Hello. What should I call you? Do you prefer a nickname?

Well, my given name is Quintus, but most call me Quin. Since you're cute, you may call me Quin as well. *Quin flashes you a sly smile, baring his fangs.*

Oh my, nice to meet you Quin. And thanks for agreeing to talk to us today.

You're more than welcome. It's not often that I grant interviews to mortals. But since one of my dear pets requested it, I will oblige.

I appreciate that. Before we get started can I get you something to drink? Water? Soda? Coffee? Wine? Whiskey?

O Negative if you have some in the icebox. If not, it's quite alright. I had a snack before coming.

I'll get the team to check. While we wait, tell me a little about yourself.

What is it you'd like to know, dear? I'm over 2000 years old. I could tell you enough to last a lifetime. But, I suppose you want the basics, no? Very well. I was born the only child of Roman officer in what would be considered now, the ancient Roman army. My father was a strict and cold man, who taught me to wield a sword as soon as I was tall enough to properly hold one. My mother, on the other hand, was kind and warm. I was fourteen when my father died in battle, and I took over running the household. But, that's not what you really want to know. What you're interested in, is the day I took my final breath as a human, and took my first as a vampire. That event took place around my 30th human year.

Wow, that's so interesting. Where do you live?

I currently live outside the American city, Chicago, in the state of Illinois. I share a modest mansion with my progeny, Sebastian.

Do you have any jobs or hobbies?

I have many dealings, it's how I have built my wealth over the centuries. My hobbies, well, most can't be discussed amongst your audience. *Quin winks and smirks.*

*D.L. Croissette blushes* What are some of your likes and dislikes?

The greatest of my dislikes are hunters. Those vile, pieces of filth, should fear me as they've never feared anyone or anything before. As for my likes, I enjoy art and things of beauty. It's a pleasure to travel, when my duties allow it. And I enjoy spending time with those I'm closest to.

What is your greatest fear?

My greatest fear has already come to pass, when my mate, Livia, was tortured and murdered before my very eyes by a group of hunters. Being rendered helpless to save her, was my greatest nightmare come true.

That's horrible, I'm sorry for your loss. If you could change one thing about your life, what would it be?

I wouldn't change much about my life, as it has all seemed to serve a greater purpose.

Are you happy we know your story?

Anything to bring more awareness of the evils perpetrated by those bloody hunters against our kind, is a good thing, and does please me.

Have you ever served in the military?

I was a general in the ancient Roman army for nearly 10 years. From the age of 20, until I was turned by my sire.

How would anyone who knew you back then, describe you?

General Quintus was ruthless, ambitious, and commanding. At times, heartless and unfeeling. When I was made vampire, those traits only exemplified with my new found power. It wasn't until I met Livia that I found the kindness and love my mother had taught me as a child, once more.

You've mentioned Livia and how you lost her, have you found love since?

Vampires find it hard to find romantic love with anyone who isn't their fated mate. We are only granted one in our lifetime. When I lost Livia, I thought I'd never find love again. To my surprise, Selene has seen fit to grant me a second chance at love, and I have met the loveliest of angels, who I am proud to call my new mate. Although, who that is, I will let you discover when you read Faded Dreams. No spoilers from me. *Quin chuckles and pretends to zip his lips.*

Happy to hear it! Can you tell us a little about your relationship with Sebastian (Bash)?

Certainly. Sebastian and I share a unique relationship. I'm not his maker. Sebastian was abandoned by his maker as a fledgling. But, I adopted him, as sorts. I've taught him how to survive, and through the years, the natural bond between maker and progeny has formed. We're family. Brothers. And oftentimes, he complains I treat him like a father does a child. But really, a vampire's progeny is their child. The closest we'll ever get to reproducing, is when we sire another vampire. It's a great honor and responsibility.

Glad you found each other. What drives you, Quin? What makes you tick?

Quite honestly, I live to protect those dear to me. Bash, Gaia, Mads, Elena, my vampire brothers and sisters. I would die for them, and kill whoever, and whatever, to keep them safe. Nothing is more important than my family.

Speaking of family, is there anything you want to say to your fans?

I'd like to thank all my pets for their love and loyalty. Your allegiance is not without notice. *Quin stands and bows deeply before retaking his seat.*

Can we look forward to reading more of your story?

You will, eventually. Our goddess, Clarity, has plans to scribe more of my story in a sequel of sorts, called, Faded Memories. As Faded Dreams focuses mainly on my progeny, Bash.
