Chapter 39: One last whisper, one last dream, one last closed road

     "Mom, Dad, I have to tell you something. " Taehyung says, looking at his parents, who stop eating to listen to him.

     "Sure, dear, go on." the blond-haired woman says, and the man next to her immediately approves.

      "I have a boyfriend." Taehyung finally says, taking both of them by surprise. "Better says, I used to." he whispers the last part to him, waiting for his parents to say something.

     The bandanna boy's mother looks at her husband, as if she is talking to him with her eyes. No, it's not as if they are not supporting their son or as if they doesn't know already that Taehyung is bisexual. Taehyung told them about his sexual inclination many years ago, but the truth is that they are both surprised. The bandanna boy never told them about any relationship, with any girl or boy. They both know that Taehyung used to prefer night adventures in exchange for a relationship. It means this guy he's talking about is special.

      "Well, that's a real surprise. " Mr. Kim says, then straightens his voice. "What's the name of this young man, son? He seems special, if you told us about him. " he asks after, as the youngest one just smiles warmly, glad they both reacted pretty well.

     "Jungkook. Jeon Jungkook." the bandanna-boy answers, as his parents just look at him intently. "And yes, you have right, he is really special to me, dad. He is... he is wonderful." he continues and his mother smiles, more than happy, hearing her son talk like that. 

     Yes, some parents may not be able to accept that their children have same-sex relationships. Unfortunately, there are many homophobic parents, especially in Korea. But not in their case. They know that the most important thing is their son's happiness, and right now, judging by Taehyung's loving glance, as he talks about that Jungkook, he is certainly happy. And this is enough for them. 

     "How did you meet? Is he in the same university as you? What does he looks like? Tell us as much as you can, darling. " her mother starts asking him as if she were from the police, and her husband starts laughing weakly.

     "Easy, honey, he can tell us everything. " Mr. Kim intervenes, then shifts his gaze back to his son. "So ... how did you meet him?"

      Taehyung chuckles a little at this question, then scratches his neck lightly. Yes, how did he met Jungkook? Well...

    "Is really a funny story actually. He... he kinda punched me in the first few minutes we saw each other. It was a really great first encounter! " he says in an amused tone, and the two begin to laugh.

     "Oh, my! Are you with the boy who gave you a punch at when you first saw him? Now I'm really looking forward to meet this boy! " Mrs. Kim jokes at her turn, as her husband boss instantly.

    "Okay, you're going to have a funny story to tell your kids. " Mr. Kim says, while Taehyung's smile seems to be lost from his face.

     His children and Jungkook's? Yes, that sounds like a dream. To adopt, together with the boy who made him fall in love, some smaller angels. But is it possible? Judging by their last conversation, didn't it really seem like they can have a very secure future together. But the bandanna boy will fight to make this dream ... to be more than just a dream.

     "So does that mean he's in the same university as you? Don't tell me he's on the same football team as you, because it would look exactly like a movie! " the blonde woman comments excited, and her boy chuckles again.

     "Yes, and even more than that, he is my roommate too! Can you believe this?" the youngest one asks at his turn, while his parents share some amazed and delighted looks.

     "This can be the destiny, indeed." the man in front of the bandanna-boy says, as the woman just seems more than just happy. "How does he look like? If he's on the same team as you, I guess he has a pretty built body too, right? " he asks after, and the other boy nods.

      "Yes, but even if he has a body almost as hot as mine, he has a cute face too, which makes him look like a strong bunny or something!" Taehyung says, without thinking too much. "He is somehow broken yet beautiful, and even though he's always trying to be secluded and cold with those around it, it's actually one of the warmest and purest souls I've ever encountered. He ... has suffered a lot in this life, and even with that, he still hasn't completely given up. That is why he is simply more than wonderfully powerful. I love him more than I ever thought I can love someone, and I promised to help him get through all the suffering, no matter what. "

     He spoke from the heart. He said exactly what he was thinking when he heard his boyfriend's name (yes, it doesn't matter if they broke up). And when he meets the warm looks of his parents, he realizes once again how lucky he is, while Jungkook is forced to live with some monsters, who claim to be his mother and father.

     "I have no idea what's really going on in this boy's life, Tae. But after hearing you talk about him, I tend to think he's extremely lucky to have met you, just as you are. " the boy's mother says, smiling. "And if you really love him so much, you should never let him go, no matter how hard the road seems to be at first."

     "Your mother has right." Mr. Kim intervenes. "A wise man said once: Love is the wing given by God to the soul to ascend to Him. It means that love is the most beautiful thing a human being can do, and no matter how many obstacles arise, if that love is true, it will always find a way to come to light. "

       Taehyung smiles, feeling his heart soften at the words. And yes, he is even more determined to go after his boyfriend and solve everything.

     "That's not all. I want to ... I want to ask you something. I need help." the bandanna boy says later, while his parents listen to him.

     "What can we do for you, darling? We will do anything if we have the power. " the woman says, and the youngest one just takes a deep breath.

      "I want to go after him in Busan. I want ... I want him to stay here with us until this vacation is over. I know it's all too fast, but his parents ... his parents are not like you, mom, dad. " Taehyung explains, making the two in front of him look a little puzzled.

      "What do you mean, Tae?"

       "Jungkook was raised very differently from how I was raised. He ... he did not receive parental love, as you both of you, took care to give me. " the bandanna-boy begins, then close his eyes for a few seconds. "There are many things I can't tell you about him because I don't have that right. But what I can tell you is that his parents are not good people, they are not people who deserve Jungkook as their son. " he continues, and immediately afterwards, his father looks at him with a faint smile on his face.

      "We understand, son. And of course you can bring him here, we would be more than just happy to meet him. And can I tell you something? "

       "Of course, dad."

        "You look the best, being in love, son. Your eyes only glow when you talk about this Jungkook. " the man says and the blonde woman smiles immediately.

        "I never believed in love. That was until I met him. Simply ... when I'm with him I feel like I can be whatever I want, without even trying. " Taehyung says and his mother gets up, then approaches him and kisses him on the forehead.

        "Feeling that way is quite rare these days, my tiger. Be careful not to lose what you have, it would be a shame. " the woman says and Taehyung smiles at her, then gets up and takes her in his arms.

       "Thank you for supporting me, mom. " he comments later and, after breaking the hug, he looks at his father. "And you too, dad. Seriously, you two are the best. "

       "We will always support you, and we will help you with anything, as long as we can. " Mr. Kim says, then takes a sip of coffee, pulling out his phone from the pocket. "What will you get to Busan with? " he then asks and the boy takes out his phone too, looking a little confused at the unknown number on the screen, but then focusing at the hour.

       "I bought a train ticket. I'll be there in about three hours. " the boy with the bandana says, and his father does not seem very satisfied.

       "You can throw that ticket in the toilet. I'm talking to Zack and he'll find you a seat on a plane. You have to get to the airport in half an hour. You will arrive twice as fast as by train. You know, son, love shouldn't be left waiting long! " the man in the black suit says, and Taehyung immediately hugs him, more than satisfied.

      "Thank you so much, dad! You are amazing!" he raises his voice enthusiastically, then pulls away from his embrace, looking at them both. "I'm going to get ready and run to the airport!" he then comments and runs to his room, not waiting for his parents to answer.

      As soon as he gets to his room, he starts looking for clothes to change in the closet, but stops as soon as his phone rings. When he notices the same unknown number as before, he realizes that it was not a simple mistake.

     "Hello?" Taehyung opens the conversation, then he can hear a sigh from the other end of the line.

      "I have no idea why I'm doing this. " the other voice says, and Taehyung immediately becomes much more rigid when he realizes who he is.

      "What the fuck do you want, Min?" the bandanna boy's aggressive voice doesn't seem to bother the older one, as Taehyung can imagine the silver-haired boy even rolling his eyes.

     "To ask you a question." Yoongi replies within a second, as the younger one frowns instantly. 

      "Are you drunk, you idiot? What the hell do you really want? "

     "Do you love him?" 

       This question forces Taehyung to forget his words, while all thoughts go to one name: Jungkook.

       "Are you with him? Min, I swear if you did anything to him, I- "

       "I had a discussion with him a few days ago, and yes, let's just say that Jeon finally seemed to understand that he didn't deserve to live. Today he came to tell me that I was right, and I know he is going to do something... not so good."

     What he just heard makes Taehyung feel instantly dizzy, feeling like he's about to faint from worry. No ... that can't happen!

      "You bastard! I will kill you, I swear I will-"

      "Strange, I couldn't feel revenge. And you can try to kill me, but if you don't want to do that after you bury your boyfriend, then I suggest you hurry. " Yoongi says and the other looks more than puzzled.

      "If you wanted him to commit suicide so much, then why did you call me to warn me?" Taehyung asks, as his hands begin to tremble, looking like for some random clothes.

      "Because I know what it's like to bury your boyfriend. It's sucks."

     And with that, the call is closed.
