Chapter 18:
>In the Squid Dimension<
No one had expected this to happen. But even with it, the Minecrafters fought with hope, knowing they could win if they tried hard enough.
The squids had somehow gotten every overworld mob in Minecraft to be on their side. Hostile and non-hostile. They'd even mutated some to be even more dangerous. And even if they weren't prepared for this, the Minecrafters still battled them without hesitation. It was time that they rise against the enemies.
What felt like many hours later, more than half of each side was down. Blood coated the ground, and bodies were scattered everywhere. But no one retreated; not even a thought of giving up crossed anyone's mind. They were only focused on winning.
Leaders had fallen on both sides as well, most being killed, some just taken prisoner. Healers had their hands full with people getting wounded or close to death, left and right every second. Some soldiers had even stopped fighting to help with the wounded. At this point, it was anyone's game.
The Sky Army was still doing well, that was safe to say. This was mainly their battle, so they fought with everything they had. They did not only fight for themselves, but also for their friends and allies who had fallen to the squids because of this war. Deadlox and the Dead Army, MinecraftUniverse and the Stars, and everyone else. They hoped that those people would forgive them for fighting them, even if they were squids now. Maybe someday they could bring them back. But for now, they were with the enemies, so they had to fight them.
The Squid King wasn't giving up anytime soon, either. He hadn't lost many, and he didn't care if he did anyway. All he wanted to do was win, and finally capture Sky and his army. He was so proud of himself. He had almost every mob on his side, fighting for him. He'd even created mutations of those mobs. With this powerful army, there was no way he would lose.
So the battle went on, each side growing smaller and smaller by the minute. Night fell, but no one stopped. No one would stop until there was a clear victor. That's how this would go.
---
Deviant found herself in the middle of nowhere. She knew she was in Minecraft, but that was about it. There were no mobs around despite the fact that it was night. She looked around and saw nothing but snow and trees going on forever.
Deviant walked through the forest, searching for anything. Movement. A sound. Something that would tell her that she wasn't alone. But there was nothing after walking for almost an hour, until she saw something glowing about a mile away through the snow. Getting closer, she began to make out a rectangular shape. A portal?
It definitely was a portal. Not just any portal, it was a portal to the Squid Dimension. She knew that's where everyone was at this point, according to Intern, and they were having some huge battle with the squids. Before entering, she thought to herself, should she actually go? She'd seen how brutal these battles could be. But what if she could help somehow?
She thought for a moment, then finally made up her mind to go in. Deviant stepped into the portal, and was brought to the Squid Dimension. She was, again, in the middle of nowhere, but she could see and hear the battle going on near the Squid King's castle up ahead. As she made her way to the castle, she heard the screams and cries of people in the castle dungeon. She thought maybe she could free everyone inside. There probably weren't many squids guarding the prisoners. It would be easy.
Deviant navigated the maze of a dungeon, avoiding the few squids that passed by. There was one squid in particular that caught her eye. Three years ago before everyone was trapped in Minecraft, she watched his videos every day. He was the very reason she began to play Minecraft. And she couldn't help thinking that even with him being a squid, she was totally in love with him.
