Chapter 3: Reaching for Stars
Dipper shook as he stood up slowly, staring at the non-moving form of his black haired friend, Fourrest, who's blood pooled around the small area of the blue tent. Tears had begun to build up in the brunet's eyes the longer he stared, so the 13 year old forced himself to look away.
Still shaking, the teen stalked over to the door flap in the wall of his large tent. But instead of opening the flap, crouched by it, and watched the silhouette of the brunet's possessed sister, Babel, seem to wait for the brown eyed teen to walk out.
Tears were now freely flowing from the boy's eyes as he propelled himself through the door flap, tackling Babel. "Why are you so bent on destroying my life?" Dipper hissed as he held the yellow eyed demon to the ground. Even though having the higher ground, the brunet was thrown halfway across the clearing by demonic magic, and was slammed into the aftermath of the camp fire from the night before, scattering the surviving sticks, rocks, and charcoal.
Dipper started coughing from the ashes that covered him, and soon collapsed from being unable to breathe properly. As the coughing boy lay there, Babel approached, gaining speed the closer he-she got.
The brunet was finally able to get up and stand back. As he was backing up from the Dream Demon, Dipper bolted for the woodland. Although before he could reach the cover of the bramble thicket, the brunet was dragged backwards and hung upside down by his foot.
Babel started to laugh hysterically as the demon lifted the teen higher and higher into the air. "Wow Pine Tree, you don't put up much of a fight, do you?" As he said that, he snapped his fingers, and a rope appeared, a faint blue light emanating from it. Dipper's eyes widened. I'm going to end up like Tonie!
The rope was getting closer to the upside down brunet before suddenly stopping, and the teen looked down, or up, or at the ground at the demon lifting him to see that the yellow eyed freak was looking at something that Dipper couldn't observe.
The floating brown eyed boy suddenly heard a familiar voice whisper in his ear. His sister's voice. "Fourrest is distracting Bill, I'll go find Tonie, and see if I can get her to help..." Dipper nodded, though straining with the effort to move his head from the pressure of being suspended in the air and hung upside down.
The 13 year old didn't realize how long he'd been in the air until he started to get very dizzy, and small black dots covered his vision. I am not dying today! The brunet thought to himself, and tried to at least stop from passing out, but failed and the world went black.
Dipper opened his eyes to see Fourrest, Mabel, and Tonie surrounding him. The brunet recognized the area the four of them were in as the Mystery Shack's basement, and the teens were standing in front of the broken down portal. Fourrest turned his head to look at Dipper, and spoke. "Dipper, we needed to tell you something that could not have been said in your wakeful state."
Tonie picked it up from there, her voice slightly raspy and low, "You can't end up like we did. You don't know what would happen to this world. Bill has destroyed it once, so nothing's stopping that bastard from doing it again. Except for you." Mabel stepped forward and Dipper could see tears forming in the brunette's brown eyes.
"Dip," the 13 year old hugged him. "please don't die. Please don't let the corruption take you, like it did me and Tonie. Even Fourrest is starting to get corrupted." Dipper looked over to Fourrest, and noticed that the pale spirit's eyes were white nearly entirely. All that was left was the teens irises, which were a pale blue, like those of a blind person's.
Looking back to Mabel, the brunet hugged his sister back. The girl pulled back after about a minute and looked Dipper straight in the eye. "You need to wake up now, and run..."
Dipper's eye's shot open like a bullet as he stood up, realizing that he was on solid ground once more. The brunet searched the clearing for Babel, and found the demon distracted and looking into the forest. "Music Note, I know you're there! Don't think I wasn't watching your little meeting with Pine Tree, Shooting Star, and Yin Yang!" Bill sneered and a mutilated looking teenage girl walked out from the shadows.
Tonie looked over to the watching brunet. "Pine Tree, you need to go!" You shouldn't see this... Dipper heard the last sentence in his head, and looked back at the demon hybrid. The brown eyed teen nodded, and with tears filling his vision, ran over to the golf cart, and sped off into the woods.
As the 13 year old drove far from the scene he left behind, an explosion sounded from the clearing, and after that, a fit of maniacal laughter. The horrible sound rang in Dipper's ears and head. The tears that had been building in his brown eyes now started to fall. Unable to see and think clearly, the teenager parked the small white vehicle and caught his breath.
Dipper closed his brown eyes and the moment they closed, the brunet was thrown into darkness again.
The teen was back in the portal room, but this time it was empty aside from him. "Mabel? Fourrest? Tonie?" Dipper called out, but received no response. After trying a few more times, the 13 year old just gave up and sat down, leaning his back against the inactive dimension gateway.
Sighing, the brown eyed boy started having thoughts in his head. Thoughts about Fourrest, Mabel, and Tonie. Thoughts about when the Pines twins met the strange duo. Thoughts about the summer that led up to this very moment. Dipper didn't realize that he was crying harder than before, and only just now realized someone calling his name. He looked up and around and the voice became clearer.
"Wendy?" It was Wendy's voice, and as the brunet got up, his vision began to fade, and as it became black, the forest of Gravity Falls returned once more.
"Dipper! Dipper come here!" Wendy's voice called again and Dipper started up the golf cart again, driving towards the familiar voice. The teen drove not ten feet before he was able to recognize the tall figure of Wendy Corduroy.
The red head saw the distraught brunet and ran over to him. "Dipper, what's wrong?"
The younger teen just looked forward, towards the Shack, and whispered, "We are not safe out here..." Wendy gave the boy a questioning look, but looked into the forest as a blood curdling scream filled the area.
The sound rung in the teenagers' ears as the younger brunet half-dragged the taller girl over to the tourist trap. The brown eyed teenager was shaking the entire time.
As soon as the two of them were inside, Wendy blurted out, "Dipper, what the Hell is wrong? You look like you've seen a murder!"
"I have..." the boy muttered, barely audible in a shaky voice, tears silently streaming down his face. "I never wanted this. I never wanted any of this..." The teen slid down to the ground against the door and put his head on his knees. "None of this should have happened..."
"Dude, what happened? Where is everyone else?" Dipper slowly looked up at the 16 year old, who was kneeling down to the brunets level, and whispered, "They aren't coming back... For the Depravity has claimed their souls..."
