home alone

The first class in Jimin's schedule ended, and Jimin went straight to the cafeteria together with Aeri, having their lunch peacefully now until suddenly Jaeho appeared out of nowhere in front of them, asking if he could join.

"Can I?", he asked with his weird, boxy smile.

Jimin and Aeri looked at each other exchanging signals from one another. Should they let him, or shouldn't they? Both expressions were awkward, hesitating to let Jaeho sit with them. But, it would be rude of them to directly reject him, in the end, they just accept it.

"Y-Yeah. Sure", Jimin answered with her low voice and hesitating smile.

"Yeay!", he said happily and rushed towards the empty seat beside Jimin. Aeri and Jimin could only be silent since the situation suddenly became so awkward.

"Hmm... Jaeho, right?", Aeri asked. "Didn't you have friends? To eat with?", Aeri continued with her eyebrows lifted, and later Jaeho lifted his head up, looking at Aeri while smirking. "Of course, I do have them! What kind of nonsense question is that?", he asked back with a chuckle, smiling, but annoying both Jimin and Aeri. He didn't even hesitate to enjoy his food despite the tension.

*****

Not far away from Jimin, there was Minjeong, standing as she leaned her back on the wall, holding her arm together in front of her chest. Wearing her black cap, black leather jacket, and denim jeans, Minjeong thought she just wanted to walk through the cafeteria without having much problem.

But then, she saw Jimin. She saw the Japanese too, and Minjeong knew that she was her best friend. So that wasn't a problem for her.

But, the problem is when she sees that guy right next to Jimin. Unfamiliar with him, that's when Minjeong decided to stay still and keep her eyes on him, examining his every action.

She was unsure at first. She thought she had seen this guy somewhere, but couldn't remember when and where. When she tried to think deeply again, that's when she finally realized.

He's one of them.

So, Minjeong ran.

Furious steps came closer and closer towards Jimin's direction. Angry face is evident, while people around her just looking at Minjeong in confusion, like- who the hell running at a campus cafeteria like a seven-year-old kid who didn't learn manners in a public space?

The angry footsteps also brought Jimin and Aeri's attention to Minjeong's direction, but not Jaeho, minding his own eating business.

Jimin was shocked, her eyes widened when she saw Minjeong just getting closer and closer with fist in both her hands, brows furrows angrily. The older girl feels a rush of panic in her blood. What if everyone knows that they are actually married? What if people know that Jimin married a problematic slut that they always said, like Minjeong?

Minjeong stands right beside Jimin, Aeri, and Jaeho's table. Jimin's trembling eyes slowly shifted at Minjeong nervously while Aeri keep munching her food slowly while looking at Minjeong in confusion. Meanwhile, Jaeho still didn't even move his eyes, not even bothering to look at the girl who just appeared beside them.

Minjeong tried to catch Jaeho's attention by coughing hard once, but still, that guy really didn't have any wits. He didn't even try to look.

"W-What are you doing here?", Jimin asked Minjeong in her whisper-like voice, but Minjeong eyes still glared sharply at Jaeho, shooting death glares continuously. The fist on her hands tightens even more, feeling the blood starts to boil even further and further.

"You!", Minjeong said out loud, pointing her finger towards him. Jaeho was finally startled, turning his head towards Minjeong's angry face with his usual boxy smile before it slowly started to fall apart.

"Y-You...", his eyes widened, realizing who she was.

Minjeong eyes weren't fully healed yet from the fistfight days ago. Her eyes still had those blue and red shades, but it was enough for Jaeho to see the anger inside Minjeong's eyes. Their meeting that day ended up in disaster, despite Jaeho knowing it a bit later than the others. the reason why Minjeong punched his three friends that day. Suddenly, Jaeho smirked, knowing the reason why Minjeong was here, pointing a finger at him.

Despite the surprise and Jimin's confusion, Minjeong still looked at Jaeho intensely with her hands still in fist.

"Yes, you...", Minjeong said before she continue with her deepest and darkest voice, "Fuck... Off..."

Jimin never heard Minjeong's voice that stern but so scary at the same time. Even Jimin could feel the chills from the younger girl's words. Despite Minjeong always talking to her rudely, this time just by looking at Minjeong's widening, bloodshot, murderous eyes, and her extremely cold and bold voice, Jimin knew that something wasn't right here.

"Ah...", Jaeho suddenly nodded his head lightly. "Now I see the reason why", he smirked.

"Fine. I will leave", he stands up from his seat and leaves the group quietly, still with his smile and it really irritates Minjeong to death. Jimin and Aeri looked at Jaeho who slowly walked away from them, questions filled both of their head.

"Is there something wrong, Minjeong?", Jimin asked as she pulled the edge of Minjeong's jacket lightly. Minjeong didn't answer her. "Did he do something to you?", Minjeong asked as she covered her swollen left eye with her hand, trying not to attract the other's attention.

"No, but... what's wrong with you? Did you know him?", Jimin asked again. Aeri feels so left out, just looking at them in confusion. Despite the Japanese knowing that Jimin was a part of Kim's family since Jimin was little, it wasn't that weird to see these two talking to one another. So, Aeri tried to shrug off the thoughts.

"I don't know him. Don't mind me, it's none of your business", Minjeong said as she tried to walk away from Jimin, not until Jimin grabbed one of Minjeong's angry fists and held it tightly, caressing them with her thumbs.

"Then, why are you acting like this? There's something wrong, isn't it?", Jimin tried to ask again, staring into Minjeong's eyes with warmth before Minjeong slowly shifted her eyes back to Jimin's, flashing a tiny apologetic gaze. Minjeong sighed heavily before she pulled her hand away from Jimin's grab gently.

"Come with me", Minjeong said in her low voice before she walked away from the cafeteria. Still confused more than ever, Jimin quietly got up from her seat after mouthing a sorry to Aeri, following right behind Minjeong's steps.

"Why are you running and shouting in such a public space? People are looking at you. Don't you afraid that we might get caught?", Jimin warns as they finally stop at a secluded area, where there's no one around to see.

"Don't- you- ever- hang out- with that guy- again. Understand?", Minjeong said sternly, looking at Jimin's eyes intesnely. The older girl couldn't help but chuckle as a funny thought suddenly ran through her head. "Are you jealous, Minjeong?", Jimin laughs lightly.

"I am not", Minjeong answered immediately, strongly denying it. "I'm warning you, Yu Jimin. Don't ever be near to that guy, I swear to god".

"Why? He's my classmate. I was paired up with him for an upcoming task and we could meet again after this. How can I avoid him?", Jimin asked, confused. What's wrong with Minjeong right now? She felt like Minjeong was being jealous, but her actions weren't quite right for someone who is jealous. Minjeong's action was more like hatred rather than jealousy.

"Don't mind the reason. Just do all your tasks by yourself. No need to include him in this matter", Minjeong said as she tried to hide the truth. Jimin gasped in disbelief. No, she would never let that happen.

"By letting him become a free rider for the task? No! That's not fair to me at all. Instead, could you just tell me the reason why should I avoid him?", Jimin asked while lifting her eyebrows.

"You gonna continue to be stubborn, aren't you?", Minjeong scoffed in desperation, rolling her eyes as she fixed her cap back in position.

"Yeah, why not?", Jimin challenges. "It's not like you didn't always being stubborn towards me", Jimin said trying to piss Minjeong off.

Gave up, Minjeong stomped her feet angrily, turning her head towards Jimin in anger. "Fine! If there's something happens to you later, don't say that I never warn you before!", Minjeong is so pissed off by Jimin's words, decided to leave the older girl, but again, Jimin grabbed one of her hands and brings Minjeong's attention back towards her.

"Fine-fine! I will do as you say! I'll avoid him, okay?", Jimin sighs between her small smile, feeling a slight guilt as she tries to accept her defeat. Minjeong finally let out a relieved heavy sigh.

"I beg you... Just- please, don't go near him...", Minjeong said while her hand still held by Jimin's. The older girl nodded her head silently before a small smile flashed on her face. "But actually, you are jealous right?", she teased again.

"I am not!"

*****

It's Friday, and Jimin takes a mind note that after her class ends, she needs to head straight to the Kim's family mansion. Jimin didn't feel that excited because she knew she needs to handle her problematic and stubborn wife for three days, not knowing that Minjeong was actually excited for this day to come.

Jimin was in her class, teaming up with the annoying Park Jaeho. She couldn't help herself from faking her smile all the time when he was with her. Seriously, this guy was really annoying. Maybe, much more annoying than Minjeong could be, Jimin thought once.

"Jimin, I have a question", Jaeho said with his brows lifted. "Who gave you that ring?", he pointed his finger to the silver ring on Jimin's finger, making the blonde startled by the sudden question.

"This? I bought this for myself. Why?", Jimin answered, obviously lying to him. "Oh, I see. I thought you got a boyfriend or something", he continued.

Jimin pointed her finger at herself in disbelief. "Me? Boyfriend? No, I didn't have a boyfriend", she ended her statement with a low laugh. She suddenly thought of Minjeong's words. If she saw how Jimin is together with Jaeho right now, she might be rebelling, shouting at Jimin and Jaeho mostly, telling him to fuck off again. But, what choice does Jimin have? It's for their damn bothersome assignment. Jimin can't do much about it.

"I see. Maybe... girlfriend?", Jaeho asked again, startling Jimin to death before she shook her head hardly. "No, I don't!", she said her words strongly. She's being truthful, because she really doesn't have a girlfriend. All she had is a wife.

"Really? But you know what? I think that girl the other day-"

"W-Who? I don't know anyone", Jimin cut him immediately only to make him look deeper into Jimin's eyes with a lot of curiosity.

"Nah. I know you knew, that one girl who suddenly asked me to leave my seat at the cafe a few days ago. I think that girl has a crush on you", Jaeho said innocently while looking at Jimin with his eyes full of confidence, his mouth turned into a smirk.

Jimin slowly started to feel a bit flustered. "Excuse me? No way", Jimin tried to deny him.

He laughs lightly, "Wanna know a story? A few days ago, my friends beat her up-"

"-Your friends what?", Jimin cuts her with her widened eyes.

Her sudden words startled him, now both looking at each other eyes in silence. The tension built up, as Jimin asked him, "Your friends beat her?", she stood up from her seat, slamming her hands on the innocent wood surface. Jaeho went silent, studying Jimin's actions.

"Why?", Jimin keep asking. "Tell me, why did they beat her?".

"It's- That day, I was sitting with my friends. There were four of us. I was sitting on the farthest side from where that girl was sitting. Between me and her are my three friends. That day, I was reading something on my phone as the three of them were talking. I swear to god, I don't know what they're talking about. But then, that girl suddenly appeared from nowhere and punched one of my friends! I'm confused as hell too!", Jaeho explained.

Jimin was dumbfounded. So that's the reason why Minjeong was beaten up a few days ago. But knowing Minjeong for years, Jimin knows that Minjeong only does things like that for a reason.

"Then, what?", Jimin asked. "You guys beat her up after that?", she continued, this time her eyes changed into anger while her hands formed into fists.

"Of course we did. Who would let anyone beat them up out of the blue? She was the weird one!", Jaeho blamed Minjeong for everything, hiding the fact that actually he also knew the truth behind his friends' talks that day, despite not paying much attention to them.

"You guys really-"

"-Are you okay, Jimin?", Jaeho cuts her words, realizing the blood that slowly burning Jimin from the inside.

Unbothered to continue this conversation further with him, Jimin packed her belongings immediately, putting everything inside her tote bag in a hurry, before she started to walk away from their meeting place. Jaeho looked at her in confusion, didn't get the idea of what she was trying to do.

"Hey! Where are you going?!!", he asked before Jimin answered him immediately.

"HOME!"

*****

Jimin got out of the taxi, standing right in front of the medium-sized mansion. She sighed a few times as she walked in before she was greeted by the home guards that she was already familiar with.

"Evening miss", the man said, but Jimin's eyes furrowed as she turned her attention to him. "Is Minjeong home?", she asked.

"Yeah. She was home about an hour ago", the guard answered. Jimin could only nod her head.

Suddenly, a thought flashed inside her mind. "Sir, may I ask you a question?", Jimin asked him politely, flashing her desperation. "Yes, miss. What is it?".

"Did Minjeong bring anyone home while I'm gone? Or... did someone else come here for... you know... for that?", Jimin's eyes furrow more, nervous about what the answer might come. But then, the guard's answer shocked her.

"There's no one, miss", the guard answered, fluttering Jimin's heart. "Really?".

"Yes, miss. She was all alone in the house while you were gone. The day before, and after you started staying here for a while because of her injuries, she also didn't meet anyone, nor anyone was here for her, miss", he answered.

"Really??", it was a bit hard for Jimin to believe. But, the guard keeps pouring out the good things, making Jimin believe more. "Yes. She also didn't even go out from home unless for classes. For her food, she ordered delivery services every day. Isn't that sound weird to you miss?", the guard asked her back.

"Y-Yes...", Jimin was too stunned to speak. "It's weird for me too", Jimin was dumbfounded, amazed, and somehow, touched. If Minjeong didn't go out at all, that means, she didn't drink outside, didn't do that with anyone, nor anyone doing that with her.

Is she really trying to change for good?

"I was so shocked and grateful at the same time. She did change a lot after your marriage, miss. I could see the improvements in her, and I could see the old Minjeong in her start to come back. Did you put a spell on her or something?", the guard asked with his happy smile, teasing Jimin with his laughs, and Jimin smiled back at him in relief. She's glad to know that Minjeong didn't make any problems while she was gone.

"I'm going inside to meet her. Thanks for the information, sir. I owe you", Jimin smiled one last time before she slipped her way between the slightly opened gate.

*****

Jimin headed inside, trying to find her wife but she was nowhere in the living room. So Jimin could only guess that she was upstairs, headed upstairs towards the guest room, and put her bag on the guest room bed before she headed back to Minjeong's door.

"Is she sleeping?", Jimin asked as she turned the doorknob slowly, peeking between the tiny space only to realize that her wife wasn't sleeping. But, Minjeong was sitting on her bed quietly, looking straight into Jimin's eyes, expressionless. Her face looks somehow dehydrated like she was tired or fed up about something.

Jimin starts to walk closer to her wife with a concerned expression, "Minjeong, are you okay? You look tired", Jimin asked, realizing the weak state of her wife. But, like always, Minjeong didn't bother to answer her at all.

"Minjeong, tell me the truth. Did something happen to you while I was gone? Did you keep a secret from me? Something happened to you, right?", Jimin stood right in front of the younger girl, her hands both on her wife's shoulder, squeezing it gently for confirmation. Slowly but surely, Minjeong lifted her head up, looking at Jimin with her empty looks.

"Nothing...", she answered.

"Really? If you have any problems, you can tell me. After all, I'm your wife", Jimin tried to smile slightly at Minjeong, trying to cheer her up.

But, Jimin didn't know that she was totally wrong. Despite the weak expression on her face, it wasn't because she was tired or depressed about something. It's actually because she wanted and craved for something.

And Minjeong knew she couldn't hold it for long.

Minjeong suddenly grabbed Jimin by her waist out of the blue, pulling her down onto the bed with her, before she pinned Jimin between her arms while still looking into Jimin's eyes with her empty gaze. Totally shocked, Jimin gulped nervously while trying her best to avoid Minjeong's intense gaze.

"Aren't- Aren't you... hungry?", Jimin eyes trembles, trying to find another topic as her heart started to beat at an abnormal counts. Her stomach twirls that it hurts in a good way. The way Minjeong keep staring into her eyes without saying anything makes Jimin gasped slowly for air. The way their body was insanely close to one another make it even worse.

"I followed your rules this week, Jimin...", Minjeong's words is soft but killing Jimin at the same time. "W-What...?", Jimin asked nervously.

"You know I couldn't hold myself long enough with your damn rules... But, then, I managed to-"

"Okay! I see-"

"I want it", Minjeong's confession could breaks Jimin's heart from beating too fast. "W-Want what?", and Jimin tried so hard to play dumb, before Minjeong continues.

"Can I have my rewards?"
