ooi. Like Miles, He Kills a Spider
EARTH
1610
IT WAS A DARK NIGHT IN THE WORLD▬1610. No sounds were made. It was if the world had held its breath. Everything was normal a week ago until the vicious villain Kingpin had pounded his fists into that world's Spider-Man. The whole world wept that day. They had lost their hero. But there was one person who felt guilty more than anyone, and his name is Miles Morales.
It is all his fault. If he hadn't been there that day to distract him, Peter Parker wouldn't be dead. He would still be alive protecting New York. Instead, he is gone and Miles is here▬ supposed to replace him. As much as he doesn't want to, he has to. There was a threat that needed to be stopped and he needs to do it. Miles went ahead and bought a suit. Well▬ it is a costume more than a suit, but at least it was something.
That night, a week after the hero had died and caused international news to go crazy, Miles had found his way to his grave. He begged for forgiveness and let the dead Spider-Man know that he was going to finish his job▬ to protect the world. He what he didn't count on was a man to touch him on the shoulder. Bolts of electricity surged through him and eventually shocked the man. Miles felt terrible and went to apologize to the man. It wasn't until he saw an older▬ more fatter▬ Peter Parker. The same one who had died earlier that week.
Anyway, one thing led to another, cops started to chase after Miles and a weird Peter Parker and he fainted. That's what led them here. Miles stood still by his door, listening closely to anyone that dared to enter. Meanwhile, the weird Peter Parker is tied tightly to Miles' Uncle's punching bag, his eyes shut closed. It wasn't until Miles heard the weird person murmur underneath his breath that he stood right in front of him. His arms were cross and his shoulders press down. And to be honest, he cannot deny that he raised his heels to appear a little taller.
"What was that?" The Parker grumbles. "Kid electrocuted me with his hands." He finally recalls. In the next moment, his blurry vision became clear and he sees that 'said kid' standing right in front of him. Questions started to pour into his mind until he felt it. His mind felt wavy, like he was going into his own world. It makes his eyes cross and this awful high pitch ringing started to sound off in his ears. "You're like me?" Parker scoffs.
Miles simply ignores the man, sticking out his chin. "I got some questions." His voice dips below.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
Miles quickly jumps back with his hands raised in the air. It had looked like that weird man was having a seizure. He keeps on rocking back and forth, trying to break the chains that held him so dearly. Miles realizes that this wasn't a threat when the weird Peter turned the punching bag towards the back with a sigh.
"Why do you look like Peter?" The boy pulls down his mask to show his worryingly confused face.
"Ughhhh." The weird man pushes himself around to face the other boy with the top of his tiptoes. As he began to grunts, his eyes bored into the other's. "Because I am Peter Parker." He answered in a tone that said 'I don't know who you are, but you're stupid.'.
"Then why aren't you dead?" Miles tilts his chin. "Why is your hair different? And why are you older?" As he began to flood him with questions, Miles inches forward to the spinning man. With the amount of string wrapped around his abdomen, it was becoming evidently so that he was uh▬ maybe a little different than Miles' Peter Parker. Fat. Chubby. You know what? You pick your own words. This is what Miles said: "why is your body a▬ a different shape?" Miles raises an eyebrow, completely unimpressed with who stood before him.
The weird Peter, who was now turned towards the back, drops his face, equally bored and unimpressed. "I'm pretty sure you called me fat." He says dryly.
Miles eyes widens at the accusation. "No! No. No. No. N▬"
Peter spun himself around. "Look listen, you don't look so hot either, kid. Superhero's don't usually wear their own merch."
As the punching bag with the man glued to it kept spinning around, Miles kept asking all the questions.
"Are you a ghost?"
"No."
"Are you a zombie?"
"Stop it."
"Am I a zombie?"
"You're not even close!"
"Are you from another dimension? Like parallel universe where things are like this universe but different?" Peter squints his eyes at Miles. "And▬ and your Spider-Man in that universe? But somehow trapped in this universe, but you don't know how?" Miles excitedly jumps in the air, cocking his head to the side to see a very (sorta) impressed Peter. Or weird Peter.
"That was really just a guess?" The weirdo raises an eyebrow.
Miles shrugs his shoulders. "Well▬ we learned about it in physics."
"Quantum theory." Peter confirms, mildly impressed.
Miles jumps up again at the new revelation information. "This is amazing!" He exclaims, pointing at the man dressed in the Spider-Man suit who is supposed to be another Peter Parker from another dimension. "You can teach me just like Peter said he would!"
"Before he died." Peter bluntly mutters. He was kind of over it. You can tell since it is written all over his bruised, bleeding face.
"Exactly!" Miles exclaims. The weirdo sarcastically agrees with him, which Miles quickly took noticed of. His whole face dropped at just remembering his world's Peter Parker, how he was the reason all of this was happening. "Look. I made a promise to him."
Peter laughs aloud as he turns around to face the little boy once more. "Fine." He smirks. "Here's lesson number one. Don't watch the mouth. Watch the hands!"
In the next moment, the bands that tugged on the Weird Peter suddenly fell to the floor. As Miles watches in shock, the punching bag was flung towards him. A loud gasp escapes his lips when he is thrown against the door with a loud thud and his body instantly dropped to the floor. With shock running through him, Miles gazed at the weird Peter who was brushing the invisible dirt off of his tan coat.
"Peter." Miles gasps. "Serious▬" He is quickly cut off by a web shutting off his mouth.
Hearing the boy's desperate cry for help, Peter hesitates. A sigh escaped his lips as he closed his eyes. "Trust me kid. This will all make you a better Spider-Man." Peter begins to leap off of the building as his wrist starts to do the iconic flip. Web exits wrist when suddenly, Peter begins to glitch. His body seems to go through different forms, different creatures. His mind feels like it was going to explode. Just when he thought it is never going to end, he begins to fall off of the fire escape and stop three levels below.
Miles runs over outside of the window and peered down after hearing the unusual sound. "Hey." His comforting voice sounds out. "You okay?"
Peter's muffled, annoyed and tired, voice is heard. "No I'm not." The Spider-Man rolls over to his back, his hand lying over his stomach as he begins to recover from the immense pain he felt.
"What's going on with your body?" Miles asks.
"My atoms are real jazzed about being in the wrong dimension." Peter irritatingly responds as he stands on his feet and grips onto the bar. "Look, I'm not looking for a side gig as a Spider-Man coach. I got a lot going on in my dimension. Like a lot." He dismissively waves off the other boy.
"With great power comes wi-" Miles begins in order to persuade the man, but he was quickly cut off by him.
"Don't you dare finish that sentence!" Peter sharply looks at the boy with a finger pointed straight at him. "Don't do it. I'm sick of it." Over with the conversation, Peter starts to leap off of the railing only to experience that same thrilling glitching that had happened not even a moment ago. This one was quicker than the first one. With a painful grunt, his fingers caught the ledge of another landing. "You want my advice?! Go back to being a regular kid." He exasperatingly mutters.
Miles leans over the railing. "I don't have a choice!" He exclaims. "Kingpin has a super collider. He's trying to kill me!"
What. Peter perks up at the sound of this. His feet found its way to the side of the wall and became stuck to it. He was now upside down, but he paid no attention to that. "What did you say?" Peter froze.
"Kingpin is trying to kill me!" Miles exclaims louder than before, desperately trying to get his point across.
"Who cares about that?!" The Spider-Man begins to walk up the wall to where Miles stood as if it was an everyday sort of thing. "Where's the collider?"
"Brooklyn?" The boy confusingly confirms. "Under fist tower."
Peter swiftly turns back around, waving behind him. "Goodbye!"
"Where are you going?"
"When it runs again, I'll jump in and get back to my life." Not even bothering to turn around, Peter quickly explains to Miles who rolled his eyes.
The Spider is moving down the wall quickly. So quickly, it caused Miles to make rush decisions. He flings himself over the railed, his feet finding its way to the wall. If Spider-Man can do it, so can Miles right? Well, he was proved wrong when he starts to slide down the wall instead of sticking to it like Peter Parker is doing so easily. "You can't let them run it! I'm suppose to destroy it so it never runs again or everyone is going to die!"
Peter groans aloud at the sound of it. "Or else everyone is going to die." He mocks. "That's what they always say. There is always a little time before everyone dies and that's why I do my best work!" At the end of the wall, the Spider flings himself off and did a perfect flip, landing on the car below him effortlessly.
"Aren't you going to need this?" Miles flashes a broken hard drive out of his pocket.
At the sight of this, Peter sighs in realization. "Oh! You have a goober. Give it."
Miles chuckles at the reaction he had gotten. A man so desperate to leave this universe now desperate for something Miles has. This was perfect. "Ah! Ah!" He scoots further up the wall, away from the Spider who is reaching out with his graby hands. "Not so fast. He called it an over-ride key." Miles corrects quickly and smugly.
"There's always bypass key, a virus key, a who cares key. I don't remember." Peter tubs the back of his neck, not even trying to remember at this point. "So I always call it a goober. Now give it!" Reaching up for the goober one more, Peter was growing impatient.
But, Miles was pretty adamant. "I need it to destroy the collider."
"I need it to go home!" Peter exclaimed. Without a second thought, the boy shoves the goober into his mouth. It begins to crumble and probably start to break, so he tried to keep his mouth open as possible. However, as he began to speak, Peter couldn't understand him. "What?" The weird man questions loudly. He shoots a web and plants it on the goober, whipping it out of his mouth.
"Hey!" Miles yells aloud with shock.
"The collider created a portal that brought me." Holding the goober in his hands, Peter jumps off of the car and onto the other building's wall. His two feet sticks to it and began to walk up nonchalantly. "And I have to get▬" What the heck? After studying the device for just a couple seconds, he notices that it was frail and broken already. The writings on it were fading and smudged. It did not look a goober or key let or virus key or whatever you would like to call it anymore.
"No. It broke." As Miles begins to walk, a whole better after practicing for the past minute, up the wall, he was able to stand up straight before he starts to fall. A yelp escapes his lips as he grips the wall once more. "I honestly don't remember." He excuses.
Peter lets a quick and frustrated yell out. "This is why I don't want kids. This is why I don't want kids." He repeatedly mutters to himself.
"Can't we make another one?" Miles asks loudly.
"No!" Peter throws the broken goober down to the ground to which Miles grabs it but it quickly escaped his hands. "We can't do anything. Thanks to you I have to re▬steal what your guy stole from Alchemax and make another one of these."
He pauses. Miles keeps talking about how the fate of the world was at risk, how everyone is going to die. You know▬ the same old routine. But▬ Peter ignores it. His brain felt like it was warping, like there is another one of him behind him. It is the same feeling he had gotten when looking at Miles. But▬ this was way more intense. Miles was more of your like me, but not the exact same. This feeling is experiencing a whole Peter Parker that was the same as him. It is an out of the world experience.
"What? What are you doing?" Miles asks, his head titling to the side as he studies the man.
"I▬" The Spider▬Man starts to say as he slowly turns around to look at Miles.
No. It isn't him. Behind him. Yes. A another person stands tall on the side of the building. Her ankles are crossed as she stood, her eyes studying the goober in her hands. Her suit glimmers in the night. The dark pink webs intertwines with the black suit, and the limbs camouflaged with the background. It looks like a Spider▬Man suit. But her mask, it was something else. She wore nothing over her mouth and forehead , instead she wore a black, velvet goggle, mask over her eyes, allowing her brown hair to fly freely in the air.
"Um▬ who are you?" Peter asks as he points at the girl.
At the sound of this Miles laughs aloud. "I'm uh▬ Spider-Man." His voice dips down to a lower note octave.
"Not you, you idiot." Peter groans, slapping his hand onto his forehead. "Her." In the next moment, the weird man points behind the young boy and towards the mysterious figure. Miles turns around to find the girl. With a yelp, he steps back and drew up his fists, even if it was a horrible formation.
Silence fell in between all three of them as they stared at the woman. She just simply gazes at the goober in her hands, fiddling around with it. Yes, it began to crumble, but it was still was in tact with each other. In the next moment, the woman's eyes darts up at the two males as if she is finally understanding that they were there. Her eyes squints at the pair, raising her chin.
"Listen, kid," Peter starts to tread down the wall, nearing both Miles and the other. "Just give me the goober."
His hand reaches out for it, but the girl whips it back tauntingly. "What is it for?" She sounds out for the first time. Her voice soft, yet course and stern so that it is known she is getting her point across. Miles' eyes widen at the sound of her voice.
"None of business." Peter groans. "Now you have two options. Give it to me or tell me who you are."
"Nah uh!" The woman denies. "Tell me who you are then I'll tell you who I am and then I'll give you this thing."
The weird man places his fist on his hip while the other soothed his forehead. "Great bugs. That's not how this is going to play out. Now tell me who you are and you'll walk away peacefully."
The woman's jaw drops, her eyes widen at the sight of the weird man. Realization hits her like a train. This is him? "Peter Parker?" She asks aloud. The so called Peter froze at the sound of his name, his eyes looking earnestly. "But you.... You're so...?"
"Fat?" Peter rolls his eyes as he glances over to the other young, pre? I don't know. Spider-Man. "So I've been told."
"I uh-" the strange woman gazes around her surroundings, her fingers tightening around her hairs as she began to pull. "Wow! I always knew the multiverse was real. But man... this? This is insane! Because like▬ this means the Quantum Realm is for real. Like for real, for real!"
Miles and Peter both cocks their heads to the side at the same time. They both study the girl in utter confusion until Peter speaks up. "Yeah, yeah, but uh- she from your universe?" The elder man turns over to the fifteen year old as his finger points at the girl.
"Nah▬" The girl speaks up. "I came here a▬ a couple days ago. It was so weird ya know? I was just hanging out in my apartment, eating by myself because you know▬ depression is my friend▬ and then this weird noise came from the other side of my wall. And like a normal person I went to go investigate it then the whole wall▬ and I mean the whole flipping wall▬ just collapsed and sucked me in! Ya know?"
"Okay. Obviously, this is going to become a whole thing." Peter Parker motions his hands around his area. "So, I'm going to go steal the goober. Bye bye!" He waves his hands to both spiders before prancing his way up the wall once more without a care in the world.
"Hold on!" Miles yells out. "What about me?"
"What's a goober?" The woman tilts her head in confusion.
At the sound of this question, the boy turns around, facing towards her. "A hard drive basically."
"Oh. You mean a Kicker." The woman nods up and down.
The Spider-Man swiftly treading away suddenly stops. Did he hear what he heard? As if it wasn't right, he slowly turn around with a quizzical look on his face: eyebrows furrowed, lips pressed in a thin line, ears perked up. "Excuse me?" He offensively quizzes the girl. "What came out of your mouth?"
"This thing▬" The woman raised the goober. Kicker. Hard drive. Whatever you want to call it. "Why, it's called a kicker!"
How could he be so oblivious? Of course, out of all the people he would accidentally run into in the multiverse, it would be her. Of all people. Now, more than ever, he felt like an idiot. All the signs were there. Her voice was high pitched, her mannerisms (the way she flicked her hair back, squinted her eyes, Ect.), and her choice of words. It was like as if someone clicked legos bricks together and it made a complete house. You know? Weird example, I know. But, Peter's mind was a fuzz. Maybe, just maybe, it was traveling across the multiverse. Maybe it was the glitching.
Speaking of glitching. Power draws from Peter's veins, and as it coursed, as his body glitched through different colors and forms, he begins to fall down. His feet unsticks from the side of the building as the pain intensified. Seeing this immediately, the woman watches as the man fell past her. His body was about to hit the ground if not for the quick movement of her wrist. Suddenly, Peter's body jerked. Intricate, silky web is gripped to his back, holding him up high.
Opening one eye after the other in fear, Peter is surprised to find that his body isn't smashed to smithereens. But, he felt something sticky on his back. Slowly, his head twisted to find the woman stuck in her spider pose (left leg bent to the side and her left one stuck straight out to the side while her left hand was stuck to the side of the wall) and her right arm raised in front of her, webs blasting out of her wrists. The two share a fearful look from each-other as the woman gently lowers Peter to the ground. His stomach comes in contact with the cool, hard cement and he lays there for a couple seconds. His chest heaving heavy breaths. And that's all the hero did. Was lay there, rethinking his whole life and anyone who crossed it.
As footsteps neared his ear, he only knew who was standing there. "You're Lana Baumgartne Aren't you?" Disappointment and tiredness plagues his voice.
"Yeah." A voice barely above a whisper drenched with somberness and sorrow is heard. "Yeah I am, Peter Parker."
"This is great."
Peter raises his head to find the boy he was growing quite tired of standing next to Lana Baumgartne. "It's really sweet. The reunion thing that is. But uh▬ let's get back to the whole world▬ if not the whole freaking multiverse▬ is at stake. So why don't you let me... help you...sneak into alchemex so we can get the goober. Yeah?"
"I'm not bringing you." Peter drops his face onto the cement with a groan.
Lara gazes around the two with furrowed eyebrows. "I'll bring you, kid." She smirks down at the man groaning even louder than before.
Miles perks up at his new nickname, his lips turned up in disgust. "I'm not a kid. I'm fifteen years old." He places his hands on his hips, perking up both his chin and chest.
"You are a minor. A kid." Lara confirms sassily. "So, come on kid."
As she begins to run, leaving behind the two men, she heard Miles' voice sound again. "Um... and how old are you?" Lara quickly turns around at the question, one eyebrow raised as her lips turns upwards. "Cause, you know, I need to know I will be safe." While he gives off his speech, both Lara and Peter noticed that he puffed up his chest and his voice lowered a couple octaves (even if it sounded horribly forced).
"I'm sixteen." Lara answers no matter how hard she wanted to laugh at the unexpected voice drop of the boy.
"So▬ you are a minor too?" Miles threw up his hand.
"Yes?" Lara frowns.
"So▬ you are a kid as well."
"A mature, adult, teenager."
"But we are practically the same age."
"But I'm older."
"By a year!"
Lara exasperatedly sighs aloud with a roll of her eyes. "You coming or not, kid."
Miles weighs his options here. Stay with the old man groaning on the floor who looks like he was not fit to do this job. Or a young girl who clearly knew what she was doing, and gosh, not mention he wanted to go with the more beautiful option. "I'll come!" Miles squints his eyes towards the man.
Though Peter's face was planted on the ground, he mutters painful: "You are going to die."
Lara turns around as she began to walk backwards, her dark eyes fluttering as her rosie cheeks brighten. "Then we will die trying to do something right." Her eyes scan to the right of her to find Miles' lips turn upward, showcasing all of his teeth. "Spider-Man." She spats with venom lacing her voice.
They both begin to run towards wherever they were going. Well▬ according to Miles, it was to Alchemex. When Lara was listening to their earlier conversation▬ when the two Spider-Men had no idea that they had a guest▬ she overheard all about Alchemex and what happened to the original Spider-Man of this earth. And if she were to be honest, after hearing how the Peter Parker died, it only made Lara want to infiltrate Alchemex even more. At this point, she is pretty sure that Alchemex was the same thing as Oscorp, which is what she had in her world. So if anything, she should be quite familiar with this scientific building and should not▬ as the fat Peter would put it▬ die.
Speaking of the fat Peter, his voice is heard through Lara and Miles' footsteps clattering hard against the cement ground littered with all sorts of trash left rudely by other civilians. Lara couldn't help but stop. She imagined his voice▬ pleading▬the same as her Peter. Something inside of her tugs, squeezes. Like it was pulling her towards him no matter how hard she didn't want to see his familiar doe orbs, darker than her Peter's. The wrinkles littering across his forehead, the dimples poking out whenever he smiled (like this Peter Parker ever smiled). But▬ she knew when she would get back to her home world, she would forever regret if she didn't turn around.
"Yes, Peter?" Lara lowly askes for him to speak his sentence again. Her eyebrows furrows into her eyes as they glance down to the body glued tirelessly to the floor.
"You are going to die." Peter mutters, lifting his head off of the cement. The rocks intricately placed around the floor has managed to make a red pattern across his cheeks and forehead and his doe eyes were having trouble keeping open.
"You already said that." Lara shook her head.
The older Spider-Man gathers all the strength he could muster and pushes himself onto his knees, then to his feet. His face then warp warps into one of confusion and discomfort: his eyebrows furrows into his closed eyes, his cheeks scrunched up and his lips raises high. The two children watches him as he places his hands on his lower stern and as his back arched far. Cracks are heard echoing throughout the little alleyway. Little, tiny cracks. Miles and Lara's straight face morphed into frowns of disgust at the sight and the sound of whatever Peter was doing.
"Oh my god. I feel so much better." Peter groans. "Anyway▬ like I was saying▬ you are going to die▬"
Miles interrupts. "So much for being optimistic."
"▬and I need to be there to make sure you don't." The man inches closer to the pair. He stuffs his hands inside the pocket of his beige coat as he rocked back and forth on his heels. There is a small pink tint painted across his course cheeks, still had imprinted from rocks on the concrete.
Miles eyes brightens up. His cheeks started to rise and his pearly teeth shone. He goes to jump up and down towards the man and grasps him into a quick hug. But▬ after noticing the clear discomfort and hearing Peter clearing his throat quite loud▬ Miles notices his mistake right away. The younger boy takes a quick step back, coughing lowly to himself "Sorry, man." His voice lower an octave as he sheepishly gazes to the 'victim'.
Peter nods his head quickly. "Never do that again." He warns with a click of his tongue. In the next moment, he starts to tread over towards the way Lara and Miles were originally going. His head was held high, his eyes never leaving the stars planted in the sky.
Lara and Miles shares a look of confusion with each other before following the Spider-Man from another dimension towards Alchemex.
REA !
Here we are off to great start! Again, I tried to be as mysterious as possible as week as trying to tell yall everything yall need to know! And p.s. this is at a whopping 4698 words!
I adore Lana and Miles' relationship sooooo much. If anyone touches them, I will kill you.
All points aside....... Here is a little sneak peak into the next chapter!
SNEAK PEAK !
Electro finally has realization set in as a loud clattering noise fills their ears. He sharply looks to the side, meanwhile instinctively letting go of Arachne's neck, to see the antenna towers hurling towards him. He brings his hands up to shield his face as the hero scurries away. The loud thud of the metal contraction hitting against his flesh sounds in the world. It knocks him completely unconscious. At this point, Lana has never seen her villain of the week so peaceful. As she kneels at his place, she brushes her hands across his blue, powerful, and chaotic skin. There has never been a skin so soft yet so urethral before. She is so captivated by the feeling of it, she doesn't hear the sound of a gun cocking and pointing towards her head.
"Hold still, Spider▬Man." the manly voice echoes powerfully.
Lana can not help but roll her eyes at this action. Her hand quickly cocks back, grips the gun with all her strength, and flings the weapon across the building roof. "For the last time Captain," She mutters distastefully. "I am Arachne. And, for better measure, I am a woman."
The police officer stumbles back with wide eyes. His hands lift to the air in surrender, though he keeps his superior demeanor. "Do not run this time, you thief."
Lana crouches her back and sticks out her neck whilst gazing at the fallen villain behind her. "Are you not seeing what I am seeing? I am doing the complete opposite of stealing. I am saving!"
"That's not what happened a month ago." The Captain glares daringly at the world's savoir, or through his eyes, the world's doom.
"Are you joking with me?" The masked Lana puzzles. "The problem with you police officers is you never really listen or look. And that is why I am here."
She turns her back to leap off the building, but the police officer's voice stops her before she can do so. "I am still going to arrest. In this life or the next."
"Hell it is, Captain." Lana playfully salutes the man and then drops off the building.
