Learning how to dance (Ashe Ubert)
Concept: Ashe is needy for something in particular but he can't tell you straight up what he wants as it's entirely embarrassing. So instead of talking, he tries to leave hints but they obviously don't work.

Ashe wanted something.
Ashe wanted you, specifically.
You'd been in a relationship officially ever since the war ended. There was no real time to think about courtship during the war but your other Blue Lions friends would catch the loving glances and the slight touches you two thought you were hiding really well. You weren't. At all. Nearly everyone thought it was cute besides Felix who thought it was sickeningly cringe.
Even though the two of you had been courting for a while, you and Ashe hadn't really had the conversation about marriage. Or anything that comes... After that.
Ashe can't deny having thought about you in less than clean positions late at night when he was alone. He has imagined touching you so gently, kissing and worshipping every inch of your skin, hearing you cry his name in a way he only wanted to hear you do.
Even just thinking about that now was stirring something in him. He had to stop thinking and shut his brain off for a bit.
Right now, he was dead set on avoiding you. These thoughts of his are too impure. He had to avoid you in order to not somehow curse you with this horrible thoughts.
Currently, your heroic group of friends were gathered at Dimitris palace to celebrate the end of the war. You didn't get to do it right away because Dimitri and Byleth both had a lot of work to do in order to rebuild Fodlan.
Today was the day of the big party. You were staying at the palace for a week, just to hang out mostly, but there was one designated party day and today was it.
You had allowed Annette and Mercedes to mess with your hair, styling it in a way that frames your face while still looking elegant. They put a tiny bit of makeup on you. Mostly just some concealer, a little eyeliner to accentuate your eye shape, mascara, and a bit of lip tint. Nothing too extravagant but still beautiful. The clothes they picked out for you... Were a bit too much so you went with something a bit more simple. A white button down with a black jacket over it and black pants.
You looked stunning. Everyone looked at you once you stepped out of your bedroom and into the entrance hall where everyone was set to meet for the festivities. Ashes eyes widened when he saw you. You already looked more gorgeous than the Goddess to him. Now? You were absolutely ethereal. The light of the setting sun set a glow around you that made your eyes sparkle and your hair shone with streaks of gold. He was so lucky you're his partner and no one else's.
He couldn't help the protective arm snaking around your waist, pulling you closer to him.
The night started with a large feast. You think there should be a better word for it because there was SO MUCH FOOD. Almost enough to feed all of Faerghus if you had to wager. You figure you knew who helped prepare it as he's usually the one who does the cooking whenever you would visit.
Dimitri and Dedue had been married after the war ended. Dedue had been one of the people to help pull Dimitri out of his feral state that consumed him once Edelgard was revealed to be the Flame Emperor. It was terrifying to witness. Now, seeing him smiling and laughing at his husbands side was a major relief.
You partook in the delicious food and had a drink or two. Not enough to feel overly tipsy but to feel a slight buzz. That should make the inevitable activities with the Blue Lions after dinner more bearable. Or so you hope.
There was a bit of dancing. That was the event open to the public. Common folk and nobles alike were all invited to dance and eat for a night to celebrate peace. Some people had asked you to dance as well! It was quite lovely. Though you weren't the best dancer you tried your best and enjoyed your evening.
Ashe couldn't be found anywhere.
You knew Ashe was having some trouble with something or other. What exactly it was? You had no idea. You do know he was avoiding you when he could. Maybe you did something wrong? You'd never know if he never told you.
You danced with Sylvain as he was trying to dance with everyone. While dancing, you engaged in conversation.
"Hey Syl? You've got an eye for things regarding romance. Can you help me with something?" Sylvains eyebrow quirked and his smile grew a centimeter wider.
"Oh? What's on my little friends mind?" You scoffed and moved one of your conjoined hands to hit him. He laughed as you more so bopped him gently then hit him with the force you really wanted to.
"Well... I think I did something wrong because Ashe has been avoiding me for the most part ever since we've gotten here," you said. Something seemed to click in Sylvains brain and he leaned down to whisper something in your ear. You pulled back in shock at what he said.
"SYLVAIN! You do NOT just say something like that!" You laughed, mostly in embarrassment but also in genuine amusement. You pulled away from him slightly to give him a look.
"It's true! Look, all I'm saying is that every man has his needs but some men just don't know how to go about asking their partners to help them. So maybe you should be the one to make the first move! He might be into that," you really wanted to punch the redhead again but seeing the results of last time decided against it.
"Ugh, I hate you sometimes," a term of endearment and he knew that. "I just don't know where to start with things like... That." Your face was a bright red and you were thankful Annette didn't use any blush on you.
"Now I can't read Ashes mind nor do I know much about his preferences, but if I had to wager a guess..." Sylvain leaned down to whisper in your ear again. Your face was still very red but you still listened intently. Some of the things he said made sense! You guess?
After all that dancing, you were tired. The shoes you were wearing weren't exactly 'Stand on your feet for hours' shoes. So you went to the courtyard.
It was huge. There were trellises covered with flowery vines, planter boxes filled with flowers from all over Fodlan and beyond, some plants from Duscur, there was a LAKE that flowed to the moats outside the palace, there was a fountain that looked intricately carved and custom designed for the Kings of Fodlan. You knew Dimitri had funds because, duh, king, but nothing so much as to being able to afford a CUSTOM FOUNTAIN. Damn, Dedue must be spoiled. But if you think about it, Dimitri must get spoiled an equal amount in turn. Dedue is an AMAZING chef. He can make dishes that could put the best chefs in Fodlan to shame. Problem: Dimitri can't taste things. Maybe he could taste the love his husband put into the dishes and that made someone? You rationalized that made sense. Yup. That's exactly how that works. You also placed a bet with Sylvain that Dedue had amazing massage skills. That was a conversation between you, Sylvain, and Dimitri. That bet has yet to be paid out.
The moon light and the smell of the flowers in the garden was almost as intoxicating as the drinks served at dinner. The moon reflected in the water of the lake which is where your feet led you. You watched some fish flutter around and some ducks swam by, a mom with her little ducklings paddling by in a line. One of the ducklings took a look at you and seemed to smile. You smiled back. It was absolutely an adorable scene that you wished to capture forever. Your boyfriend seemed to agree.
"Y/N," when he found you in the garden, watching the ducks, he thought that you rivaled the Goddess in ethereality. Moonlight danced through your hair and shone in your eyes, adding a depth to their color like he'd never seen before. He wanted to lean in and kiss you right then.
"Oh, Ashe! It's a beautiful night, isn't it?" You asked, giving him a closed eye smile.
"Indeed," he responded, barely audible. He was lost in your beauty. The two of you spent a few minutes just looking at each other before you cleared your throat.
"Ashe, I must apologize. I'm sorry for whatever I've done that's made you avoid me for the past few days," he perked up, snapping back to reality, when he heard your voice. He gave you a look of concern.
"What for? You did nothing wrong," he took your hands in his.
"Then why have you been avoiding me, Ashe? If it's not something I said or did, please tell me. I can't help you if you don't talk to me," oop, there goes gravity. He felt his heart sinking into his stomach. You took a step closer to him. "Please, just talk to me."
Ashe gulped. How in the world was he going to say what he wanted? Words fail him whenever he needs them the most, it seems. He would open his mouth only to close it split seconds later. He couldn't do it. He just couldn't. He accidentally swallowed wrong and started choking. Being the gentleman he is, he dropped your hands and turned away from you once he started choking.
"Ashe, are you okay?" You asked, voice laced with concern. It took a few seconds for him to stop coughing.
"Yes, yes, I'm alright! Do not worry," he raised his head and turned back to face you once he was certain he was truly alright. He didn't move to hold your hands again.
"Alright? You seem tense. Is something the matter?" You grabbed his hands. They were sweaty and clammy. He was definitely nervous about something.
"I'm alright! Really, I am! I just don't know how to say what's on my mind," he said, hoping that he wasn't stuttering through his words.
"May I wager a guess?" You asked and he nodded. You leaned to whisper in his ear. His face turned a nice shade of red and he nodded shyly.
"I'm sure you'll be glad to know I feel the same way. I want that too. So if we both want to, then why don't we...?" You hoped he'd pick up the pieces and understand what you're insinuating. He nodded and led you by the hand back to the bedroom you were sharing in the palace. Once the door was closed, his lips found yours. You wrapped your arms around his neck, moving one to lace into his hair. Giving his hair a slight tug, he gasped softly into the kiss which made you smile. You felt him shyly place his hands on your waist.
You broke away from the kiss and pushed him back onto the bed, your smile never leaving your face. He landed on his back on the bed and was looking at you with the most adorable look you've ever seen. His eyes were filled with a mix of adoration, love, and lust. You moved to remove your jacket and unbutton your shirt, letting it fall off your shoulders. Ashe's hands immediately found their way to your shoulders, bringing you down to lie on top of him. His lips found your neck, kissing from your jaw down to your collarbone. He stopped at a particular spot that made you gasp. That spot was his focus for the next while. He wanted to hear more noises that he could drag out of you. He experimentally bit down there which caused you to let out a small moan. Perfect. He stayed at that spot, biting softly and kissing your neck until there was a slight mark. It was in a place so that it would only be seen if someone looked hard enough.
You eventually tugged at Ashes hoodie, wanting to have that off of him so you wouldn't be the only one topless. You sat up and moved off of him. Ashe did the same, finally removing the hoodie.
He is chiseled. Of course, he's an archer. That makes sense. You ran your hands along his chest, tracing scars you found from the war along the way. He shuddered under your touch. You pushed him back down onto the bed. You followed him down and kissed him with as much passion as you could.
You knew you were in for one amazing night.
