3. Hunting

Jongin's hair was a shade of silver, dyed obviously, but silky. Hell, his hair reflected the sunlight and screamed expensive hair dye treatments. His skin tone, though, was another matter altogether. It was dark and covered with mist spray. Clearly a person who groomed himself a lot. His shirt was neatly ironed and had a fresh tone to it. He seemed like the type of person who was pampered by butlers and maids at home, who probably called him "Young master" or something.

"You look like my dog when you're peeking out from behind the seat like that." Jongin laughed when his pretty brown eyes met Rin's dark ones. "Blood." He pointed at the side of his lips and then at Rin, who unconsciously touched her own lips and winced at the sharp pain. It was probably from Min Jae's punch earlier. Rin wasn't much for conversations with strangers and there was nothing to say 'thank you' for, so she slung her bag over her shoulder and headed out to exit the bus. When she had almost stepped out, he spoke up again. "You're new here, aren't you?"

Rin turned around to get a glimpse of him leaning back against the seat as he lazily took a bite of the candy bar. "What if I am?" She asked. His manner of behaviour irritated her for some reason.

"Min Jae is a member of Molecule." He said and Rin froze. Her eyes widened and steps faltered. "I'm pretty sure your name is already circulated on social media among the students. When they start arriving, which is in around ten minutes, you'll start living the life of an outcast." There was still a smile on his face, one mixed with pity. "Do you want a tissue paper for that?" He pointed at the stain of blood that still hadn't left the side of her lips.

In frustration, Rin used the white sleeve of her shirt to wipe it off. "It doesn't matter." She replied and took a deep breath.

Jongin looked at the floor while there was some silence between them. He brought the candy bar to his lips, then paused. "What did you do?" He asked, almost as if Rin had some mischief to hide.

"I was around when they were talking, so they think I was eavesdropping." Rin narrated.

"Oh no,"

"Then, they-"

"Good god, there's more?"

"They reached for my skirt to look for my wallet, so I choked one of their members with my knot headband."

Jongin gasped. "You did?"

"I didn't mean to-"

"You're dead. Min Jae will take it as a personal hit. They're probably gathering information about you right now. Your classroom, phone number, work place, address, parents, personal contacts, everything. They'll pick you up from one of these places soon." Jongin said with laughter still etched in his tone.

Rin, though, didn't find that funny. With Molecule involved, she knew all of this was very well possible. Jongin's gaze followed her left hand that was clutching her skirt in a death grip. He soon realized it was to prevent her fingers from trembling.

"How cute is that, now." Jongin remarked. His eyes were laughing at her and Rin knew those chocolate brown ones were the eyes of a person that loved watching people suffer. Rin knew she was doomed, but what choice did she have, but to face it. So, she took a deep breath, held her head up high and took that next step out of the bus.

For the first time that day, Jongin's eyes didn't mock or laugh, they were just left questioning. "You're still going to go?" He asked in surprise. Rin didn't feel the need to respond. She stepped out.

There was the chirp of little birds piercing her ears. So far, she was doing great. Things became a little scary when Rin heard the metal gates open. The students were going to start pouring in and how they treated her would show exactly how bad was her situation. She took small, unsure steps towards the main school building. Two boys passed her as they chatted and laughed casually. Then, another boy passed, a group of five girls, a couple, and Rin let out a relieved breath. She was good, nobody was going to treat her terribly.

Suddenly, a girl that was passing by Rin reached to check her phone. It was very strange because almost everyone around Rin seemed to be getting a notification on their phone. She looked around and everyone's eyes were focused on their phones, but Rin hadn't got that notification yet. Her heart beat sped up. One of the boys looked up from their phone and spotted Rin. She watched how he then tapped his friend's arm who also looked up and made eye contact with her.

Only a person who has been in that situation before knows how ridiculous it feels. Everybody shamelessly or secretively points at the one person that is currently the centre of attention.

Rin's phone vibrated and she immediately swiped to check her notifications. It was a message with an image attached. It read, "Bring this person to Molecule's hideout. You'll be given a chance to prove yourself to be our member." As it downloaded, Rin saw her photo attached with it.

A boyish chuckle sounded from behind Rin. "Wha- You're really going to be hunted down." Jongin said as he looked at his phone.
