A Job at SI
A/n I have no life, or soul, and this made me happy. The image of Tony Stark spilling coffee on his shirt is something I would fall asleep to. Speaking of sleep, you won't get any listening to this piece of musical art.
______
____________
Sprinting through the door, I catch Peter on his way to school. "So, was it just me, or was that Stark test kinda easy?" I ask. I flew through the test. It's probably my dumb brain telling me all the wrong answers, but I could have sworn it was a joke. "Easy? You're just smart Willow. There is no way I got the internship, but you definitely got it. If anyone can, it's you."
"I think Spider-Man got in too." Fear is etched in Peter's face. "I never told you my name last night. If you're not careful, someone else will figure out. Thanks for the help back there though." I pat his back, and head off to class. That's when I forgot I was in his class, too.
Exactly 10 minutes into the 3rd session of the day, Peter and I get called to the office. Grabbing Peter, I storm out of the room. "Let me do the talking. Whatever I did, I'm going to try to get you out of it." I mumble. Parker nods.
Opening the door, I see THE TONY STARK! As in, Tony 'I am Ironman' Stark. The funds for the Avengers. One of the richest people- wait, scratch that- THE RICHEST PERSON IN THE WORLD! I could go on. "You two are the high scorers on the Stark internship?" He asks, and I lightly shove Peter inside.
"I think he is. Smartest kid I know." I slowly back up, then turn to him. "Don't make a fool of yourself." I'm just at the door way, when Mr. Stark looks up from two test papers.
"According these papers, you got 100%. I didn't get that far, and I made the test." I'm absolutely flabbergasted. I got a higher score than STARK?
He waves to us to follow. As we pass the front desk, he lets the receptionist know that we'll be out of school for the rest of the day.
Receiving a keycard from the desk for the both of us, we're taken up to the Stark private lab. THE STARK LAB! "I should warn you, Bruce has been nagging me about you." The elevator doors open, and the god of thunder is on the couch eating poptarts. Even doing random everyday things, he's majestic.
"Hello, Man of Iron." His overly loud voice echos through the room. "Friends of the man of iron." He acknowledges our presence. A loud cheer comes from another room, followed by groans of disappointment. "
"I'll be right back." Tony informs us, as he opens a door, and the scene of adults playing mario cart is displayed on a large screen.
I nudge Peter, who is fidgeting with his fingers. "Parker, do you know how unlikely it was that either of us would get in? He's one of the smartest people in the world, and if he fires you, it's the last thing he'll ever do." I try to calm him down. He stops fidgeting, and looks at me. His big brown doe eyes melt my heart.
"Thanks Willow." Just then Bruce Banner walks in. "Hi, Dr. Banner sir, I've read all your books on gamma radiation, and I admire your work." He'd say more, but I nudge him again, and he takes the hint.
"Tony got bored the first few pages. I'm surprised anyone has read them." Bruce chuckles lightly, and Pete beams with happiness.
Tony then decides to test us on repairing a coffee machine. I'm pretty sure it just broke, and he can't be bothered to fix it himself. After the first half hour, we fix the coffee machine, and Tony's zoned into his work. Silently writing on the only surface I can, my hand, I ask Peter if he wants to make adjustments to it. We begin to add a face recognition, where it registers your face, and asks if you want the usual. We don't have time to test it when Tony looks up from his computer. "Well done..." he trails off when he sees the small camera, and the wired drive I'm readjusting.
"Oh, mr. Stark, we were umm... adding an adjustment to the original design..." I cut him off.
"We added a face recognition. It should remember what coffee you made last." I amend for my stuttering partner.
"Interesting. Be ready to start work Monday."
