Interview with @Monkee66
Note:I do not necessarily know the real answers to the real-life Monkee questions. Do not take this too seriously.
Real Life Monkees
Real Life Micky
Monkee66:We all know that you like science, and we also know that your character, for lack of better term on the show is into science as well. Was that something you kind of put in there on a whim or did Bob and Bert see that you liked science and added that to give your character more depth?
Micky:Actually, I think it was just an accident. I played the 'wacky one', so I suppose it was my job to do the science experiments to save the day.
Monkee66:You grew up in California and you have travelled the world. Is there one place you haven't been that you'd like to go see? How about a state in the USA that you haven't been to? Why that country? Why that state?
Micky:There isn't a particular place or state that I do want to go to; I've pretty much seen them all whist touring. I've been to every state already. I think my travelling days are kinda over. I'll only do travelling for holiday or touring.
Monkee66:When you have down time, what do you do?
Micky:I like photography. It helps me relax and is fun to do. The other fellas quite like it too, but not as much as me.
Real Life Mike
Monkee66:That was a very heartfelt speech you gave in 'The Devil and Peter Tork' and I could tell you meant it. Do you think you broke out of the character of 'Mike The Monkee' for a few seconds whilst you were giving it?
Mike:In a way, yes, but in a way, no. 'Mike The Monkee' and I are quite alike, so it's not completely out of character for him. But I do think it's one of the rare moments in the TV show where the comedy just stops, and it's more of a teary, serious moment. I meant every word of that speech though.
Monkee66:You have a dog called Spotte at home, right? Where did you get him from?
Mike:Yes, I do have a dog called Spotte. I got him from a friend of mine, like Micky with his German Shepard called 'You'.
Monkee66:What was your first guitar? What was the first song you played on it?
Mike:I got my first guitar as a present when I was about 19. I didn't have anyone to teach me and I got fed up of just plunking at it, so I made my own songs and played those.
Real Life Peter
Monkee66:What is the nicest thing a fan has sent you? The freakiest thing?
Peter:Most of my fan mail is very kind and it's lovely to know I make people happy. They're all equally special to me. The freakiest thing is when people 'send' [by which I mean throw] things at me on stage. One person actually launched herself at me on stage.
Monkee66:The Beatles have it in their contract that they would not play a segregated crowd. Would you?
Peter:I certainly wouldn't play to a segregated crowd, and nor would the other Monkees. We are all equal and I see no need for people to be separated just to listen to music. Music is free, and for everyone.
Monkee66:You're from Connecticut, but moved to New York when you were in you mid-teens, then moved to California. Would you say you're a wanderer?
Peter:No, no particularly. I love travelling, and I've travelled a lot, but not so that I can't settle down and I'm always on the move.
Monkee66:You can play quite a few instruments and have dabbled in song writing. Your song 'For Pete's Sake' is on the closing credits for The Monkees on the second season. How do you feel about that? Did you have help writing it?
Peter:I co-wrote it with Joey Richards, which was a lot of fun. I was pleased that the producers thought it worthy to be on the second season credits, as I didn't think the song was that good. Most Monkee written songs that people like are by Mike, so I was surprised they liked one of my songs.
Monkee66:How long ago did you become a vegetarian? What is your favourite vegetarian dish?
Peter:Davy actually influenced me to become a vegetarian, as he was. I was probably in 1966 when I became one. I don't really have a particular favourite meal. When I'm hungry, I eat whatever is around.
Monkee66:The running gag on the TV show is your cream of root beer soup turning Micky into a werewolf. My question is can you cook?
Peter:I can cook in real life, but I'm not very good or anything. Davy and Micky are better.
Monkee66:Thank you guys so much! I love you! *has a group hug with Mike, Micky and Peter*
Me:Thanks for the requests! Please send more, readers!
