Back to the Beginning

I do not own Destiny 1 or 2. Nor do I own Uldren Sov. However, I do hope you will enjoy. Also this story is yet another branch of the Those of the light series. The Fate of Fools and Those of the Light run alongside this one and We Were Humans once. Honestly this whole collection of stories seems to be an ever-growing cluster of P.O.V from all parts involved. A list of some of the stories to come will be at the bottom of this chapter, so dig in, take a guess at who they'll be about, and have fun!

Uldren watched the woman closely, this was the woman he loved... the one he was going to make a queen... He watched her as she crouched in front of him. He knew she was angry.

He knew from the look in her eyes, that he had hurt her dearly. Well... that and the gun she was using to lift his chin to make him look at her...

He knew what he had done was wrong, but he hoped she would forgive him... One day she would forgive him.

Hopefully...

But for now... we have to start at the beginning...

To find out what went wrong, you always have to go back to the start.

:-:-:-:

His footsteps echoed around the empty hallway, which unnerved him. Something was different about today , he wasn't exactly sure what it was... His eyes scanned the Corsair before him, she glanced back at him and he huffed slightly. His eyes shot to the sound of the voice, his own twin, who had been scolding him from within his own mind the entire time he stalked towards her throne room. A smirk crossed his lips.

'Not a word brother. If you say anything to her, I will ensure you stand outside my court.' her voice hissed within his mind and he rolled his eyes. He did not like the titan before him in restraints. Her bothersome little ghost hovered around her in a frenzy. He released a breath as he strolled forwards. The titan eyed him wearily as she was forced to her knees before the queen and her techuens.

"Niwyn Narise. How do you plead in the case of treason?" The queen called out and the woman looked up at her with enraged eyes. "Not Guilty. I have no recollection of this Niwyn. My name is Nina!" The queen watched her with a frown only to lock eyes with her brother. "You did not tell me the traitor had become one of the Risen." Mara said and the titan looked up at her in confusion. "A Risen?" She asked and Uldren scoffed.

"A traitor is a traitor, is it not?"

"Not if she is Risen. She was killed and reborn in their... Light..." Mara sighed in disgust. "There is no use in persecuting someone who has no memory of the wrong they've done." Mara said and Uldren sneered as he cut the titan loose. He jerked her to her feet and began ushering her towards the door. She resisted and he became irate with her. Before he could do anything to her, Mara raised a hand to him. "Hold on brother, she wishes to speak with me." Mara said and he stepped back, albeit hesitantly.

The woman stepped up to the queen slowly only to lock her hands together. "Your highness... If it is not too much to ask... could I request to know the wrong I have done in my past life?" She asked softly. Uldren was actually caught off guard by this. "You murdered eight of the Queens Techuens, her most trusted advisors and guards." Uldren bit out and the woman turned to him in shock. "Murder?" she asked, only to turn to the Queen and see the burning rage in her eyes. Uldren knew exactly why that rage was there, one of the Techuens that Nicole had murdered was the Queens lover.

She dropped to one knee before the Queen and began apologizing, Pleading with the woman before her. Uldren was impressed that the woman had the audacity to plead before the woman whose lover she had murdered. "You said your name was Nina?" The queen asked and the woman snapped up to look at her. "Yes, your majesty." she said and Mara motioned for the woman to approach her. She did as she was instructed and the queen grabbed the woman's face lightly, turning it from one side to the other. Looking for any sign of deceit it seemed.

"You belong to me now. Go with my friend. She will show you around."

Uldren sneered softly as he watched the woman follow Petra away. He turned on his heel and made his way out of the room. "Brother. Do me a favor. Go scouting for me, seems more guardians are turning up and I would rather not have them all show up at my door." She said sternly and he nodded. "Of course, dear sister." He didn't understand her reasoning, much less her leniency towards that murderer, but that was none of his concern he supposed.

:-:-:

Earth, his crows sent him to Earth this time. He looked around and sighed. Broken down buildings littered the area. He hated it here more than anything. The chances of running into a guardian here were astronomical. He slipped into a broken down building where he heard movement. He crept around trying to make sure whatever it was didn't hear him. He peered down the hallway and saw it was a human woman. She had been limping around using some sort of rebar to steady herself. He briefly contemplated leaving her to her own devices, but the moment he noticed her leg from the knee down was gone, he decided against it. He stepped out and watched her struggle for a moment.

When she saw him, she slumped against the wall and sighed. "Go ahead... end me." She had said this so helplessly that he couldn't help but feel for her. "What's your name?" he asked and she looked up at him with sad green eyes. "Kira... Kira Reyes." She said and he gave her a swift once over. He was curious about this one. "Why do you think I want to kill you?" he asked as he crouched in front of her and began prodding the stump of her amputated leg. He examined the clean amputation and nodded when he saw there was no visible scarring. He could do something with this.

"Everything else has tried and failed, so I figured you would want to kill me too." She groaned as he hefted her onto her lone foot. "Well, I will probably be the only one who won't want to kill you at the moment, as long as you give me no reason to." He grunted as he hefted her onto his shoulder. "I'm showing you a kindness, so you have to help me." he said and she shrugged. It seemed she didn't care about what happened to her either way. He carried her back to his ship and she looked around with a curious gaze. "So like... you aren't some kinda creep that takes little girls and hides them away for pleasure purposes are you? Cause I'm really not into that kinda thing." She asked and he looked at her like she had lost her ever loving mind. 'Great... this one is retarded.' He thought with a roll of the eyes.

"Woman... what insolent fool do you take me for?" he snapped and she shrugged. "Hey man... I'm like... barely alive and you just came out of nowhere and picked me up like... yup here's another one. I'm keeping it." She said and he pinched the bridge of his nose to ebb the oncoming headache. "If you must know, my name is Uldren. I am the Prince of the Reef." he bit out sourly and her eyebrows shot up into her bangs. "Holy shit man you gotta understand, I didn't know." She said and he stared back at her disdainfully. "Clearly." he grumbled and she muttered under her breath something about a jerk.

He withheld a chuckle at this. Wasn't the first time he had heard this one. He glanced back down to her and shook his head. "What were you doing out here?" he asked and she shrugged. "Hobblin." His eyes slipped shut and he took a deep breath. He looked over at her and there was a wicked smirked plastered across her lips. "For a cripple you sure talk a lot." He said and she let out a laugh, one that made him want to smile. "I don't see the correlation but ok." She said and he chuckled softly. "Eyyy made you laugh now you gotta keep me." She called out and he shook his head. "I never made any such promises." He said as he smirked over his shoulder at her.

"Oh come on. I'm funny and you look like you need a little laughter in your life." She said and he rolled his eyes once more. He quirked a brow and turned to face her. "Are you calling me a humorless prude?" He asked and she threw her hands up in the air in surrender. "Hey, I didn't say it you did. If the shoe fits wear it boo." She said and he repressed a small amused smile. He liked this one. He figured since his sister kept the one he loathed with everything he had, he could keep this guardian. She didn't seem to be too bad. He pulled up to the Vestian outpost and he helped her to her feet.

"Oh... Wow..." She whispered as he helped her off the ship. He glanced down at her with a confused look. She seemed to be taking in her surroundings with an artists eye. "You like it here?" He asked and she nodded as he lifted her up bridal style. Her brow shot up and she sent a sultry look his way. "You know, maybe it wouldn't be too bad being hidden away in your kinky sex dungeon." She said and he breathed deeply, his eyes slipping shut in irritation. "Keep on like that and I will drop you right here." He grumbled and she smirked. "Ok, boss man. I gotcha." She said and he shook his head as she offered him a small salute. He had to admit, he had never met anyone like her. This risen was neat in a sense.

He made his way to the housing area of the Vestian outpost and when she realized where he was going, she whipped her head to look at him. "What?" he bit out and her face contorted in fear. "I didn't mean it when I said you could take me to the sex dungeon!" she whispered forcefully and he rolled his eyes. "I mean... I mean it but I also don't at the same time... does that make sense?" she asked and he couldn't hold back the chuckle at this. "I'm taking you to fit you for a prosthetic leg you fool." He said fully intending the humor. "...Oh..." She muttered, a deep red blush littering her cheeks. She was quiet the rest of the way to his room/ workshop after that.

He leaned her against the wall and opened the door to his room. He offered her a hand and helped her in to set her on his bed. He opened a chest and began pulling Exo legs out from it. "So why do you have so many Exo parts here?" She asked and he glanced at her from the corner of his eyes. "I like to take things apart and build other things." He said and gestured up to the top of a cabinet where a bird sat perched. With an offhanded movement the bird swooped down to her and landed on the leg she still had all of. He watched as she reached out to the crow and touched its feathers. "It's a machine?" She asked and he nodded as he set all the parts on his desk. Another hand motion and lights came on all over the room.

He sat at his desk and began dismantling an Exo leg from the knee down. "This one will take a while to build, but I do have normal prosthetics to help you get around in the mean time." He said and motioned for the crow, which hopped off her leg and made its way out of the room only to come back a few minutes later with an Exo. In the Exo's hands it held a large box filled with prosthetic limbs. "We awoken have to make do with what we can until I can figure out how to build limbs for the injured." He said before she even had the time to question it. He saw her nod from the corner of his eyes but then returned his gaze back to the task at hand.

"The Queen has ordered me to go scouting about the system. Would you enjoy accompanying me?" he asked and he could tell that had made her night. She was bouncing up and down on the bed excitedly. "Don't break my bed." He bit out, a hint of amusement in his voice. She had caught onto it and offered him a smirk. This woman was dirty in all senses of the word. "You don't know me, don't flirt with me unless you think you can handle me and my... 'Sex dungeon'." He chuckled and a deep blush covered her cheeks. He chuckled softly and shook his head as he swiveled in his chair to face her.

She seemed deep in thought now. He wondered what could possibly have killed her mood so quickly. "Prince Uldren..." She began and he watched her for any signs of what she was going to say but she revealed nothing. "Why are you helping me?" She asked and he furrowed his brow for a moment, pondering the question. "Honestly..." He began and she looked up at him curiously. "I'm not sure. I suppose maybe I saw something in you back there. Maybe I just needed a companion." He sighed and she tilted her head to watch him as he crossed his arms over his chest once more.

"Now... I'm not looking for a significant other... I think maybe I was looking for..." He couldn't find the word that felt right. No matter how deep he reached in his mind, he couldn't find it. "A friend?" She asked and he tossed the word around for a while. After looking her over once more he nodded. "Yeah... except I think I needed someone who wasn't from here. Someone who didn't want to be my friend by obligation." He said and she offered a small smile. "I see. I understand that, you know." She said and he leaned back in his chair fully. "Do you now?"

"Yeah. See... I have bits and pieces of my memory of my past life, so I know what it was like to have people wanting to be near you for all the wrong reasons." She sighed and he nodded. "Well since you remember bits and pieces, would you like to go find out some more?" he asked and she beamed at him. "Good. I was getting tired of recon missions all the time. There is so much more interesting things I could do." He sighed, only for his mind to wander back to the black garden and his trip there with Jollyon. Yeah... that was why he was on restricted exploration to begin with so stuff like that? He would avoid for a while.

"What's this?" His sister's voice rang out and he saw the girl, Kira, stiffen visibly. "I promise I'm not sleeping with him!" she blurted and he pinched the bridge of his nose as his sister's laughter rang out from behind him. He turned to see her eyes filled with mirth and he couldn't help the relief that flooded his being. She didn't seem to be angry with him still. "Brother, are you not going to introduce me to your friend here?" she asked and he rolled his eyes. "Kira, this is my sister, the Queen." He said shortly and Kira offered a bow from the bed. "Your highness." Kira greeted and the Queen sat beside her on his bed. "You can call me Mara." His sister offered and he gave her a curious glance.

'This one seems competent.'

He smirked at her from his seat as he shook his head. 'If that's what you want to call it' he replied in his mind and this was her turn to roll her eyes. "Am I missing something?" Kira asked and the queen smiled at her elegantly. "No, not at all." She said amusement littering her voice. "Alright, well I will leave the two of you be." She said once she helped Kira get a prosthetic from the box that fit and didn't cause her discomfort when she stood.

:-:_:-:

He glanced over at her as she bounced on his bed once more. She had been out and about learning about her past and was so excited to tell him all bout it. She was an Exo mechanic in her past life, that was what they had found out together. She worked at Clovis Bray and she continuously told him this, he didn't mind that though. He enjoyed hearing about everything she had to say. He briefly pondered if this was what it was supposed to be like having friends. The kind who truly were loyal to you and not your sibling.

"Did I tell you?" she asked and he looked over at her from where he was working on her cybernetic limb once more. "Tell me what?" he asked and she dug around in her little bag of wonders, she liked to call it. If she could fit it in there it was going in there and she was going to carry it with her everywhere. He thoroughly enjoyed everything she pulled out of the bag, it seemed every little thing she had in there had a story to tell.

She pulled a picture from the bag and worked diligently to rub the dust and dirt from the frame. He smiled inwardly at this. She was so delicate with anything she collected. "I have siblings... On the back it says Marie and Stephan..." She chirped and he looked over at the picture and his eyes were instantly captured by the silver eyed woman. Something tugged on his soul and he briefly wondered what it was. Her white hair fell softly around her face and he had to admit she had gentle, yet attractive features. "Is she a twin?" he asked and she nodded. "Yeah... turns out we were twins, although she went on to be a general surgeon while I got a doctorate in Exo science... Although I certainly wish I could remember it." She sighed wistfully and he nodded. That would definitely help them out with their current robotic leg predicament.

"What are your siblings like?" He asked and she grinned over at him. "Stephan is... well... your typical older brother. Protective and caring, but also stubborn and annoying." She said with a small smile. "There isn't much I remember of him, but I am sure if I were to see him everything would probably come rushing back." She said as she jabbed her stump into his side from the table she sat on. There was nothing bashful about this woman and sometimes that got on his last nerve.

"So how much longer until you have finished the adjustments?" She asked and he rolled his eyes but leaned back away from the table.
He then pointed at the leg that lay open on the table, cables and metal plating scattered about. A look in his eyes that quite possibly screamed 'You aren't actually asking that are you?' She just laughed at him and shook her head. He just watched her as she messed with her stump. She seemed so enthused with her stump that he had to ask her.

"Who amputated your leg?" he asked and she looked up at him as she ran her fingers over the smooth stump, very minimal scarring was visible and a slow smile crossed her lips.
"My own sister." She said and that caught his attention fully. "Why?" He asked and she sighed as she patted her hands against her legs. "From what I remember, we were under attack." She rubbed the stump once more at this. "The building collapsed and I was trapped. My sister searched the entire building for me. She was ordered to evacuate, but she refused to leave me." She said and he watched her for any expression, but there was nothing there.

"She found me what felt like days later, after everyone had already evacuated and been gone. I had given up hope and I knew I was going to die there. It was... Terrifying. The darkness was ebbing ever closer and I heard whatever had attacked us moving around overhead." She whispered and he nodded, he understood how scary it was being trapped and not being able to escape. "I heard fighting and then I called for help. When the fighting stopped, the rubble had started moving and I was scared I had called for help to the wrong side..." She laughed softly, but the sadness in her eyes had him feeling the same way. He hated that his friend felt this way.

"When I saw her face... I wanted nothing more than to cry. Her rage... Her beautiful rage. It was truly fearsome and she looked as if she were a war-torn warrior. She was always the one meant to fight, always the one who defended me... She was... incredible." She sighed wistfully. "If you ever have the chance to research a tribal warrior princess, do it. That is who my sister was. Healing those who needed healing and dealing the final hand to those who deserved it." She said and her eyes darkened.

"And I am the reason she is dead now."

That caught him off guard. He watched her carefully, not understanding what she meant. She took a deep breath and decided to delve further on the explanation. "When she had broken through the rubble to get me, she was already injured. When she came down for me, she had her med kit strapped to her back. She knew I was going to be hurt." She paused at this and he felt that she was upset. "She slipped down into the area where I was trapped and ended up slashing her thigh open. She was bleeding everywhere, but she was more concerned with getting me free." Kira said as she ran her fingers over the minimal scar.

"It was a femoral bleed, wasn't it?" he asked and she nodded silently and he shook his head. "She knew she only had so long before it was going to make her give in." Kira said softly and he nodded. He had seen many awoken fall in battle because of femoral artery bleeds. They were devastating and hard to control, even with proper medical training.

"She offered her other knee to me and said, Bite. Bite as hard as you can or have to." Kira said and Uldren stared at her with wide eyes. "So... I did. I situated my jaw to get the best grip I could and once she raised that blade over her head... I bit down." Kira said and He continued watching her as she spoke. "I broke a tooth off in the cloth of her pants, but she kept working. I knew she was in pain, but between my screams and her pained grunts, I couldn't think of anything else." She said and sighed as she looked up to the ceiling, tears falling from her evergreen eyes.

"She struggled to carry me out of that place... And when we finally made it out, she looked down at her leg and released only a laugh. It was such a sad one... I don't know why I so vividly remember this... but I feel like it is important. She told me... Go home... go to your husband and leave me behind. She told me to let her die where she sat because she knew there was no one who could fix her." Kira whispered and Uldren frowned as he closed the mechanical limb. He believed he had it finished now. Now all he had to do was attach it to her.

He turned to her and she looked like she wanted to cry. "What happened to her?" He asked and she looked over at him with those sad shimmering eyes. "I don't know. Last I saw... I looked back and it looked like she was going to take the leg herself. I don't understand why I was brought back and she wasn't..." She whispered and he shook his head. "You guardians are odd that way." He sighed as her ghost hovered around her. "Miss Kira... Forgive me for choosing you, but I felt like you were destined for greatness. Something in me told me to choose you..." He said and she looked over at the ghost.

"You have nothing to apologize for, now I have to figure out what you think I am here to do." She sighed and he looked over at her. A sudden shock went through his system and he furrowed his brows as he looked towards the door, where moments later, Petra Venj burst through. "Your grace! Mara needs you immediately." She said and he nodded. He jumped to his feet, only to see Kira struggling with her Prosthetic so she could follow as well. He turned back to help her get it back in place before they took off towards where his sister stood before her throne. "Yes, sister?" He asked and she turned to him with a worried look. "The fallen are on the move. They seem to be targeting the traveler this time. We are going to provide interference." She said and he nodded, not fully understanding why they were going to step in.

"If we don't interfere the fallen will take the light and use it against us." Kira said and Mara nodded. It seemed she understood better than he did. "Alright, so when do we move out?" He asked and Mara frowned. "Immediately." She said and he nodded. "Kira, let's go." He said and she tottered behind him. He rushed down to the armory and whipped open the door. He handed her royal awoken guard armor and she held it for a moment before he started rifling through weapons. He handed her a hand cannon and she took it graciously. He began strapping on his own armor, so she followed suit.

Petra rushed in and began arming herself as well. "You two will be with me." She said quickly and they watched her silently. "We are going to be fighting alongside the queen, but if there seem to be any fallen who make an escape she wants us to take them down." She said as she strapped a weapon to her hip. He nodded and looked over to Kira, who seemed to be ready as well. "When did the queen notice they were making a move?" Kira asked and Petra glanced at her as they made their way to where the fleet was docked. "She had been watching them for a while but received some intel that they were going to make a move on the last city within the next few days. We still have the element of surprise so we can sneak in and take out as many as we can before they even know what is going on." She said and Kira nodded.

They each boarded their ships and awaited their orders. Once the Queen had boarded her barge, they took to the skies. They came upon a small planet called Ceres and once they and their small fleet had been spotted, Uldren heard the Queen and their leader going back and forth, he clearly didn't see them as a threat, which made Uldren smirk. He would soon sorely regret underestimating all of them, but mostly his dear sister.

"I am Lord of Wolves. You are an empty thing with two dead souls. This is my House. These are my terms. Surrender and I will only take your ships." The Fallen kell said and he couldn't help the smirk that crossed his lips. "I am noble too, oh Lord of Wolves." Mara bit back, not an ounce of uncertainty in her strong voice. "You have no line. You have no power." The fallen bit back, motioning to their small fleet. 'Family lineage means nothing in this you fool.' He thought in his mind and he felt his sister's agitation upon hearing his thoughts. 'And we are gravely outnumbered brother. This could go their way if we aren't careful.' She chastised in his mind and he let out a disgruntled sigh.

"Starlight was my mother, and my father was the Dark." She called out and the fallen released an amused laugh. "Call on them, then, and see what help they offer." He bit out as he motioned for his fallen to prepare for a fight. "Surrender your ships and return home. We have no desire to fight with you." He called out and Mara stepped back towards her Techuens. "I have no intentions of surrendering to you." She said and the fallen Kell, Viraxis, seemed to be agitated by this response. His fallen began readying weapons, but Uldren already knew that it was already too late.

The brilliant white glow of the Queen's Harbingers began to form. Slowly swirling into much bigger orbs of light, it seemed to captivate the fallen down below. One by one, the harbingers shot towards Ceres and collided with its surface. Fallen fell everywhere the harbingers collided. When the light of the harbingers died down, it was utter devastation down below. Dead fallen were strewn about, their leader Viraxis was one of the deceased. Mara fell to her knees and her Techeuns helped her to her seat so she could rest. Uldren knew that the harbingers were hard on her. He narrowed his eyes as fallen ships began taking off. "Don't follow them. We will go after them later, but now... I need to rest." Mara called out and Uldren restarted the engine of his fighter.

"We will allow them to regroup and take them out as they do so." Mara ordered and his lip curled up in irritation. He was going to do what he was brought here for. Kira was watching him, he knew this, but he felt this was something he had to do. He took off, only to see soon enough that Petra's ship was right beside him. "Disobeying a direct order I see." He chuckled and she threw him a dirty look from the screen in front of him. "Babysitting you, as always." She bit back with a smirk and he chuckled. "Of course." He said as he began to lay down fire on one of the fallen ships in his sight.

A series of good hits to the engine and it blew. He jerked his ship to the right to avoid the debris that flew at him. He glanced to see that there was a ketch trying to jump into hyperdrive and he followed suit. He knew it would be hours before they reached where they were going so he set the ship to autopilot and sat back. "What are we doing?" Kira asked and He glanced back at her. "We are going to take it upon ourselves to take out the stragglers." He said and she nodded. He liked the ferocity that coated her features just then. A warrior is what he saw.

:-:-:

Kira kicked down yet another barricade the fallen had set up and he quirked a brow at her. "Itching to fight much?" he asked and she offered a smirk. "How long have we been at this? I just want to get it over with already." She sighed as she shoved more debris from her path. "About a month or so." He said and she popped her knuckles. "I think I could get used to this." She chuckled as she charged through a door and took out a fallen captain swathed in blue. "You wolves are getting on my last nerve!" she growled as she began punching dregs left and right.

She knocked her knuckles together and a shockwave of arc energy sent fallen flying all around her. Some of the fallen began crying out in Eliksni and taking off trying to escape her. That woman was a horror to behold apparently. He followed her wave of destruction through the building. He took care of any fallen that didn't immediately die from her path of devastation. He followed her into a large room where it was crawling with fallen. She looked around at all of them with curious green eyes. "So, you still want to fight?" He asked and she popped her neck to the left and then once more to the right. "Typical of a titan." He muttered and she offered a smirk over her shoulder. He stepped back and attempted to steer clear of any dirt and rubble that went flying as she fought.

She didn't like to use weapons when she herself, was a weapon. He watched her fight, but was actually decently amused as some of the fallen began yelling something at her in eliksni. When she had come down to the last dreg he crawled backwards away from her hissing the entire time. He watched as she actually held sadness in her eyes as she crouched and offered a hand to him. "You never once tried to hurt me." She said and he watched her carefully. "Perhaps this one will join the ones you have already brought back to the queen." Uldren offered and she looked to the dreg as it had stopped crawling away. He looked down to the dreg and asked him if he would join them in Eliksni. The dreg seemed to contemplate the offer only to nod and drop his weapon.

"Good!" Kira chirped as she clapped her hands together. Uldren was not going to mention the fact that, as with all the other fallen they had brought to the reef, it was join or die. He wasn't going to tell kira that though. She wouldn't approve of it, but then again she was usually the one taking them down. He loaded the lone dreg aboard his ship when he looked over at her. "You know they have a name for you now?" he chuckled and she gave him an interested look. "What could that be?" She asked and threw a glance at the small dreg that cowered away from her.

"Wolvesbane."

"Only seems fitting I say." She said as she kicked back in the pilots seat. He shook his head as he sat along the wall as the ship took off, her ghost taking control. He had to admit... he did enjoy not having to fly his own ship. They had just gotten comfortable when a distress signal popped up on the monitor. "This is a message for anyone of the Awoken fleet nearby! I'm requesting an airstrike on the hellmouth of the moon! We have the enemy cornered and we need backup!" Petra's voice rang out in the ship. "Ghost go now!" Kira commanded and the small robot began flying that way.

"This is Prince Uldren Sov of the Reef! Anyone in proximity of the hellmouth evacuate immediately!" He broadcasted this to every frequency he could. "Ghost! Repeat my broadcast to any guardians who could be nearby!" Uldren commanded and the ghost did as he was told. He rushed to the back of the ship and began loading the artillery into the drop rack. He readied the weapon and made his way back to the front where he took control. He swooped down and hit the button to drop the artillery. His entire body froze as he made eye contact with someone down below. He couldn't find the air to breathe, much less to attempt to yell at them to get out of there. Everything seemed to slow down as he watched as the shells landed.

Nine.

Nine guardians...

He stepped back away from the controls as he watched the aftermath of the explosion. Bodies littered the ground and he couldn't stop staring at them. He had done this... He heard voices in the distance and he slowly looked around to see who was talking but it all came out warbled. He looked over to Kira who grabbed him by the shoulders and shook him roughly. "My prince! We have to go! Those were guardians!" She snapped at him and he looked over at her, his eyes still wide in shock. He... hadn't meant for that to happen. His eyes kept falling back to the bodies of the nine guardians he had just gunned down with an air strike. He looked down at the men and women he had just murdered and he struggled to catch his breath. What snapped him out of his daze was a sharp searing pain across his cheek.

He blinked and looked up to her to see her hand still in the air from where she had slapped him. He reached up to touch the searing pain filled cheek. "Petra said she would handle it, we have to go... NOW!" she snarled and shoved him out of the way of the pilot's seat. He couldn't help but watch her from the daze. What had he done? He stared at his hands and his mind was envisioning their blood on his hands. "My prince... It was the lives of the few over the lives of the many!" She snapped at him and he looked at her with confused eyes.

"The fallen and the Hive were going to overrun and escape the moon... You did what you thought was right, even if it hurts... You have to think that what you did was right. You were only doing what you were asked. Now get it together." She commanded as she steered the ship back towards the reef. "Kira... I..." "You nothing. If you want to see yourself as a murderer and hold that title the rest of your life, feel free to... To me and to Petra... You made a split second decision that will save more lives than it took. You have to remember that always..." She said this softly, but it didn't stop the guilt from gripping at him.

He stayed silent the entire way home, he couldn't think of anything to say. When they arrived back at the reef he made his way to his sister's throne room. He already heard yelling and was fully prepared to receive his punishment from his sister. Kira had taken the dreg to put him with the other fallen. He entered the room and his sister's sharp gaze was on him immediately, but not once did she falter in her yelling at Petra, who was kneeling before her. "Explain yourself now." She commanded and he opened his mouth to speak, but Petra spoke first.

"He only did as I requested, my Queen. You Should only be angry with me. He took all the right moves to ensure the place was evacuated and it was not." She said and Mara glanced between the two of them. "Fine." She bit out and waved them both off. Petra stood and made her way past him. He made his way to his room and threw everything off of his desk. He needed to punch something before he destroyed something in his room. He walked back out of his room and made his way to the dojo where the Corsairs trained.

When he opened the doors all within stopped what they were doing and bowed. "Someone spar with me." He commanded, but none of them stepped up to fight him. He glanced off to the corner where the all too familiar white head of hair was. "Kira." He called and she shoved herself off the wall. "Ok, but after you and I spar, Jollyon wants a go." She said and he looked over to see the white haired male sitting atop some crates. "Of course." He said and ditched his gloves and armor to the side. She understood his rage right now, that was what made her such a good companion.

She shrugged off her armor as well and held her fists out in front of her. He lunged for her and she ducked out of the way of his hit. She hopped to avoid the sweeping motion of his leg. She caught every last one of his punches and he would have been impressed had he not known that he got sloppy when he was angry. He stepped back and began taking calming breaths. He just needed to blow off some steam and get this self hate out of his system. He closed his eyes for a moment and tried to get his emotions under control once more. She changed her stance and he knew things were going to get serious. He lunged for her once more and she dropped to the floor to avoid the hit. He smirked as he flipped to drop a kick on her but she lunged in midair and sent him flying with an elbow to the gut.

He wasn't expecting that one. He picked himself up off the floor and waited for her to make a move. He wasn't sure if she was going to because she never did when he was trying to spar his anger away. "Fight me for real and I will give you the new leg." He said and a wicked smirk crossed her lips at this. And... he knew he had her. She was great on the defensive, but against him her offensive was sometimes lacking. She lunged for him and he grabbed her wrist and threw her past him, but she used that momentum to rearrange herself and lunge right back for him.

She punched him in the right side, but he grabbed her fist as she tried to pull it away from him. He pulled her closer and dropped his elbow into the center of her back. When she wheezed and tried to catch her breath he tripped her and kicked off her prosthetic. She rolled over onto her back and flipped him off. "You are an asshole. Picking on a damn cripple. What the hell is wrong with you?" she laughed and he couldn't contain the laugh that escaped him. He sat down beside her on the floor and shook his head. "Don't worry Jollyon. You'll get your turn to spar with me." Uldren sighed and Jollyon chuckled.

"Oh no. I didn't want to fight you." He said and Uldren looked at him oddly. Jollyon pointed to the legless woman in the floor and offered an amuse smirk. Uldren looked at her and she had the biggest shit eating grin on her face. "Hey, I was sad. Thought maybe if I got a good workout out of you and then you fought him I might get a shirtless spar session that I would remember for the rest of my life." She said with a shrug and tried to lean up but he shoved her over. "You are such a little pervert." Uldren scoffed and she shrugged once more.

"Thank you."

"For what?" she asked and he rolled his eyes. "Being a fool at the right moment." He said and she grinned at him. "But of course, can't be a little badass all the time." She said and he scoffed at her and stood. He stretched lightly then turned to walk away. He heard her shuffling across the floor in a panic and he smirked. "Hey! You asshole!" She yelled as he continued towards the door of the dojo. "You big asshat you better get back here and help me up right now or so help me!!!" she screamed and he turned to look at her. "Or what?" He asked, the smirk not once leaving his lips. "You'll kick my ass?" He asked and she glared at him from the floor.

"Kinda hard to do that with only one leg." He chuckled as he turned back around, only to hear her growl. "Jollyon give me a hand would you?"

:-:-:-:

"You're an asshole." She grumbled and he could only smirk. "And you're such a peach yourself." He chuckled as he thumped the stump of her leg. He was feeling along the perfect heal to try and figure out where he needed to cut. The join in the heal was honestly immaculate. He could feel the very slight scar on the underside and he nodded. "Ok... so here's the deal." He began and she gave him a dirty look that he ignored. "I'm mad at you. You told me three weeks ago I could have the leg and now suddenly you expect me to believe you when you say you're gonna put it on? Dirty liar." She grumbled and he ignored that remark as well. He reached to strap her leg down on the medical table, and the moment he did it seemed she understood that he was actually going to do it.

"Look, after I do this you're going to need some rest." He said and she nodded. Good she understood that this was going to be extremely hard on her. "I want to be asleep. I don't want to feel anything while you do this." She said and he nodded. "Of course... I wouldn't put you through that." He said and He motioned for the ghost. "I'm going to kill her. Be sure to stand by to revive." Uldren said and Kira looked at him in fear. "I don't have the means to keep you unconscious long enough to do this." He said and it seemed she understood. "Because I could wake at any given time unless I were dead." She sighed and he offered a slightly sympathetic glance.

"Try not to make it traumatizing cause I don't wanna wake up with the memory of your meaty man hands smothering me." She sighed and he rolled his eyes at her. "Make me just look to the left real quick." She said with an amused smile and he fought to keep his amused look at bay. "Oh... wait... keep your meaty man hands off my neck." She said as she realized that would require him having to put his hands on her. "Shut up or I will do it anyways." He chuckled and she shot him another dirty look. "Actually let me do it myself. That way you don't feel bad later." She said and he handed her a weapon. "I wish we had another way to do it cause I sure didn't wanna have to bite the bullet on this one, but I guess if I gotta..." She joked before she pulled the trigger.

"I cant stand you, damn fool." He sighed as he set to work. Her ghost was watching his every move, from the slice of his knife across her stump to him looking for viable nerves to use. He worked as fast as he could to attach the nerves to the connection plate. When he did that he held the plate against her leg and worked on screwing on the support piece. It was basically a huge washer that screwed up onto the plate and over her leg. He then began cleaning the site and preparing it for the attachment of the leg. He began connecting the wiring and pressed the appendage to the base. He shoved it roughly into the socket until he heard the loud click of it locking into place. He looked to the ghost who had burst open to begin working on reviving her.

When she sat up, she groaned loudly. "Man... does my head hurt." She grumbled and he shook his head. It was at this point that the pain of her nerves began setting in. She released a scream of pain and gripped the infirmary bed tightly. He frowned, he knew this was going to hurt her, but this was going to be a better limb than the removable one he had put on her before. "Breathe." He commanded and she began taking deep breaths. "Now... you will be down for a while, but eventually you will stop hurting. I had to attach the nerves to the sensors for it to be able to work as well as a real leg." He said and she nodded through her pained breathing.

"Try and wiggle your toes."

A spastic movement from her mechanical big toe made every bit of the pain his friend was going through worth it. She looked up at him and held the brightest joy on her pain filled face. "The more you work with it the less you will hurt, so keep at it. No trying to walk until I'm around, alright?" she nodded and continued trying to wiggle her toes, wincing in pain as she did so.

"I see it worked." A familiar voice came from behind him and he turned to see Eris Morn. "Ah... what a pleasure." He said, sarcasm basically dripping off of his voice. "Of course it is." She said back, the same level of distaste in her voice. "Come with me," she said and he almost didn't. He didn't trust this woman as far as he could throw her, and he wouldn't even risk doing that. Once they were out of Kira's earshot, she turned to him once more. "I need the leg you were working on before that one." She said and he furrowed his brow. "That one will kill someone." He said and she nodded softly. "Yes... But for now... it will save someone." She said and he turned to retrieve the limb from his workshop.

"I'm going with you. I'm the only one who knows how to attach these." He said and she shook her head. "No... I fully understand how you did it. I can do it myself. But if you must so desire to follow, do so at a distance." She said and he refrained from making another remark towards her. "Fine. I will stay at a distance." He grumbled, only to become even more irate that a certain titan was making their way over to them. "Nina." He greeted sourly, only for her to offer a short bow in greeting. She was too nice. Disturbingly so. He remembered the woman she was before, even if she had been brought back she would always be that person. Two years didn't change anything, they were still enduring the same war and for him the wound was still fresh.

He swiftly returned to his sister upon feeling the waves of grief washing over her. It was suffocating and he had never felt her grieve this way. He shoved open the doors to the throne room, only to see awoken blood spattered the walls. Blood coating his sister's hands and the woman in her grasp. A lone strange coin was clutched tightly between his sister's fingers. The first Queen's Wrath, Sjur Eido. "What happened?" He asked, but no one could give him a definite answer. That... was when he looked around the room to see other bodies scattered about. The only one of the Queen's Guard that was not there?

Niwyn Narise

The entire personal guard lay dead around the room, except for her.

He knew at that moment that she had done it. His sister's grief clouded her judgement on allowing this... traitor back in their midst. He didn't understand why his sister didn't see that it had been her. All he would have to do to prove it would be to catch her with the bow. He glared at her once more. It had been a well over two years since she had vanished, only for her to return to the queen as a risen months later. He knew that if she had fought Sjur, she was most likely gravely injured which would be the reason she had become a risen... she didn't deserve to be classified as a guardian. Not like Kira.

He shook himself from his thoughts when he noticed that Eris was speaking once more. "We have found a guardian whose ghost has been searching for them a long time. I need this one personally." Eris said and although he didn't quite completely understand, he kind of did as well. He could understand needing a guardian, but a certain one in particular? He didn't understand that part.

"Run me through the attachment of the limb once more while we go to the ship bay." She said and he nodded as he followed her. He walked her through it once more. They each boarded their own ships and he took off following her. They landed on Mars outside of a broken down Braytech facility. They got as close as they could without spooking the ghost as it surveyed they area. Uldren watched the small creature scanning everything it came across. "How did you know it would come here?" He asked and Eris gave him a side glance.

"I led him here. I was the one slipping him information about where a possible guardian was." She said and he nodded softly. "And how did you know it was his guardian?" He was skeptical of whatever response she could give to this one. "His ingrained DNA was shared with two other guardians. One was a perfect match." She said and he furrowed his brows at this. "A perfect match?" he asked and slight amusement flickered through her gaze. "Her DNA matches that of the little girl you have following you almost everywhere lately." She said and this caught him completely off guard.

The all too familiar pulse of energy caught his attention and he looked over to where the ghost hovered in midair, almost in a panic. A pained yell rang out and he moved a little closer so he could get a better look. Eris walked up to this new guardian and began talking about an Exo of hers that was missing. Talking about how she needed to lay still so she could attach the limb and how it wouldn't be a permanent one.

He listened carefully, careful not to be seen by the guardian or its ghost. He watched as Eris and Nina helped the woman to her feet and urged her to try to walk. He frowned at this, because even he wouldn't have made them move yet. Silver eyes scanned their surroundings and landed on him, and his heart froze in his chest for a moment. He couldn't find the air in his lungs either. When she finally broke eye contact, saying something about being unable to see well, the air returned to his lungs. He watched them as Eris took her aboard her ship. Eris taking a swift moment to meet gazes with him. She knew something about this woman that she wasn't telling him, other than the fact she was Kira's twin. He desperately wanted to find out. He listed as the woman introduced herself as Ashura.

'Ashura, huh?'

He was going to have to do some investigating on this one. With Kira's help of course...
