ambushed

Jimin was the kind of student who would focus on the lecture, jotting notes in her notebook almost every ten seconds from every word her professor would say.

But, it might be different this time.

Minjeong was sitting right behind her and kept poking Jimin on her shoulder with her tiny whispers that it somehow annoyed Jimin. This class wasn't even Minjeong's! But she couldn't be angry right now, because making a scene here would only result in her getting called to the dean's office. So, she tried to focus again and ignored Minjeong's desperation for attention.

"Psst! Jimin... The lecture is so boring..."

Still, Jimin ignored her.

If it was that boring to you, why did you follow me in the first place? Jimin thought. Sure, Minjeong told her that she just wanted to make sure that Jimin was safe and secure, away from that criminal they were looking out to.

But the two cops in disguise are with them too, inside the class. Why bother?

"Psst! Yu Jimin..."

Jimin keeps ignoring her.

"Psst! Wifey..."

That single word widen Jimin's eyes to the fullest. It's class time, and how dare you call me by that name! People will hear that! Jimin thought inside her mind.

"Psst! Bab—"

Minjeong's whispers were cut short when Jimin suddenly handed her a piece of paper. Minjeong started with a small smile as soon as she received it before it quickly turned into flat lips when she read the content.

Your punishment for telling about us to Aeri; I'll cut your hair short when we arrive home!!

Minjeong was startled for a short second because she really loved her ginger-coloured hair, which was a bit longer than her shoulder bones. That is what makes women attracted to her. But, thinking about it more, Minjeong didn't hate that idea. She smiled satisfyingly before leaning forward, closer to Jimin just enough for her wife to hear her whisper.

"I bet you will like me more in short hair....", her words came out sultry, giving goosebumps onto each part of Jimin's skin.

Freaking out, Jimin turned her head around, looking at Minjeong with her eyebrows furrowed as she whispered back. "Pervert!"

Thankfully, class ended earlier that day. Even with just the view of Minjeong and Jimin walking side by side despite not holding each other's hand was unusual. To remind you again, this never happens. Not just Aeri thinks it was weird. The others would too.

"Why I still can't adjust myself to this kind of situation even tho I already know about you guys?" Aeri sighed as she followed right behind the two.

"Did they see him today?" Jimin asked while having her dinner with Minjeong at the Kim's mansion. Minjeong shakes her head shortly, "No. They said he didn't even attend college these two days."

Jimin's brows turn into a furrow, watching her wife eating. "Is there any probability that he knew the police was watching him?"

"Maybe. They didn't tell me that much tho. That brat also didn't tell them anything," Minjeong continued before stabbing the meat on her plate.

Jimin's brows furrow again, "Brat? Who?"

"Park Jaeho. Who else?" Minjeong rolled her eyes in annoyance. Every time she heard Jaeho's name, she felt like she wanted to curse out loud, punching the air just to release her anger. Name name somehow lingers so much after Sungjoon's. A name that Minjeong wanted to erase from her mind.

"By the way, Jimin. The cops called me a few minutes ago, and I am not sure if I should tell you this or not—"

"Tell me, Minjeong," Jimin cuts her with a determined face. "I told you so many times that your business is also my business. You are my wife, Winter. Please..." she pleads with a light sigh. Minjeong stared at the older girl once before sighing in defeat.

"There's this one girl who used to be his fling two weeks ago. Her friends reported that she suddenly disappeared without a trace," Minjeong paused her words, staring into Jimin with a worried expression. "I don't want you to be the next, Jimin."

Knowing that Sungjoon wasn't a person to make jokes of, Jimin was told by Minjeong to stay by Ningning or Aeri's side all the time when Minjeong wasn't there for her. Even tho the cops were watching her from afar, that doesn't mean that her safety was always taken care of.

"Minjeong didn't follow us today?" Aeri asks in curiosity. Minjeong was persistent in following Jimin all along for three days straight, but suddenly she wasn't with Jimin today.

"She has classes to attend," Jimin answered shortly.

"Really? The Kim Minjeong attending class? Wow... that is surprising. How did you change her, tho? I am curious," Aeri blinked curiously at her friends but Jimin was fast enough to look away, blushing so hard. How could she tell Aeri that? That her ridiculous skinship rules were the ones that brought her and Minjeong to this peaceful situation.

Aeri and Jimin headed to the cafeteria to enjoy their lunch before another two figures approached them. One is Ningning, while the other one, is the not-invited Park Jaeho.

"Ningning, hi!" Aeri greeted happily towards Ningning before she quickly gave a glare to Jaeho.

"Hi, Aeri. It's been a long time," Ningning smiled towards the other girl warmly, taking her seat right next to the Japanese.

"But why are you together with this guy?" Aeri rolled her eyes, staring at how Jaeho smiling like a fool at Jimin. Jimin on the other side can only cover her face, slightly looking away in annoyance and awkwardness.

"Him?" Ningning asked cluelessly, pointing her finger awkwardly at Jaeho. "I don't know. He said he was your classmate."

"Well... that's true, but— we're not close at—"

"We were so close! Like glue!" Jaeho suddenly took his seat right next to Jimin without her permission, making the three girls look at him in disbelief. Instead of hearing all of his nonsense, the three totally ignored him.

"Park Jaeho..." this time it was Jimin who started the conversation. All excited, Jaeho look back at Jimin happily, "Yeah! Why?"

"Your friend another day, his name is Yoo Sungjoon, I think?" Jimin acts clueless. "Why isn't he with you today?" Jimin asked, looking sharply into Jaeho's eyes making the mid-tall guy flinched, startled.

"I-I... don't know where he is."

"I didn't ask you where he is," Jimin said while looking at Jaeho, full of questions inside her head. "I asked you why aren't you with him today? Isn't he the one you always stick like glue with?"

"I-I mean... he didn't come to college for a few days already. So, I really d-don't know where he goes," Jaeho replied with a few stutters, not convincing enough for Jimin. But still, Jimin kept looking at him in curiosity. Deep inside, she knows that Jaeho must know something about Sungjoon's sudden disappearance, hiding the fact from Jimin.

"I-I... I need to go..." Sungjoon suddenly stood up from his seat, started to walk away from the three girls and soon out of their sight. Jimin, Aeri and Ningning look at each other in confusion.

Aeri lifted her eyebrows, "Didn't he look a bit weird today?"

"He looks nervous tho," Ningning continued.

"Definitely," Jimin answered.

Jaeho ran as far as he could, hiding in a secluded area before he took out his phone to call someone. It didn't take long enough for the other person to pick up the phone call.

"Bro, where are you?"

"I'm somewhere in Incheon. Why?"

Jaeho stomped his feet lightly, massaging his temple, "I guess you were right."

"About what..."

"I think Jimin was the one who told the police about you. She asked me about you today."

"What? Repeat again? I couldn't hear you?"

"She asked about you! Gosh! She asked where are you cuz she didn't see you with me these few days!" Jaeho continued.

"Huh," Sungjoon's voice on the line seems unbothered at all. "If she met the police already, I guess she already knows my past then."

Jaeho's hold on his phone tightens. "You know what, bro? Just came back! You make it fucking obvious to the police if you disappeared like this. Just admit to them that you sexually harassed her! Just tell them about everything! Tell them about all the deals you've made—"

"You fool, son of bitch, piece of shit! Did you think I was that coward? I'm not running away because of that, you dickhead!! Do you think I was that coward to hide just because of that crappy slutty woman like her?? That Yu Jimin? Huh, are you serious? She reported me? Did you think I'm running because of that slut? I am not running because of mere police, you fucking shit!" Sungjoon cursed his lungs out through the phone.

Surprised at his words, Jaeho asked more, "Then why are you running away?"

"It's none of your business, moron!"

"Then, what will you do hyung?"

Sungjoon scoffed loudly on the phone before followed by a tiny laughter."Didn't you once say to me that there's this another slutty girl who has an interest in Jimin, aren't you?"

"Kim Minjeong?" Jaeho asked.

"Ahh, right. I almost forgot that fucking name again," Sungjoon smiled to himself, thinking about his evil plan inside his head over and over again. "If she was that interested in Jimin, maybe I could use her to stop all of this 'Yu Jimin' nonsense from the police."

Jaeho ended his words with an evil laugh.

"Kim Minjeong. She, will be, my hostage...." Sungjoon smirks.

*****

It's almost 6 pm. Minjeong's final class almost over. She texts Jimin the place where she parked her car, just to make things easier so that Jimin can head to the location right away without waiting for Minjeong in front of her class.

As soon as the class came to an end, Minjeong called her wife and it took only two seconds for the other girl to pick up her phone. The first thing Minjeong heard was Jimin's laughter followed by Aeri's voice. That's when Minjeong can finally sigh in relief.

Jimin is with Aeri, thank god.

"You received my text?" Minjeong asked with a small relieved smile.

"Hmm," Jimin hums happily. "I'm already here", Jimin replied, smiling by herself even tho Minjeong couldn't see it, playing with her feet, moving them shyly on the road.

"Is the police with you?" Minjeong asked as she walked faster and faster to their meeting location.

Jimin hums once more, "Both of them are here, 3 cars away from ours. They..." Jimin coughs. "They smoking," Jimin laughed slightly thru the phone. Minjeong who heard the bright laugh that escaped from Jimin couldn't help but smile in joy to her ears.

"Okay, I'm on my way. See you there," Minjeong answered back happily, walking even faster.

"Hmmm~"

They ended the phone call, and Minjeong finally ran instead of walking towards the location of her car which was almost 600 metres away from where she was right now. The hallway is usually quiet here with not much amount of people. That is why Minjeong likes to park her car here because there will always be an empty space available.

"Gosh, why is this college so big!" Minjeong groaned to herself as she was running, but her actions stopped, eyes wide open when she saw the unexpected.

Sungjoon was standing in front of her, with a big smug on his face. "Sure, the college is big," he scoffed. Minjeong swore to god, that her heart skipped a beat when she saw that Sungjoon was right in front of her eyes.

"Kim Minjeong, right?" he sneered, walking closer and closer.

"Y-You... Choi Sungjoon..." Minjeong was shocked. Why the hell is Sungjoon doing right here? Isn't he after Jimin all this time? So why did he was here meeting Minjeong like this?

"Ohh. I am surprised that you even know my name. You're sure close to Jimin, aren't you?" Sungjoon smirked before pulling out his hands from his hoodie pocket, revealing a small knife in his hand.

Minjeong shrieked inside her mind when he saw the knife. What a great place for Minjeogn to go through this here, all alone, with not even a single CCTV in this area! Wow!

But it started to mess up when he suddenly rushed forward towards Minjeong, and Minjeong knew she was just a second late to dodge that attack.

The knife is already going through her skin.

"I'm guessing that Jimin reported me to the police about that small romantic kissing matter, so I would like to play some games with her," Sungjoon replied with his evil smile, pushing the knife deeper into Minjeong's stomach as all Minjeong could do is grunting loudly in pain.

"Did you know? I murdered a girl a week ago. It will be normal if I run away and hide because of murder, not because of a mere sexual harassment case like Jimin's," his statement made Minjeong more shock than ever. What? Sungjoon? Murder?

"Y-You— You—"

"Should I murder you next, Minjeong? Should I make myself a serial killer? Oh, wait. I killed 2 girls already. So I already am! Well, that wasn't a hard thing to do."
