DIRECTOR: LIGHTS, CAMERA ACTION!
Assalam o Alaikum and hello friends and fans!!
I'm your host and dost Kounj Muzafar. Today we have another honorable and lovely Author and winner of a Freedom Award lovelessimperfection.
Thank you so much for agreeing to this interview. So I will start now...
Tell us a little something special about yourself and your background?
Special? Well, I guess one would be that I took Art GCSE. I'm from England so a GCSE is a big exam we do at the end of year eleven. I think that's the equivalent to sophomore year? For some extra information, I also took Classical Civ, German and Computer Science. I'm also from Nigerian heritage but I wasn't born in the Republic of Ireland.
What's your age, your date of birth and zodiac sign?
I was born on the 11th of December 2002 so I'm 14 (longing to be 15 though) and I'm a Sagittarius.
Which genre did your winner book belong to? What draws you to this genre?
ChickLit.
What do people hate the most about you?
I think it's the fact that I'm an emotional person and I'm not talking about being upset. It's the fact that I cry when I'm frustrated, angry AND upset. I can't help it. People always seem to think that I cry over every single tiny detail which isn't the case in all honesty. Do you want to dig deep into the depths of my brain and reprogram me? No? Yeah I thought so.
What's the most strangest thing you have done?
Licked a beetle. Please don't ask.
Do you ever get writer's Block? Give one tip on how to get through the dreaded writer's block?
My writers block usually happens when I have too many ideas to focus on and I just get stuck. So I write them down and, whichever one sounds best on paper, I focus on.
How do you react to negative comments?
I'm lucky that I don't get them but I can never tell if I will or not. So I cannot really speak from experience. All I can say is ignore them the best you can.
Which person would you like to meet from WP and why? Tag them.
acetylcholinee and XAverySummersX because they're both so kind it so unreal.
Who are your favorite authors?
J.K Rowling hands down.
What do your family say about your writing?
My mum encourages it and literally jumps up and down when I win something. She's mega supportive and I'm extremely thankful for it. My brother wants Wattpad but he's 10 and I'm not letting Wattpad ruin his mind that early.
Favourite Quote –
"Some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greagnrss thrust upon them." William Shakespeare, Tweltfh Night. I don't know why, it just sticks with me.
Places you want to visit –
Milan, Abu Dhabi, Hawaii, Australia, New York, Spain, Germany, Versailles.
Are you a good liar? Tell a lie.
Depends on the situation really, likes if I forgot my English folder then I'm an excellent liar. And a lie? Hmm: I enjoy having a sibling.
What's one thing people love the most about you?
The fact that I'm kind and easy-going. I'm not going to deny that I have resting bitch face but once we look past that I've been told that I'm easy to talk to and I don't judge so there you go.
What makes you really mad? Name one pet peeve.
Fake friends. Enough said, right?
What do you think about IEscapist?
I haven't really read any of your works yet and I wish to but my 'Pending' reading list is like 150 books worth of books I went to read. But you also seem really kind so we can talk anytime. That I'm not sleeping which is like one hour of the day.
Any insane wish? Name one.
Wake up and lose weight. Literally that is what I want. Or maybe it would be to be able to fly around the world but I'm 14 with barely anything in my bank account (because I spend it all on food) and I have school five days a week.
Are you living the life you really want to live?
Well, I want to go to university for either Art and Design, Computer Science or Graphic Design and have a good education for as long as possible before deciding where I'm going to go with my life. So right now, I guess I'm getting there.
Relationship status?
I'm single as hell. Wattpad has set my relationship standards so high that they might as well be in heaven. And all the boys my age where's I'm from are ABSOLUTE TRASH. I cannot even begin to emphasise it.
Best thing about being YOU?
Is there even anything special about me? Well, I guess it would be that I wake up hopeful for everyday. Even if I'm in the crappiest of moods. And usually, my days are very fun-filled.
Is being a writer a gift or a curse?
Both. I think it's a gift because I finding it so easy to visualise what I want to write and, apart from a few occasions, I almost always know what I want to write about. And I guess it also helps in English creative writing. It's also a curse because, on the days where I want to sleep early, the ideas I failed to have during the day bombard me at night which is mega annoying.
You only get 3 words to describe yourself – what are they?
Sarcastic, loud, impatient.
Do you work to an outline or plot or do you prefer just see where an idea takes you?
I like to see where ideas take me mainly because I can never stick to a plan. I tried for three chapters of Chasing You and School of the Indifferent but it just didn't work.
What do you think about The Freedom Awards? Would you like to suggest something to better it next time?
I think that awards like these are great platforms to gain confidence and have your work be more appreciated. The only thing that I would complain about would be the waiting time but that's just because I'm so freaking impatient.
How do you feel about winning a Freedom Award?
I was literally shook. Like how? I literally checked the update twice to see if it was real and oh boy it was.
Any Message for the people of Wattpad?
Do you. If you want to write, then write. Don't let reads or votes compel you to write because if you are passionate about what you write, readers can tell and they'll love it. Do not be afraid to hit publish on your first ever book. Trust me, I wasn't so close to not publishing my first book but good friends told me that the first chapter was good and I should do it. Also, KEEP CALM WITH THE UPDATE MESSAGES YOU GUYS. It can really stress out a writer especially one with a lot on their plate. But to be honest, just have fun. The Wattpad community seems to be a fun, completely unserious one and, the more fun you have, the more you enjoy it. At least that's what I've found.
Here we will end this interview. Thank you so much again for joining us today andI hope you had as much as we did.
