after a moment he seemed to back off slightly. "We wish to have a better way of communication with you, Mara." Zavala said and he was slightly miffed at the lack of respect he held for his sister. Who looked over at him with an amused gaze. "I have one of his most revered titans telling me bedtime stories, brother... why would he show me so much respect." She laughed and both Cayde-6 and Ikora looked at her image with shock on their features. He felt that bedtime stories was code for something, but he didn't want to know in the slightest.

'Sex dear brother, it's code for him lulling me to sleep by use of-' yeah no he was blocking at from his mind. The other occupants must have noticed his sudden disgust and showed a slight humor.

He fixed his face and crossed his arms over his chest once more. His mind drifted to the titan he had seen grieving the ahamkara and he wondered if that was the one his sister spoke of. The man was respectable at least. "Brother," she called out and he looked up to see her in his face with a wicked smirk on her lips and a wild light in his eyes. Yep... that was the one. He was disgusted with her but at least the man was respectable. "You have spare technology you use to commune with me, yes?" she asked, looking back to the others in the room, completely disregarding their internal conversation once more.

"Yes. Let me get it." He said and made his way to the storage racks to pull the compact holo table from them. He offered it to Cayde, but Ikora took it from his grasp. "We don't let you touch anything technology wise, not anymore Cayde." Ikora mused and the hunter seemed irate. Even as though he was pouting, which amused him to no end. "You can communicate with me at any given moment with this, I will always answer. However it would only be polite to answer yourselves if I call." Mara said and Uldren watched as the three nodded.

"Good. Then I believe my business is concluded here. Oh, before I go, Kira is searching for two guardians. One by the name of Loki and the other by the name of Ashura." Mara said and Zavala watched her curiously. "They are her siblings. She wants to be reunited with them." Uldren said and Zavala nodded. "They are both currently on Venus, she will find them there." He said and Uldren nodded. "Mara. We have other business to inform you of before you go." Zavala called out, seeing as the woman's image was reaching for something.

She turned back to them and awaited whatever they had to tell her. "The Prophecies of Osiris are beginning to come true." Ikora said and his sister was immediately intrigued by this. "Really..." she mumbled, only to look back at him once more. "Tell me more, which ones?" she asked and Zavala seemed to be slightly relieved that she stuck around. "Queen of Kells and The Lucky Seven." Uldren had only heard of those, never had he read the books themselves. "Really?" Mara's voice sounded excited, like this were something truly important. Zavala nodded to her and her whole being seemed to fill with some sort of excitement he couldn't understand.

"Tell me all about the Queen of Kells." She said and Ikora stepped forward to speak this time. "She arrived almost two years ago. We truly believe it is her, because when she arrived she spoke of having visions in her sleep. However it has come to our attention that she only has these visions when she dies, she doesn't realize she is dying either." Ikora explained and Mara's eyes lit up. "Do the fallen follow her?" She asked and Uldren looked at her curiously. The fallen? Why would they follow a guardian?

"As of right now, no. But... she is kind and sympathetic towards them. That may be my fault because I told her not to kill them unless they shot first." Cayde-6 said and Mara nodded. "Good. This opens so many doors. What can I do to help with this guardian?" Mara asked and Zavala seemed distrustful. He looked to his sister and she seemed to realize what Zavala wanted. "Uldren, step out." She commanded, but when he opened his mouth to argue she sent him a look that made even him fear her. "Yes... Sister." He grumbled, only to look Cayde-6 in the eye and warn him not to steal anything to supply his gambling habits.

He stepped out of his ship and looked to see Kira watching him intently.

Mara watched the three before her. "Keep Uldren away from her at first. We would rather her not kill him." Zavala said and Mara released a laugh. "You think she could kill him? She's supposed to love him." Mara mused, but Zavala's face showed no sign of amusement. "What are you not telling me?" she asked and Ikora sighed. "It's Ashura Reyes." Mara's eyes lit up once more. "I see, then that will be fine. She will come to us eventually. Kira has vowed to show them to my humble home. However, if things start to get to where I don't think the two of them can be in the same room, I will bar them being around one another." Mara said and this seemed to please Zavala.

"Ok, but like... I like Ashura... she's a great guardian, especially since I see myself in her." He said and Mara scoffed lightly. "A good guardian? Cayde... You calling her that and being a gambling addict who continuously goes and disobeys authority directly to their faces..." she shook her head as she thought this over. "Fine. I will keep them separated as long as possible, but Zavala, you and I both know that fate intwines souls for a reason. If you cant stop them, then you know I cant either. Not that I am willing to." Mara said and he nodded.

"Mara... She may very well kill him..." Zavala said and she offered a small smile. "Then so be it. Everything happens for a reason, maybe not for the reason we would like... but it always happens." She sighed, a small sadness in her eyes as she scanned over the three before her once more. "And what if he kills her?" Ikora asked, which caught Cayde off guard. "I will always protect my brother, but if she still manages to kill him... there is nothing that I can do. The Queen of Kells is the one I am supposed to relinquish my throne to, it would be hard to do that if she were dead. So if he kills her... it will be handled." She said and Zavala frowned.

"She's already dying." Cayde blurted and Mara nodded. "Oh... of this I am fully aware. As was Kira. That too shall be handled." Mara said and looked over them to see if they had anything else to add. "What is she like?" Mara asked suddenly which made Cayde-6 stare at her oddly. "She's... Kind... Sure she has some anger issues, but we are working on those. She is very determined to do everything in her power to make sure those around her are safe despite the toll it will take on her." He said and she nodded. This sounded so familiar that it was slapping her in the face.

'Dearest brother... prepare for hell.'

She mused only to turn to face them once more. "I will call upon you if I am in need of assistance." Mara said and Zavala nodded. Petra's image appeared beside her and they eyed the image of the woman. "This is Petra Venj. She will also be here to answer if I am not available. I will send her to get you in person if the need is dire enough." Mara said and Petra looked over at Cayde, who didn't break eye contact with her. "We know her." He mumbled softly and Petra looked down and away from them. "The reason she will be our emissary from my side is because she wishes to make amends for her judgement call." Mara explained and they continued to eye her.

"Kira will be the emissary for the tower. We look forward to further communication, your grace." Zavala said politely and Mara nodded as she shut the hologram off. Zavala and the others made their way out of Uldren's ship, where he awaited them expectantly. "What news do you have?" he asked and Zavala looked to Kira. "You are now the tower's emissary to the reef. Welcome to the tower, Kira." Zavala greeted before he stepped past Uldren. Uldren scoffed as he watched the man go. Ikora handed Kira coordinates to the location that Ashura and Loki would be.

"Go see your siblings." Was all she said as she walked away. Uldren smirked at the hunter vanguard as he walked past. The hunter stopped to look at him for a moment only to scoff in amusement before leaving as well. Ah, yes, he was going to enjoy messing with the hunter. The man was fun to anger. "Ready to go?" he asked and Kira nodded excitedly. They boarded his ship once more and he entered the coordinates. As they gained ground he looked over to see Kira bouncing in her excitement.

Kira was ecstatic. She was jumping up and down in his ship and he had to roll his eyes at her. "Calm it down woman. You and that jumping may spiral us off into space and we will never be seen or heard from again." He ground out and she looked at him with a purely shocked expression and he couldn't help the chuckle that had escaped him. She huffed and turned to look at Venus as it came into view. She was struggling to contain her excitement as they looked down and could see a woman strolling down below. He landed the ship a great distance away as to not draw attention.

They stepped off and he watched her for a moment in silence. She turned to him once more and hugged him tightly, so tight in fact he could no longer fill his lungs with air. That was ok though, he needed that before she left. He watched as she took off running across the way. He followed her from a distance and watched her with a sad tugging in his chest. He was going to miss her greatly, until she returned of course.

When the smaller woman saw her, she damn near took Kira out via hug, screaming for the warlock to come over. He watched as the dark haired man rushed over to them. He couldn't help but feel slightly at ease due to the fact she seemed to be safe with her siblings. He watched as the hunter removed her helm and her pure white hair fell from where it had been pinned to her head. A silver shimmer caught his eyes and he couldn't look away. She seemed to look up at him and the air caught in his throat. He couldn't move air in or out, and he wasn't sure what was happening.

He could hear his heart thudding in his chest rapidly, almost painfully at that. He was only able to rip his gaze from her piercing silver one when Kira turned back to him and waved. He felt a small smile cross his lips as he offered a simple two fingered wave. He watched as she turned back and had begun talking to them once more. He sighed and watched her pink hair as it vanished in the distance. He turned to make his way back to his ship, he had felt that she was safe with her siblings. He supposed he had no reason to stick around because she would come home sooner or later.

:-:-:-:

He sat in his room working on the leg once more, the ever growing pile of destroyed ones cluttering his workspace. Jolyon had come by to check on him a few times in the weeks after Kira's departure, as had Petra and his sister. He knew they were just checking in on him and was slightly grateful for their concern, however he just wanted to be alone. Well, he really didn't but there wasn't anyone like her around and he missed her. He was grateful when after almost an entire year they finally left him alone. His crow drone fluffed its wings in warning from atop its perch and he turned to look at who had come into his room.

"Niwyn." He greeted sourly and she didn't even control the disgusted look on her face. "Nina." She bit out and he rolled his eyes as he continued writing on his journal. He scribbled something out that had caused the prior leg to fry immediately and had expected her to leave but he still felt her presence lingering behind him. "What do you want?" he asked and she seemed surprised by his hostility. She shouldn't be at this point, she should be used to it honestly.

"I... I wanted to check on you..." she muttered softly and he turned to look at her with irritation flooding his eyes. "Get in line then." He grunted and she frowned. "I don't know what I did in my past life... I implore you... trust me on this." She muttered softly and he breathed deeply as he turned around to look at her once more, setting down the pen he had been scribbling with. She was twiddling a white braid in her grasp and he watched her do this for a moment before he kicked a chair over to her. "Sit. If you have anything useful that could help me I could consider not being an utter dick to you. If not that's just how I'm going to treat you and you'll have to deal with it because I need a companion and if that just so happens to have to be you, then whatever." He grumbled as he looked back to his work.

She moved the chair beside him and sat down silently as she looked over the limb in front of him. She touched it and the limb twitched and kicked over his case of writing utensils. He released a deep breath as he reached to pick them up. She helped him and he watched her as she nervously handed them to him. He gently grabbed them out of her hand and placed them back in their bin. He didn't want to scare the girl any more than he already did. He watched as she read his journal over his shoulder. "Right there..." she whispered and he glanced to what she was pointing at.

It was a drawing of the seals between the join of the leg and the base he was going to build for it. "Perhaps... if you thread them through in a different way they will stop kinking up and causing the short circuit." She offered softly and he looked from where she was tracing the picture to meet her gaze. "I see. Care to help me with that?" he asked and she nodded. "I've been working on this alone so I haven't been able to do this without an extra set of hands." He muttered and she nodded. He showed her what to hold and where and then he connected the parts and sat back to look it over.

"Now we need light to see if it will work." He said and she nodded and placed her hand on the limb's connection plate, sending void energy through it slowly. It began to glow a brilliant purple and held that for a moment which excited him. After about three minutes of watching the light glow brilliantly and it didn't explode, he told her to pump more light into it, enough to do a shoulder charge. She did and it seemed to be holding steady. He nodded and told her to focus on using the energy she used for the ward of dawn. That was when it glowed the brightest. After she held it for five minutes, he opened his mouth to tell her to stop and it exploded.

He kicked the wall and stood, running his fingers through his hair in irritation. She watched every moment of his tantrum in silence. She was nothing like Kira, she would have called him a big baby and told him to get over it and try again. He sighed and sat back down to draw the new setup at the connection plate and record his new findings. He caught movement out of the corner of his eye and saw that she was picking up the destroyed limb and was looking it over. "What have you found?" he asked and she turned it to him. "Right here... it looks like the tubes are just slightly too close together and when my light flowed through it at that capacity it eroded through and detonated this one right here." She offered and he watched her point to the parts.

"Good," he began and began drawing the damage on the leg in his journal. "Thank you." He finished and she looked at him in shock. "It takes an outside eye to fix things sometimes. So a thank you is required." He said bluntly and she nodded. He watched as she began twiddling that braid again. "Any ideas on how to fix that?" he asked and she furrowed her brows in thought. She looked at the material he had used from the tubing and he showed her where he had gotten it from. "You need a higher grade of this..." she said and he awaited her explanation.

"This is from the hard light. While it does collect the light and funnel it from us, it doesn't funnel light in the capacity of our main abilities. I know where you can find some though." She said and he eyed her curiously. "Normally the Exo come built with it, but the ones you are getting aren't. These aren't the Exo that are meant to be guardians. These are the ones who use weapons. I can show you in the Bratech facility on mars where to get it." She said and he stood.

"Let's go then." He said and she nodded as she jumped to her feet to follow after him. What was the term they said? Friends close, but enemies closer? Yeah, he figured he would keep this wolf of a woman close. That way he could keep an eye on her. Until he could trust her, if ever. He narrowed his eyes at her briefly, he wondered where she could have hidden the bow. The Wish Ender bow had been missing for almost five years now and no one had been killed with it, nor had its presence been felt. He knew that once it returned it would be a grave danger for all of them... the ender of wishes... the dragon slayer.

His nose twitched in annoyance as he thought about the any times he had been spotted trying to take off on little escapades with Jolyon. Sjur had seen right through the wall and had told the queen when they tried to make their escapes. Most bows he'd had the pleasure of being shot at with were compact bows, but this one... this long bow. It dealt more of a devastating blow than any other he had encountered. He looked over at Nina, who was rubbing a small area in the center of her chest, this wasn't beyond her normal behavior she was always fiddling with something, but he wanted to know if there were a scar there.

If there were he would have no more doubts that Sjur's last arrow pierced her.

She followed him into his ship and he sighed as she sat against the storage racks behind him. He took off and she said nothing the entire way there. Not a single movement or noise escaped her, but she just kept watching him. It was unsettling, the intensity of her stare. He turned to look at her and she had her eyes closed. Hair prickled at the back of his neck and goosebumps raised over his skin in trails, as if someone has run their fingers up his right arm and over his shoulder and neck. There was no one there though, which unsettled him even more.

He wondered briefly what was going on with the woman behind him. Something clearly wasn't right, before the murders she had been a loyal corsair to the queen. He wondered what could have changed. A familiar ship loomed overhead and excitement filled him. He landed and concealed his ship. He made his way inside the building, only to sneak up on them. He draped an arm over her shoulder and she looked up at him. "Uldren!" she chirped happily as she turned and hugged him tightly. He offered a small smile and hugged her back. "Missed me so much you started stalking me huh?" she mused and he rolled his eyes.

"Oh no I didn't miss you that much." He said and she scrunched her face up at him, the amused light in his eyes showed he wasn't serious, although he knew that she already knew that. "Sure thing boss man." She mused and he turned to see Nina walking in. Kira looked between the two of them oddly. "You made nice with her I see." "Not quite, I am here to help him find some things for your sister's limb." Nina said and he turned to look at her silently. He watched Kira to see any change in her features, but there were none. "What are you looking for, cause I can help you find it." She offered and crossed his arms over his chest. He felt like something wasn't right.

"Why are you here, and where are your siblings?" he asked and she smiled at him, but he saw the lie in her eyes before she even spoke. "I'm continuing to look into my past." That was definitely not the truth, but he wasn't going to pry. Not physically or verbally anyways. "We are looking for the tubing they use for the Guardian Exo. The tubing we have been using for the leg could hold its own for about ten minutes of holding Ward of Dawn, but then exploded. I chose the less destructive of them first and it still blew. Wouldn't want that to happen to your sister with you nearby. I'd miss you." He mused and she punched him in the shoulder lightly.

"And I would miss her you ass." She grumbled as she led him through the halls and into what looked to be a huge storage room. "I miss you..." he said and she smiled at him. "Couldn't tell." She mused as she entered her code and one of the walls opened up to showcase an array of tubing of varying grades of resistance. "Take as much as you need." She said and he nodded. He looked through them and took six different grades of the highest resistances he could find. He didn't want it to resist the light too much and not be able to transfer it through, but he also didn't want it to corrode through either. He looked to Nina, who held out her hands to take some of the coiled tubing from him.

He handed her a few rolls and she offered a small smile. She seemed grateful that he was even allowing her to help him. She ran them out to his ship and returned for more. He handed her those and she took them as well. "Nina I will be out in a moment, wait there for me, would you?" he asked and she nodded before she turned and left. "She worships you." Kira snickered softly and he shook his head. "No." he said and she eyed him wearily. "Then what is it?" she asked and he released a small sigh. "She knows I know what she did. She thinks I'm going to expose her, and I plan on it eventually but I need more proof. The proof I need to do so would be a scar." He sighed and she wiggled her eyebrows at him.

"You could sleep with her, then you would see any and all scars she has." She offered and he rolled his eyes. "I'm not doing that. I would feel vile after." He grunted and she nudged him with her shoulder gently. "You know she already has her eyes set on someone." Kira said and he glanced her out of the corner of his eyes. Her eyes showed no deception whatsoever. "Who?" he asked and she smirked at him. "All up in everyone else's love lives but wont even try and make his own." She mused and he rolled his eyes. "Zavala. When she saw him on one of her visits to Eris at the tower it was like she had never seen the man her entire life." She sighed and he furrowed his brows.

"Zavala? That would make sense..." he sighed and she looked up at him in confusion. "In the Battle of Twilight Gap she had taken off without a word. The day she killed that guardian, she had been in a panicked state before that even happened." He explained and she nodded. "Even before she was a guardian she was always chasing the man. She would make her presence known to him and would help him. She was the one who led him to the Last City before there even was one." He said and she watched him in awe. "Damn. That's crazy." She muttered and he rolled his eyes once more.

"Well I am gonna go snoop around and find out whatever I can." She sighed and urged him to go on. "Fine fine. Promise you will come see the queen? She misses you and so does Petra." He said and she offered a smile. "Yeah tell the Nudist Queen I called her than and I promise I will be back. I know it has been too long but I've been busy." She said and he nodded. "Petra will enjoy that one." He chuckled as he made his way towards the front of the building. However, he didn't leave. He concealed his light and cloaked himself in the shadows. He followed her back into the building, down the hallways and right to a large machine hidden below the facility.

He watched as she walked over to the computer and began typing away. She looked around once before entering her password and the word 'proceed' flashed on the screen in large letters. She continued typing and a large cylindrical object lowered from the ceiling and opened up. Inside was a chair with a helmet. He furrowed his brow as he looked over the contraption once more. This was different than the machines that Spider had described as seeing on Europa. So, he ruled out that she were transferring herself into in Exo body. She sat down in the chair and pulled the helmet down over her head.

He watched as she reached over and hit a few keys on the keyboard and the machine began to start up. He watched as she slipped her eyes shut and allowed the computer to do everything it was supposed to. He was confused when 'Download Complete' flashed across the screens of the computers. He knew that Clovis Bray had been working on being able to upload the memories of a person, so maybe she was downloading her memories from her past life? If so then it wouldn't have been such a lie when she said she was looking into her past.

He noticed that she was starting to pull the helmet off and he backed away to leave, but saw her writing on a pad of paper, an envelope on the desk beneath it. He furrowed his brows as she folded the paper and slipped it into an envelope. On the outside of the envelope read the name 'Cayde-6'. This was confusing for him, maybe she had been looking into Cayde-6 and not herself? He decided that it was time to leave before he was caught he was not supposed to be anywhere near this place and it was obvious by the multiple levels of security she had gone through.

He snuck out, but as he rounded a corner he made full contact with someone. He looked over the woman, who seemed miffed he was there. He hadn't touched her, but she had definitely caught him sneaking out. "What are you doing here?" she asked, her tone was not the friendliest. He could play that game as well. "I was just checking on a friend." He said and she eyed him silently. She didn't seem to believe him. "Her name?" she asked and he quirked a brow at her.

"Kira Reyes." He said and she nodded, he could see the intelligence behind her mechanical eyes. "I see. How do you know her?" she asked and he offered a hand to her. "I am Uldren Sov." He said and she blinked slowly at him. "I know who you are, Prince." She said kindly, this was a change from her previous tone. "Sephora." She said and the realization hit him immediately. Especially on how she knew who had logged into the facility and machines. "I was the one who built Kira her leg." He said and she nodded. "So, is that what you were doing with all that tubing she allowed you to take?" she asked and that confirmed every bit of it. He knew exactly who she was.

Elsie Bray.

"Yes, I am making a leg for her sister. Seems keeping limbs is not on the agenda for them." He mused and she released a small huff of air that he took for amusement. "As is Usual for those two." She said and he looked at her oddly. She looked off to the distance and sighed. "It was a pleasure, Until we meet again." She said and he nodded. She turned to walk away, but stopped and looked at him over her shoulder. "Check the connections of each tube and wiring separately. Ultimately it will be aggravating and extensive, but therein you will find out what you're doing wrong on the build. Midgrade conduction tubing is good for void, Max grade is good for Solar, and secondary high is good for Arc. She's a strange one, so only one type of tubing will never work. Use that to your advantage." She said as she vanished from sight.

He touched the screen on his arm brace and saved the recording of their entire encounter. He now had proof that Elsie Bray was still alive, and that worked to his advantage. He would love to learn from her about anything and everything he could. So he would ensure that they met again. He made his way to his ship and slipped inside, watching as Nina stared at him like a deer in headlights. That was going to get old fast. "We got everything we needed, so we can go now." He said and she nodded and smiled at him. He watched her after he had set their flight pattern. He turned to face her fully and she seemed curious.

"Nina... Are you seeing Zavala?" he asked and a deep red blush coated her cheeks and she sputtered indignantly. He sighed as she tried to compose herself. "N-no..." she managed and he looked at her oddly. "I um... I like him... But... I'm not sure he even knows I exist..." she whispered and he listened silently. "How did you meet him?" he asked and she fiddled with her fingers. "Back when we were in the uprising of the reef wars... I was out on assignment when this man... Zavala, found me. He saved me from the hive..." she said and he saw no signs of deception. Perhaps there was a chance she really didn't remember.

Within the next few days, things started feeling different. Something didn't feel right and he couldn't explain it. He had delved into the reading of the books of Osiris to pass the time. He had read over the passages covering the death of a twin. He couldn't get the image out of his head and he gripped the pages tightly. He continued reading about her affiliations with the fallen, Osiris himself, and with others who had special talents. He was curious about something called a sundial and how her interactions with it would prove unsuccessful in changing the paths of time, but she never stopped trying.

He continued reading, but something felt wrong. Something felt like it had been torn from his grasp and his heart began to race. He looked around the room and couldn't see anything that could cause his panic, but he knew something wasn't right. He stood and made his way to his sister, where she had already been trying to figure out what had happened. "You felt it too?" he asked and she nodded, continuing to do whatever it was that she was doing. She was channeling her power and he didn't know what she was doing. Her eyes glowed white, and she began to hover in place for a moment. When she dropped she steadied herself and made eye contact with him.

"Something has changed with Kira's light." She said and he made his way to the entrance of the room. He was going to go find out what had happened, only for a second shockwave of whatever it was hit him and he propped himself against the wall. "Uldren stay, I am going to contact the tower and figure out what is going on." She said and he nodded, trying to recover his breath. The image of Zavala appeared before them and he stood to his full height once more.

"What happened Zavala?" she asked and he frowned. "We sent six guardians to explore the Vault of Glass. Only four have come back..." he said and Uldren fisted his hands by his side, he didn't open his mouth because he knew it would upset his sister if he did. "Which ones did you send?" she asked and Zavala looked away from her for a moment only to sigh. "Send me an emissary I wish to discuss why their attempt failed. If Kira is not available... send me the sister." She said and Zavala nodded. "How did they get out?" she asked and he pursed his lips. "I'm not entirely sure... they were dropped back to us from a vex construct. We have no idea how they used it or why it returned them to us, but I don't know who made it as of yet. I was just informed of their return before you called." He said and she nodded.

"So, the shockwave of energy... you felt that as well?" Uldren asked and he nodded. "That was what brought them back." He said and Uldren released a small breath before he turned away from them. "Sister if you need me, I will be in my workshop. Call on me when it is time for her to come home." He said and she nodded, her comforting presence washing over him once more. She knew that this was hard for him, the not knowing if Kira were alive or not... he could only hope that the prophecies of Osiris were actually utter bullshit and never came true.

Uldren awaited Jolyon's return, overhearing the conversation shared between the Queen, Jolyon, and those aboard Kira's ship. He was irate that it had not been Kira on her ship, but someone else. The ships pulled up and he stood with his arms crossed over his chest. The moment the person stepped off the ship though, their eyes locked and he could have sworn it was Kira. They were the same height and she donned Kira's armor. His heart thumped loudly in his chest as her silver eyes locked on his through her helmet. A striking feat of its own. The strange tugging that had always happened before was not there, but much rather a much more... foreign feeling. This woman was strange, everything about her... from her appearance that resembled Kira but was also so very different.

She was not her sister that was for sure. He broke eye contact with her eyes that were filled with admiration, he mused over this for a moment. She admired him, he scoffed inwardly, that was something Kira never showed him. His amusement turned into disdain when he saw the awoken man beside her. He knew this one, or more so his parents. His mother had left the awoken because she had met a man in the city. Other awoken soon followed suit, causing their numbers to dwindle substantially. His eyes then landed on the dark haired man he knew was Loki. He offered a small bow to the woman before him in greeting, which she politely returned.

"That one must be your older brother." He mused out loud and she nodded. "Yes, your grace." She responded and he looked her over once more. This was nothing like the force of nature that Kira had always described to him. 'She bowed to no one and she always stood her ground even if she were wrong.' Her voice echoed in his mind and he was amused by this. Perhaps things had changed. "You can call me Uldren." He emphasized this to her, not the two behind her. He folded his hands behind his back and they followed him to the Queens throne room.

He felt her gaze burning a hole in him, he knew she was watching him every step of the way. From the way he moved and how silently he did so, this amused him to no end. Kira must have told her stories about him if she were this interested in staring at him. He looked behind him and noticed she wasn't even hiding the fact she was staring, it was blatantly obvious that she wasn't paying attention either. He saw her eyes dip down and it took everything he had to keep a straight face. He shook his head and stepped to the side as they approached his sister, who was watching him with amusement in her eyes.

"You," his sister called out, motioning for the woman who had been so intently watching him. "Approach us." She commanded and he felt the amusement wash over him, but she hid it very well. He had been waiting for this for almost a month, waiting on the injured to recuperate. The lack of Kira's presence told him everything he needed to know, which saddened him greatly, but he had been separated from her for over a year now and that felt like it had softened the blow just a bit. He had been angry at first when he began hearing things about who returned and who didn't.

He did, however, feel sorrow for Nora, who had lost her only son in that attempt. He watched as the woman before them removed her helmet. His eyes roamed over her face and he quirked a brow as she moved forward to kneel before them. "You look just like her." His sister commented softly, but he had to disagree. The physical resemblance was definitely uncanny, but at the same time Kira had held more rugged tomboyish features, while this one... Hers were more feminine and distinct. Her stance was also more elegant than the bumbling and wide gait that Kira had held he chuckled inwardly at that one.

His sister motioned for her to stand and he noticed that she was off before the guards had even begun their lunge. He motioned for them to stop, as he was already ahead of them. He tucked his shoulder in and had caught the stumbling woman before she hit the ground. He held her in one arm while he swiped the blade from his thigh, only to very swiftly jerk up and place it against the neck of the warlock who had lunged for him. He didn't even have to look at the man to see the swirling void light in his open palm. "I recommend you put that out." He taunted and the warlock closed his palm.

This amused him to no end, the warlock had immediately known he was outmatched in sheer speed alone. He flipped the blade around and tapped her left leg in amusement. "Seems you all have forgotten what it sounds like when a clutz has a metal leg." He mused out loud and the guards stood down. 'You look cute brother.' Mara's amused tone echoed through his mind and he helped her to her feet, only to shoot his sister a dirty look while she smiled at them. Ashura spouted an apology but he ignored it, there was no reason for her to do so, the guards were just antsy.

Mara was telling them about how she knew how they could succeed in a second attempt at entering the vault and he noticed that the awoken man looked like he wanted to speak, but once he did, he saw that fire Kira always talked about when it came to her sister. The absolute wrath that emanated from her was incredible. The ignorance coming from the Awoken was the least bit amusing though. He strolled past Ashura gently and bit something out at the awoken, honestly, he couldn't remember what he had even said because the man took a swing at him.

He grabbed that arm and flipped him, sending him to the ground knees first. He yanked the arm backwards towards him and pressed a foot into his back to keep him on the ground crouched. He looked to Mara and she honestly seemed irate with them, which was understandable. The idiot beneath him just kept trying to spout his idiocy. The queen ordered them barred from the reef and he nodded, releasing the fool beneath him. He watched as she disappeared through a doorway behind her throne and he sighed as he turned around to usher the three of them out.

"Prince Uldren-" "Silence, I will speak to you momentarily." He said as he shoved the half awoken out of his way and towards the door. He ordered the guards to escort him out of the room, but he still managed to let out a comment about him being a punk bitch. The man didn't know when to shut up, but he was going to attempt to show him now was the time. Ashura snapped at the awoken asking him if he were stupid, which amused him to no end, because it was obvious he was. He placed a hand on her shoulder, which caused her to look up at him in confusion. Confusion was short lived when Uldren's fist connected with his gut and he sputtered for air.

He shook his fist out and looked down at the toppled hunter as he struggled for air. He hoped that would shut him up for a moment so his head would stop hurting at least. It didn't work and he felt his lip twitch in agitation as the man continued to talk trash at him. He closed his eyes and briefly prayed that whatever god was out there would smite him already so he didn't have to deal with this ignorant fool any longer.

He didn't even get to think about landing another hit before her brother grabbed the fool and slapped a hand over his mouth and dragged him away. He looked down at the small woman before him and felt relief for a moment. Her shimmering silver eyes pleading at him not to take any further action, something deep within him wanted to reassure her that he was finished with the fool. He supposed that was because he felt like Kira was near when she was around. The slightest bit of sadness watched over him but he killed it swiftly. This woman was not Kira, but she was the closest thing he had to her so he decided it would be better to not chase her off.

He turned and made his way to his sister, but decided against going to her. He wanted to talk to Ashura alone. Cloaked in the darkness once more he waited for her companions to get out of sight. He reached out and placed a gentle hand over her mouth to keep her from yelling and he pulled her back into the room, closing the small door behind him. She struggled against his grasp, but before he could even get a word out her teeth sank into his hand that held her by her cloak and he released her. He held his hands up to try and call a truce but she shoulder charged him right through the door.

The feeling as her energy rushed through his form was... indescribable. He felt alive and he didn't understand it, as if her energy had awakened a deeper purpose within him. He grunted as he hit his back on the door, only for the door to hit the ground as well. He couldn't find the air to fill his lungs, but that just added to the adrenaline of the encounter. Before he could even register what was happening, she was on top of him, her legs pinning his to the ground. He didn't dare move, not with the sharp blade against his bare neck. He felt his throat tighten slightly as her fingertips brushed over the nape of his neck, this movement caused by her using the other hand to rip her hood from her head once more.

The moment their eyes met once more, it felt like a shock went through him. This excitement he felt, he had never experienced it before and it was addicting already. She leaned backwards to get away from him, but he couldn't help the amusement that lingered in his form. The panic and fear in her eyes were absolutely amazing to him. Such a fierce woman who had taken him down so swiftly, only for her to panic so easily. He enjoyed that look. She offered her hands to him and the shame that crossed her features amused him. He took her hands and the moment he gripped her hands she seemed to freeze for a moment.

He could feel the quickening pulse where his fingers lingered against her wrist and he couldn't help but be grateful that she couldn't feel his heartbeat, which matched her own rapid one. "Please forgive me..." she whispered softly, her head hanging in shame and he thumped her chin up with a knuckle gently before he shook his head at her. "No, I was the one who startled you." He said and a deep red blush covered her cheeks as he dusted off her shoulder. He quirked a brow and briefly wondered how much more red her face could go. Probably a deeper shade if he pissed her off, that he would like to see but not right now.

"Um... may I ask why you grabbed me?" her voice was soft, unbefitting of her honestly. "You just did but I don't feel as if I have to dignify that with a response." He said and she narrowed her eyes at him. Her anger excited him, perhaps this was because he wanted to fight her more. He wasn't sure, he just knew that there was something he wanted from her, he just didn't know what it was. Perhaps it was also the fact that he felt like he knew her, but he knew the one he knew was Kira. He watched her for any sign of being truly angry with him, but those eyes didn't show any.

"I just wanted to ask something is all." He said and those eyes softened, they were no longer sharp like a blade, but much rather reminded him of liquid mercury. Deep shining seas of silver, he liked them honestly. He liked all things metallic. That was how he reasoned with himself over that. Those... beautifully dangerous eyes were going to be such a bother. He broke eye contact to get that out of his mind. He turned to leave, but she called out to him and he turned to look at her once more but only partially. "What did you want to ask me?" she was so curious, those silver eyes boring right into his soul and he sighed.

"Where is Kira?" her eyes felt like they stabbed him in the chest. The amount of pain in them killed him in side and confirmed everything he had feared. Anger boiled up inside of him and he knew it showed on his face when he turned to face her fully. "She's dead, isn't she?" he asked his voice cold and cutting, and she frowned deeply, only to nod. "I see, that damnable woman..." he bit out and he took a breath to calm himself. "This was all your fault." He bit out, but before he could stop himself he realized he had said it out loud. He hadn't meant to do that as he was chastising himself.

Her eyes narrowed at him dangerously and she grabbed his arm roughly. He glared at her for a moment, only to realize she thought he had been talking about her. She thought he was saying it was her fault... "You think I don't know that?" she bit out and he felt the sadness wash over him, it wasn't his own sadness it was hers. He could see the tears pooling up in her eyes and his chest hurt. "I know it's my own damn fault." She managed, her tone wavering with every word. Her pain hurt him, he wasn't the only one mourning her loss. He had known they would be mourning her too, but he hadn't thought to actually be seeing the pain first hand.

Something deep within him wanted to reach out and comfort her the way he had comforted his sister when they were younger. He wanted to will her tears away like he had always done for Mara, but he stopped himself. He didn't know this woman and he had learned his lesson from the last time he had touched her. He reached into his pocket and pulled a small coin out and looked it over. The wolf on one side and the flowers surrounding it embodied Kira and her title he felt. He offered it to her and she took it while looking over it gently.

"I had a feeling she wasn't going to come back, so I was going to give her that. Bury it with her." He said softly and Ashura looked at him with shock written all over her face, but then her shock turned to sadness. He was confused as to why the sudden change. "We couldn't get her body to bring her home." She whispered and he frowned deeply. That made sense, he supposed. "I see." He sighed and clenched his fists softly by his side. He looked her over once more and he decided what he was going to do. He was still going to watch after her, just as Kira would have wanted him to.

"Either way... I'll see you around. You seem to be a fairly tolerable guardian. You are definitely not your sister, but tolerable none the less." He sighed and she scoffed at him. "You're a dick." She hissed and he only smirked. Yeah, he liked her. The fire she held would give him a run for his money. Perhaps they too could be friends, Kira would have loved that. He knew she could see the amusement in his eyes and he liked how it confused her.

"But of course." He said and opened his mouth to say something else, but another voice cut in and both of them stared disdainfully at the source. "Damn, I told you Loki. He is trying to screw her too." "Lion." She hissed and tried to maneuver around him, but he held out a hand to stop her. "Perhaps the mixed breed needs to repeat his lesson." He offered, but Ashura shoved his hand off of her and she made her way around him. She was definitely spunky. "Ashura." He called and she looked at him in confusion.

He couldn't help the amusement that filled him when she actually turned back towards him. Perhaps she would consider being his friend as well. "Be careful." He knew she had only heard the first half of that statement due to a loud voice yelling, "Come on Ashura, suck his face already so we can go home. I'm tired of this dump already." He sighed and shook his head as she turned to hit the man but her brother had already forced him into the ship. He looked up to see her watching him curiously from the window of the ship. He liked this one too, the brother had yet to amuse him but she sure had.

His sister's amusement filled his mind and he looked over to where she and Petra had been watching him intently. So much for trying to talk to her alone. He supposed they had come out when they heard the idiot yelling once more. Petra stalked over to him with deep seated amusement in her form. She reached up and dusted off his shoulders with a smug look on her face. "So... You made a new friend I see." She mused and he rolled his eyes. "You felt... Excited, brother." His sister mused and he glared at her. The way she said it made it feel sexual and disgusting. It was nothing like that.

"It isn't like that. She interests me." He said and Petra snorted as she crossed her arms over her chest. "Could have sworn you had a lil stiffy when she had you pinned down." Petra joked and he groaned. Great they had seen him get his ass handed to him and were now making it out to be something it wasn't. And yet again he found himself praying that whatever god were out there to smite him.

He was disappointed when the smiting never came too.
