@Lollipop2204
1) "Name?"
Laura
2) "Age?"
Over 30.
3)" What are your hobbies?"
I love spending time with my family. I enjoy music, films and reading. I also enjoy crafting but I haven’t done much lately. I’m a fairly simple creature, lol.
4) "When did you start writing and why?"
I used to write poetry at school to process how I was feeling and I started writing Kiwi in October 2017 (I had to go back and find that out), mostly as a challenge for myself.
5) "Which was your first story generally?"
Kiwi is the first story I’ve written.
6) "Do you write in some other website except Wattpad?"
Nope. I only write on Wattpad. Everyone I’ve ‘met’ here is just so nice and friendly, I don’t think I would consider writing somewhere else.
7) "What has given you motive to keep on writing?"
A few things give me motivation, that I enjoy it is one. Another is that people are actually reading, commenting and voting on it and that means so much to me. And lastly there are two amazing ladies I’ve met on here who are always there when I need encouragement.
8 )"Have you ever wanted to give up everything? (writing I mean)"
Uhm… I don’t think so. I think there was a time where I perhaps felt like I might stop publishing but I always felt like I’d finish the story even if it was just for myself.
9) "Which is your favorite story on Wattpad?"
That is a tough question, there are so many talented people on here but I think I’m going to have to go with Battlefield by @WhoopsHarryStyles. The main character Alys will always have a little piece of my heart, I just think she’s wonderfully un-perfect and I can see pieces of myself in her.
10) "Have you gained any friendship from Wattpad? If yes, which are your Wattpad friends?"
Yes, I’ve been lucky enough to make some friends on Wattpad. @WhoopsHarryStyles and @abutterflyonhistummy are the ones I speak to most often and I love them dearly even although we live on opposite sides of the world. They are just lovely, supportive and amazingly talented women!!
11) "Do you relate with any of your characters from your books? If yes, which one and which characteristics are similar?"
Oh, for sure. There are little bits of me littered all over my work but I suppose Jessi is the one most like me, we both struggle with being confident and are quite self-deprecating. Praising myself for a job well done is still something I’m learning.
12) "What did you study /are you studying/do you want to study?"
I’m a qualified Teaching/Classroom Assistant and an IT Technician although I work in neither of those fields. And I’ve always wanted to learn Spanish but I’ve never gotten around to it.
13)" Describe yourself in 3 words."
I think this might be the hardest question, lol. I asked my son for help and he said funny and a little grumpy which leaves me one more… kind? I like to hope I’m kind. I try.
14) "What do you advise new writers?"
Well, I consider myself a new writer so the best advice I’ve been given is just keep going, oh and plan, plan, plan. It makes a difference when you have a clear path to follow.
15)" Questions based on ' Kiwi ' : How were you inspired to write this story?"
Hmm… I don’t really know. I just tried to think of something that I hadn’t read before.
16)" Who's your favourite character in the book and why? "
I think I have to say Jessi, she’s my girl but Danny comes a close second. He’s just wonderful - he always has Jessi’s back, and he’s a sweetheart.
17)" Have you decided the end of the book? "
Yes the book is complete and I can’t wait to share the ending with everyone who has come along for the ride with me.
18)"If you were asked to publish your book , would you do it?"
I don’t think so. I think my son might die of embarrassment, lol.
19)"Which is your favourite a) funny, b) dramatic, c) romantic, d) sad scene in the book, until now?"
a) My favourite funny moment is at the end of Chapter 16, Jessi is trying to disguise Harry and she realises he looks sexy in glasses which leads to them teasing each other back and forth, it’s simple and very true to life.
b) Chapter 49 has to be the most dramatic, I can’t say too much about what happens without revealing spoilers but it hurt my heart when I wrote it and when I went back to edit it later.
c) This one depends on how you define romance if we’re talking smut then Chapter 26, Harry and Jessi are out for dinner and let’s just say they are in the mood to eat something other than dinner. But for the sentimental option I’d go for a scene in Chapter 44, Jessi has been having a rough day and Harry has flown home early to surprise her, ran her a bath with candles and rose petals and cooked her dinner. It’s so sweet and exactly what she needed.
d) The saddest scene so far is probably the same as for option (b). Although there are a few scenes coming up which could challenge that and one which could cover all four.
20) " A phrase or a scene that you write and you'll never forget.(and why)"
Probably the Epilogue, I had that scene in my head for a while and when I got it all out and onto paper, I felt a huge sense of accomplishment. I’d done it. I’d written a book.
21) " How much time did it take to plan the whole plot? Are we near the end?"
So confession time, my planning was not the best. I had an ending and some things I wanted to happen along the way and I kinda just went with the flow the rest of the time. I’ve definitely done more planning on what I’ve written since.
22)" How many unpublished and half-finished books do you have?"
I currently have three unfinished books. One I am completely stuck with, one I am enjoying writing when I find the time and the other one's fate depends on Kiwi.
23) "Any spoilers for future plans?"
No! Spoilers are bad. LOL!
24)" Are you planning to publish a sequel?"
Perhaps I have a big chunk of a sequel written, and a plot worked out but we’ll see if anyone is interested. I’d probably publish it alongside the other story I’m working on.
25) " Choose- 'challenge' two writers that you want to know about to do this interview like you."
@thirteen13blue and @aggressivelyfriendly - I have books by both of them in my Library that I haven’t gotten around to reading yet so it would be cool to know more about them.
CRITICAL QUESTIONS
1) " What mythical creature would improve the world most if it existed?"
Hmm… tough question. I can’t decide between Unicorns or Mermaids. Unicorns are magical and so they could spread happiness wherever they went and Mermaids in myths are rather sinister, so let’s err on the side of caution and go with Unicorns.
2) "What inanimate object do you wish you could eliminate from existence?"
Can I eliminate plastic and save the ocean? Are there unforeseen consequences to getting rid of plastic? Like what would my laptop be made of? Screw it! Plastic be gone!
THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO INTERVIEW ME @magioula AND THANKS FOR THE NOMINATION @abutterflyonhistummy.
