CE_Parker

*Comes out on the stage in my black dress*

Assalam o Alaikuma and hello friends and fans!!

I'm your host and dost Kounj Muzafar. And today I'm very lucky to be interviewing our author and winner CE_Parker of a Freedom Award for her book Destination 1974.

Thank you so much C.E. Parker (Mostly people online call her Pebbs, so you can just call her that) for agreeing to this interview, we feel so good to have you here. Let's start with the usual question.

Tell us a little something special yourself and your background?I was born and raised in Canada, eh. I live in southern Ontario, real close to Niagara Falls :D My great granddad on my dad's side and my Nanna on my mother's side were both born in London, England, and moved to Canada when they were quite small. My background expands a lot more than that, but it would take a while to get into it - no need to put ya'll through an unnecessary history class about me, lol. I'm as pale-skinned as they come, and it's super sensitive to everything, especially the sun. BUT, that doesn't stop me from walking into walls, getting bruises and scars on countless occasions because I'm a moron, and having the shittiest looking hands anyone has ever seen (I'm an artist, though, so luckily that's all that's ever expected from me.) My hair is a sandy blonde, and I've got grey-ish blue eyes (not icy, but like a soft darker hue of bleu) Also, I wear big glasses and have braces because I'm a NERD.

What's your age, your date of birth and zodiac sign? *

I'm 20 years old (02 at heart, haha). I was born on Wednesday August 6th, 1997 - so that makes me a Leo :)

Which genre did your winner book belong to? What draws you to this genre? *

My book got first place in the Mystery/Thriller genre-category. I always felt that a story had to have some sort of mystery aspect to it to be intriguing for me to actually like it and not close the book out of pure boredom. I also love the raw emotion in Thrillers since they can really delve into the psyche of a character. It feels real, and that is probably what draws me in the most is that realism :) (Also, I like solving puzzles and I always aim to figure out mysteries in movies before everyone else, and proceed to annoy the shit outta everyone for calling it in the first ten minutes.)

What do people hate the most about you?

I've been told that I'm pretty intimidating because of my honesty towards others, and most people would rather be told what they want to hear rather than the cold-hard truth. (Well that, and also the fact that I don't know when to shut the fuck up about fandoms I'm a part of, haha. Lord, I was born a rambling man...er, I guess I mean woman...? ((haha... It's time to S T O P)))

What's the most strangest thing you have done?

The strangest thing I've probably done was whenever I acted like a normal human being and not like a woman-child. Weird stuff. It's not like me at all to hold a normal conversation and not have a slight panic attack at least once.

Do you ever get writer's Block? Give one tip on how to get through the dreaded writer's block?

Oh god, yes I've gotten writer's block many times, especially while writing "Destination 1974". The way I've always gotten through it was taking a step back from my work. Maybe I'd grab something to eat (because everyone knows I've been putting it off all day, haha) or I might watch movies to get the inspiration back, or maybe read some short stories online. If I'm in a writing mood, but have no ideas, I'll just step away from my current novel that I'm stuck on, and just do random writing prompts or even fanfiction requests from my followers just to write anything, ya know? Eventually, I might have an idea just pop into my head, and then get back to writing my novel.

How do you react to negative comments?

Well, if someone just says something like: "ur stupid!" I just kinda laugh it off. If it's constructive criticism, though, I thank them, and consider their suggestions to improve my writing. I might not even consider their criticism, though, if they're being rude because there needs to be a mutual respect when taking and giving constructive criticism. Basically, don't be a jerk if you're trying to tell me I spelled a word wrong, or something. You can say negative things in a nice way. I do not tolerate rudeness.

Which person would you like to meet from WP and why? Tag them.

MistressCara because they are super helpful with suggestions to improve my writing, and their comments always brighten my day! They also just seem like a really chill person that I can geek over writing with.

(OMG yes, MistressCara is amazing and she helped me a lot with my book too, she is LAVE)

Who are your favorite authors?

Stephen King, C.S. Lewis, and Lemony Snicket (AKA, Daniel Handler) (Again, first three that came to mind that I enjoy immensely.)

What do your family say about your writing?

My one older sister actually told me to post my book on Wattpad to get it noticed! All four of my sisters, and my parents, and pretty much everyone in my family that knows that I write are super supportive and proud of me. (They also like my writing which is a double bonus.) I couldn't have asked for anything better, really.

Favourite Quote –

"Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else." ~Margaret Mead

Places you want to visit –

England, New Zealand, France, Germany...ugh, pretty much everywhere I can get before I die. I even want to go to other places in Canada that I've never been to like B.C. and such.

Are you a good liar? Tell a lie.

Why would I tell a lie to prove how amazing I am at lying when you already know it's gonna be a lie anyways? This question is set to make someone fail from the start, lol.

What's one thing people love the most about you?

Uhh, I think it's something different for everyone. I'd say everyone I know would probably agree that it might be my ability to listen to others and empathize with them no matter who they are. (Well that, and my sense of humour. I love making people laugh.)

What makes you really mad? Name one pet peeve

When people tell me that I look like Finn Wolfhard. It doesn't infuriate me, but it does kinda piss me off because he's a 14 year old boy, and I'm a 20 year old girl, haha

What do you think about IEscapist?

They seem pretty chill. I like their casual approach to everything, it made me feel warm and welcome throughout this entire contest :) We'd probably get along by just ranting about movie plotholes for hours while stuffing pizza in our mouths or something. I don't know, I can see it. *shrugs*

(We are same age, we'd probably be the most known best friends Pebbs! C'mon bud gimme a high five)

Any insane wish? Name one.

I really want Elton John's sunglasses collection.

Are you living the life you really want to live?

Yes. I'm no longer holding back, and taking every new opportunity that comes my way. Life is easier when you finally realize that you've had control this whole time, and the only person that has ever truly stopped you was yourself. (Oh wait, I should've answered that in a petty/sarcastic way. Wait! Fuck!)

Relationship status?

haHAAHAHAHhahAHHAHahAhAh! That's funny.

Best thing about being YOU?

My imagination. It's never changed since I was a child. I am a child trapped in an adult's body, please send h e l p .

Is being a writer a gift or a curse?

Both. A gift because I can write whatever the fuck I want...and a curse because I can write LITERALLY whatever the fuck I want...

You only get 3 words to describe yourself – what are they?

Awkward, passionate, and tired.

Do you have a crush on someone? If yes, any message for them?

You know what you did last summer.

Do you work to an outline or plot or do you prefer just see where an idea takes you?

I write both ways - kinda like planned improve. It also really depends on the book. On "Destination 1974", I spent seven years perfecting this story, and I still stowed away from my outline quite a bit.

What do you think about The Freedom Awards? Would you like to suggest something to better it next time?

I really liked it! It seemed quite organized, and actually stuck with what was said - most other contests I've joined just seemed to disappear and not follow through with their deadlines. I don't really have any suggestions, you did great!

How do you feel about winning a Freedom Award?

I almost cried when I got notified that I won. I called my sisters, and they all were super excited, and they can't wait to see my interview, lol. I was already super happy that day because it was my final shift for my dishwashing job in hell, and it really feels like I'm truly off to bigger and better places.

Any Message for the people of Wattpad?

I just want to say that even though I don't have very many reads or fans, that never stopped me from writing my book and doing something with myself. As long as you put your heart and soul into your work, and write something that you would want to read, then that's all that really matters. People will eventually notice you, and you can make some wonderful friends on your journey. Success isn't from the amount of votes and reads you get on your book, it's actually getting the damn thing finished with raw love and passion put into it ;)

I HAVE FALLEN FOR YOUR SUPERB PERSONALITY AND I LOVED TO INTERVIEW AND HAD SO MUCH FUN CE_Parker. I HOPE YOU FEEL THE SAME.
