PRESENTS!!!!
You and the rest of the Paladins were sitting in the dinning hall after returning back from Glacies.
"How was the planet?" Allura spoke.
"It was littered with bodies from the Galra attack., Shiro replied. Hunk immediately shivered from the thought.
"Galra attack? So your planet was conquered too?" Coran asked you. You shook your head.
"No, all of the inhabitants were either killed or taken hostage. It's been years though. I highly doubt they're still alive," you replied. Allura clenched her fists.
"But why? Zarkon has conquered every planet he's attacked besides the ones he destroyed. Why did he leave your planet alone?" Allura asked, envy and anger rising inside her.
"Now now, calm down Princess," Coran tried to calm her, but she kept glaring at you. You looked at her with a cold, blank stare.
"What's the point? If a planet's been abandoned for over 10,000 years it might as well be destroyed. There's no point of a planet if there's no one occupying it anymore," you replied flatly, never breaking eye contact with Allura. She just narrowed her eyes at you. The others who were in the room began to sweat from the intense stare down going on between you two.
"Who do you think'll win?" Hunk whispered to Pidge and Lance.
"Y/n will. Y/n's way scarier," Lance whispered back. Pidge fixed her glasses.
"I think It's even. Allura and Y/n are both incredibly intense, but in their own way," she replied.
"Should we stop them?" Shiro asked Coran. Coran shook his head.
"Nope! Let's wait and see where this goes," he replied, almost as hyped as Hunk. You and Allura had stared each other down for so long, an invisible spark of lightning appeared between you two. The longer you stared, the brighter your eyes glowed. A burning sensation began in your purple eye, but you ignored it. Images of Zarkon began to flash in your vision, but you still never took your eyes off of Allura.
They'll never accept you.
Your eyes twitched at the voice in your head. You refused to listen to it right now. P/n whimpered and pawed your cheek.
"How long have they been staring at each other?" You heard Lance whisper.
"Five minutes," Pidge replied.
"You may not realize this Allura," you started, breaking the intense silence between you two. "But I'd rather see my planet explode than the decayed bodies of the people who were once my friends." You stood up, but never took your eyes off her.
"I'll be on the training deck. Call me if anything happens," you said, finally turning your head and walking out of the room, followed by P/n.
"Princess... you should cut her some slack. It was probably traumatizing seeing her kingdom like that," Shiro gently said.
"Her kingdom?" Allura repeated, glancing over at him.
"Well yeah, she is the daughter of the queen," Lance replied, as if it was the simplest thing in the world. Allura's and Coran's eyes widened.
"Y/n's a princess?" Allura repeated.
"Queen, actually. Her mother died, so that respectively makes her a queen," Pidge corrected. Allura suddenly looked down, guilt eating away at her.
"So Y/n also saw her kingdom crumble?" She quietly said.
"Also saw the bloodstains on the castle walls," Hunk added.
"What have I done? I can't believe I acted so selfishly..." She muttered.
"You didn't know. It wasn't your fault," Pidge said.
~
"Start training level five," you ordered. A gladiator, along with several drones, dropped from the ceiling. You and the gladiator began to fight while the drones were shooting lasers at you. You used the gladiator to protect you from the lasers. You took the staff and skillfully twirled it in your hand, successfully shocking the drones and making them drop to the ground. You finally used the staff and dug it into the gladiator and threw it into the air. You threw the staff away and connected your fist with its center, sending it flying to the other side of the room. P/n barked happily and spun around a few times. You sighed and ordered the training to stop. You stretched out your back, hearing various cracks. Suddenly, red alarms started to blare. You pulled up the screen and checked the entrance of the castle.
"What in the name of god is that?" You said out loud with P/n walking up to your side. P/n yipped.
"An Arusian? Maybe. We should go check it out. Let's go."
~
"Who the fuck is this?" You bluntly asked, walking up next to Lance.
"No one insults Klaizap!" The alien exclaimed, pointing its sword at you. P/n automatically began to snarl at it.
"Calm down, P/n," you ordered. She obeyed and blew a puff of steam out of her mouth.
"I am Klaizap. Who are you?" The alien asked.
"I'm Y/n and this is P/n," you replied, gesturing to the wolf robot that was on your shoulder.
"We were about to go to their village. Wanna come with?" Lance asked, leaning on your shoulder. You looked at Klaizap and waited for a moment.
"Fine."
"Hey, you actually didn't elbow me—GAUH!!"
~
You and P/n were with some small Arusians, playing what you think was charades. Someone tapped on your shoulder, so you looked behind you, and saw Lance standing there with an awkward smile.
"Hey. Can I talk to you for a bit?" He asked. You nodded and excused yourself, leaving P/n to deal with them.
"What's up?" You asked after going to a secluded area.
"I was just wondering if you were okay after that whole ordeal with Allura. You seemed pretty irritated," he said, looking at you with a downcast expression. You smiled and placed your hand on his shoulder.
"I'm not mad. Anymore. In fact, I wasn't mad at Allura either, I guess I was just... irritated that she thinks she's the only one who's been through a tragedy. I mean, yeah, Altea was destroyed, so she has every right to be angry, but I was irritated by the fact she thought I didn't care about my planet. That's all," you explained.
"So, you're cool now?" Lance asked, raising a brow. You smiled and dropped your hand.
"I was never mad. Or at least, never that mad," you replied, "But I'm fine now. Thanks for checking up on me Lance. I owe you one in the future." You gently rubbed his head before walking past him. He stood there for a minute.
"Y/n, I—"
You turned around to face him, but he quickly stopped what he was saying.
"Yes?" You asked. He shook his head.
"No, nothing. I'll tell you later," he replied with an uneasy smile. You didn't believe it, but you played along.
"Alright," you said, turning and walking away. Keith stood across from the two of you, his arms crossed, and his eyes narrowed.
Ja ne!
