1. What do they call you?

A. That depends on who ‘they’ are. :P Seriously, a lot of people call me a lot of different things. Good or bad is subjective. In the world of Wattpad, I’m called trixty.

2. For how long have you been writing?

A. I have dabbled with writing for a long time (like, really long). I’d start pieces and leave them incomplete most of the times. (I should get back to those actually) But it has been the past year or so that I have really immersed myself in the craft. And thanks to my new found dedication, I’ve realized that I love writing.

3. Which part of writing a story, do you enjoy the most? (Creating characters, the plot and the subplots, the beginning/ending or the middle)

A. That’s a tough one! I actually have to think about this. Hmm…I enjoy the entire process in general. Everything about writing a novel, a story is fun and challenging at the same time. It would be odd to pin point to just one of those. It’s almost as if being asked to point out your favorite ingredient out of your most beloved dish. Individually, that ingredient would be good but all the ingredients together make one hell of a dish. (I just realized that I picked a wrong analogy. It’s making me crave for…never mind.)

(lol! I think the analogy was great :))

4. Have you faced any embarrassing moments, in terms of writing?

A. I’d say that would be the typos that no amount of re-reading, re-editing and running the document through several reviewing programs can pick up, but a reader will point them out to you. That is embarrassing. I almost scream out at the word ‘I read past you a million times. Where were you then?’ I try not to make those but damn my pudgy fingers. I need bigger keys on my keyboard.

5. Which is your favorite color? Have you made any reference to it in your story/stories?

A. That’s easy; it’s pink. (Girly, I know! But I am girly and not ashamed of it.) I do try to give it a cameo somewhere in the plot. But it isn’t the focus.

6. Out of the stories you have written on Wattpad, which is the most memorable one?

A. The Right Choice; only because it’s the first story that I have actually managed to complete. The green tick next to the title is proof of that. :)

7. Are you planning on publishing soon?

A. I hope to. Although, I’m torn about the direction in which I should approach this. Any and every suggestion is most welcome. Send me a PM please. :)

8. Which is your favorite book/series on Wattpad?

A. Celia's Sulfur Spring and More Fairy Tales for Modern Dreamers by Alex Schattner (@alexschattner). How can I even explain its awesomeness? It’s so difficult to put it in words. Let’s just say that Alex writes a modern take on fairy tales which is very refreshing. The stories are short, sweet and almost always have a hidden moral to learn from. (My favorite one is Daphne+4 Interns. Let me know if you’ve read it.)

9. What kind of help do you provide - critiques, free advice or editing?

A. As an Ambassador, I do what any ambassador does; help out in general. I try not to critique or edit because I, myself am in the cradle as far as writing goes. I think there are probably much better writers on Wattpad to do that. Yes, certain pointers I do share. Especially the ones that should be inherently a part of your writing. I mean, come on; we’ve all learnt the language since we were little. We can’t afford to make silly errors with grammar(<-- that’s how it’s spelled folks!) and spellings.

10. Which author do you idolize (off Wattpad)?

A. It’s a long list. But I consider Stephen King, Ken Follett and Michael Crichton to be the masters.

11. If you were a newbie, which part of the story would you focus on most?

A. The most important part would be to ensure that your story has proper grammar and properly constructed sentences. It’s easy to think of an idea but hard to write it out. And that’s why, I’d focus on the writing. The closest second would be editing. Edit, edit , edit, edit , edit; even when you are done posting the chapter. Trust me one this; you will find errors. (I always do)

(yeah, me too >-< !)

12. Which is your favorite character (off Wattpad) ?

A. Hmm… I think I like Richard Levine from The Lost World by Michael Crichton. I like how he behaves like a total smart ass and puts people off by his know-it-all behavior. And in contrast he is very timid in practical situations, causing the very people who hate him to save his self-absorbed self.

13. If you were given a choice to become one character (of your story posted on Wattpad) which one would you be and why?

A. Honestly, I’d love to be Holden Smith though he isn’t the main character. He is a movie star who has a drinking problem yet girls fall for him. I conceived him to be this narcissistic man with everything at his fingertips. I am very intrigued by people who are like that. (Hence a similar choice as an answer to the previous question) I always wonder how a narcissist’s mind allows him to be like that which is why I’d love to be in his shoes.

14. Do you prefer dark romance or the usual?

A. I don’t really have a specific choice on this. I love to read a lot of different things. I try to read every genre. I mean, you never know which book you might end up enjoying. I love to keep my eyes wide open for every possibility. I don’t read romance in general but I found an awesome romance novel quite randomly and loved it. (I can’t remember the name for the life of me for some reason) It’s about an English nurse who gets hired at an Italian Countess’s house to play the piano for her blind son. I know what you’re thinking; a nurse hired to play the piano? What the… It seems oddly out of character for the nurse but it somehow works. That’s the beauty of keeping your options open. You might stumble on something awesome.

15. Where do you look for your inspiration?

A. Everywhere. I mean the world around you, is mostly a pretty awesome place. Even the bad in it can inspire you to write something good. Music always helps too. It helps to enhance your imagination. And when you lose track, it helps you to re-visit that feeling.

16. What’s your favorite TV show?

A. I love a bunch of them actually. I loved Supernatural (up to season 5) a lot. After that it seems kind of all over the place but I still watch it. Winchesters all the way!!! Other than that I like Castle; it’s a pretty smart show. I love how the female protagonist gets to be the tougher one. Plus, it’s a way to research police procedures too. Two birds; one stone! ;)

(yup! I do that too! I love Beckett ! :))

17. Do you prefer more reads, votes or comments?

A. Give me comments on any given day. I publish on Wattpad to get feedback and interact with the readers. That’s my main aim. Anything else is just a cherry on the cake. :)

18. Imagine the world is collapsing around you, what would you choose to save – technology or books?

A. That’s a tricky one. I chose the secret option number three; me, my family and loved ones. Now after saving all of that, between the above mentioned options, I think my choice would depend on ‘how’ the world is ending. I mean saving books when the sea levels are rising is just insane a thought. Technology trumps in that case. But if there’s a failure of, I don’t know, electricity or other technical faults, books would be the way to go. If all else fails then we can always resort to painting in caves. :)

(lol! Painting the caves! that's a brilliant idea. Heading back to the Stone Age I guess.. :))

19. What is the best advice you have given and received?

A. My English language professor from college once told me that imagination is the key. Imagine and describe, that’s how you write a novel. He said, the day your imagination dies is when you stop writing. He made a very valid point which unfortunately took me some time to absorb. But what the heck, better late than never.

20. Any extra tips for our young writers?

A. I’d say the same as my professor, imagination is the key. However ridiculous a thought may be, don’t stop imagining ever!! And read a lot. It’s my personal belief that only a good reader can become a good writer. Plus, don’t limit yourself to Wattpad alone. (Sorry, folks at the Wattpad HQ) But, there’s nothing like the feeling of waiting in anticipation of turning a page to read what happens next.

(aye! Nice one!)
