Why did you start writing? What made you pick up the pen?
I had a huge imagination when I was younger and when I wrote I felt like I could bring whatever I imagined to life by writing it.
How long have you been writing now, and what makes you carry on?
I started writing when I was around 13 but didn't start taking it seriously until I was around 19. What makes me carry on is the unconditional love for the art, I can't go a day without writing or reading through my drafts because I genuinely love what I do. Also, knowing that other readers and writers love my work.
What is your favourite genre to write, and which genre do you wish you were better at?
So far, I love writing romance, both YA and New Adult, and I wish I was better at the thriller and horror genre. In fact, I wrote a horror novel that's coming back to Wattpad this October.
What is your favourite published book, and your favourite Wattpad book?
My favorite published book is, "The Fault in our Stars" by John Green and my favorite Wattpad book is "After" by Anna Todd.
What are you currently working on?
Right now, I'm currently working on "The Truth About Us" which is the sequel to "The Funny Thing About Us" on Wattpad and I'm also working on a super secret book that's set to come out the last week September on Wattpad.
Tell me about #LadyBossWriter...?
#LadyBossWriters is a book I wrote to help other writers promote themselves on social media. I know how difficult it is to balance writing and also trying to get your name out there as an author and I know that social media is one of the biggest ways to promote yourself in this day and age. Of course, writing and having a story to tell is the most important part of the job, but it's also important to promote your work and yourself on as many social media platforms as possible such as Twitter and Instagram.
What does Wattpad mean to you?
Oh Gosh! Wattpad means so many things to me. First, it means community. I've met so many amazing people that I would have never known if it wasn't for Wattpad, Second, It means love for the art of writing. I'm so blessed to be apart of a community that shares the love of reading and writing. And lastly, hope. Wattpad has given my dream of becoming a published author more of a reality.
What are your goals for the next year?
My goal for the next year is to become a published author and possibly be a part of the stars program on Wattpad. (cross your fingers)
What is your favourite thing about writing?
My Favorite thing about writing is being able to bring the movie in my head to life with pen and paper.
What advice would you give to people just starting out?
What I would tell writers just starting out is just start. Don't let anyone tell you that you're not good enough because you are good enough, Write the story you want to read, proofread, proofread, PROOFREAD, and join a community such as Wattpad to help you grow as a writer, gain more exposer, and get feedback on your work.
