PIDGE IN MY STORY IS GOING TO BE REFERRED AS A GIRL. A LITTLE MESSAGE TO ALL THE BUTTHURT PEOPLE: I APPRECIATE YOUR OPEN MINDNESS, BUT PIDGE ONLY CROSS DRESSED TO SNEAK INTO THE GARRISON AGAIN BECAUSE SHE GOT KICKED OUT THE FIRST TIME. HER NAME IS 'KATIE' AND THAT IS DEFINITELY NOT A MALE NAME UNLESS YOU CHANGE YOUR SEX, BUT PEOPLE CAN CROSS DRESS AND STILL IDENTIFY AS CIS, CALM DOWN.
Edit: First off, that avatar is ugly, second off, why you so damn aggressive, calm down, damn. Third off, this is your new appearance:
Since so many of you COMPLAINED ABOUT THE GODDAMN HAIR COLOR. NOW LOOK AT YOU. YOU'RE DEPRESSED. I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY.
~
"Let's see if we can't use this complete failure as a lesson for the rest of you students," Instructor Iverson said, motioning to the three males standing in front of him near the simulators. You and the rest of the cadets were standing at attention and stared at the three of them. It seemed he was planning to make fools out of them again. Even though they did fail, technically. "Can anyone point out the mistakes these three so-called cadets made in the simulator?" He stared down at the cadets.
'Oh god... not again...' You thought, slightly cringing at every mistake the others pointed out. The tiny pup-sized wolf robot appeared from your hair and sniffed at your ear, tickling you a bit.
"P/n, what are you doing here?" (Pet/name) You whispered in slight shock. Pets weren't allowed at the Garrison, so you had kept P/n hidden in your room everyday.
(Don't own the photo! Please pm me if you are the owner and I'll take it down immediately)
The pup whimpered near your ear, communicating with you.
"I know that, but you can't be seen!" You whispered back.
"Cadet!"
Your back instantly straightened up.
"What is that you have on your shoulder?" He asked, walking closer to you.
"A robot, sir!!" You exclaimed, looking at him dead in the eyes.
"And why is that robot with you when you're about to go into the simulator?" He now stood fully in front of you.
"She's programmed to follow me wherever I go, sir!" You replied.
"You know darned well pets aren't allowed here!" He yelled louder. You sucked in a deep breath.
"I KNOW DAMN WELL PETS AREN'T ALLOWED HERE! THAT'S WHY I DON'T HAVE ANY! IF I WANTED A PET, I WOULD'VE CONTACTED YOU!!!!" You shouted even louder. Hands slapped against people's mouths from shock. Iverson's jaw had dropped open.
"Well, if you wish to be flunked like the other non-disciplinary cadets, then BE MY GUEST!" He shouted close to your face. You saluted with a smirk, staring at him right in his beady little eyes.
"YOUR WISH IS MY COMMAND. GOODBYE ALL OF YOU, AND FUCK ALL OF Y'ALL, I NEVER LIKED YOU PEOPLE ANYWAYS!" You turned and walked out of the room, holding up both of your middle fingers.
~
You were in your shared room putting all your stuff together to leave when a knock interrupted you. You turned around and walked towards the door. You opened it. On the other side of it was Pidge.
"Pidge? What's up?" You asked curiously, looking down at the short female. Yes, you knew, you're not dumb, but Pidge doesn't know you know. So you figured she'd be mad and didn't tell her you knew.
"I was wondering if you'd go up to the roof with me," she replied. You thought for a moment before shrugging.
"Alright, let's go," you agreed, whistling at P/n to follow you. You both exited your room and headed towards the roof. It was a nice night. Not too hot, not too cold. The sky was clear, allowing you to see the stars better. Pidge then started to set up some complicated tech. Right there. On the roof.
"Here," she said, offering you a pair of headphones. You accepted and slipped them on, waiting till Pidge was done. As soon as she was set up, there was static, but you heard communications. From aliens. Your eyes widened at the familiar words.
'Voltron? No way...' You thought, tilting your head up so you were looking at the sky. P/n whimpered and pawed at your jaw.
"Yeah... I am too..." You whispered back.
"You trying to rock out?"
"GAH!" You screamed, accidentally jerking off the headphones and barely catching them. "Lance, quit being an asshole!" You crossed your arms. He just laughed.
"Yeah, but you love me," he replied confidently. You raised a brow at him. "Where'd you even get this stuff? It doesn't look like Garrison tech." Lance directed that towards Pidge.
"I built it," Pidge replied with a smug smirk as Hunk attempted to touch it.
"You built all of this?" Hunk asked, slithering closer.
"Stop it." Pidge slapped Hunk's hand away. "With this thing, I can scan all the way to the edge of the solar system." She was very proud of her work as Hunk slowly slithered away.
"That right? All the way to Kerberos?" Lance asked, puting his fingers to his chin.
"Lance," you said warningly. He immediately raised his hands in defense.
"He goes ballistic every time the instructors bring it up. What's your deal?" Lance defended. At the corner of your eye, you saw Hunk trying to touch the equipment again.
"Second warning, Hunk!" Pidge exclaimed to Hunk, who just groaned in response.
"Look Pidge, if we're going to bond as a team, we can't have any secrets," Lance explained.
"Fine," Pidge conceded, "The world as you know it is about to change." She sighed.
"The Kerberos Mission wasn't lost because of some malfunction or crew mistake—stOP TOUCHING MY EQUIPMENT," Pidge shouted. Hunk withered to the ground. "So I've been scanning the system and picking up alien radio chatter." Hunk immediately sat up.
"Whoa. What? Aliens?" He asked.
"Okay, so, you're insane. Got it." Lance deadpanned.
"No, Pidge isn't wrong, or insane. I'm hearing it too," You defended, glancing over at Pidge.
"They keep repeating one word, Voltron," she said, picking up a notepad and showing them a poorly drawn Voltron. "And tonight, it's going crazier than I have ever heard it."
"Attention, students. This is not a drill. We are on lockdown! Security situation Zulu Niner. Repeat: all students are to remain in barracks until further notice."
"Well I guess we don't count," you said, looking over at P/n.
"What's going on? Is that a meteor?" Hunk asked, looking up st the sky. You looked up as well and saw something falling from the sky, ablaze. "A very, very big meteor?"
"No... that's..." You trailed off, but no one noticed. Pidge immediately grabbed binoculars. She looked through them.
"It's a ship," she said calmly before yelping when Lance snatched them from her. He looked through them up at the sky.
"Holy crow! I can't believe what I'm seeing! That's not one of ours," Lance exclaimed.
"No, it's one of theirs," you corrected, coming to stand next to Lance.
"So, wait, there really are aliens out there?" Hunk asked as it crashed into the earth, causing an explosion to go off. Multiple vehicles had started to drive to that location.
"We've got to see that ship!" Pidge exclaimed, turning and running off of the roof.
"Hunk, come on!" Lance exclaimed, running with Pidge and you.
~
You four were on a ridge looking down at where the ship had crashed, seeing all different vehicles there already.
"Woah... what the heck is that thing?" Lance asked, looking through the binoculars. He then moved his head. "And who the heck is she?" He stared at a female soldier.
"Lance," you hissed, elbowing him sharply.
"Ow!" He exclaimed, lowering the binoculars to hold his throbbing rib cage. "Right, alien ship. Man, we'll never get past all of those guards to get a look." Lance looked back through the binoculars.
"No kiddin," you added as P/n yipped in agreement.
"Awe man. Yeah, yeah, I guess there's nothing to do but head back to the barracks, right?" Hunk asked, already beginning to walk away.
"Hunk, get the shit over here," your voice boomed. He didn't even wait a second before he plopped back down on the ground.
"Wait. They set up a camera in there and I grabbed its feed. Look!" Pidge said. The three of you huddled around her and saw a strapped down man on a table.
"Hey! What are you doing?"
"Calm down Shiro, we just need to keep you quarantined until we run some tests."
"You have to listen to me! They destroy worlds! Aliens are coming!"
Your eyes widened.
"That's Shiro! The pilot of the Kerberos Mission! That guy's my hero!" Lance exclaimed.
"Guess he's not dead in space, after all," Hunk added.
"Where's the rest of the crew?" Pidge asked.
"Do you know how long you've been gone?"
"I don't know. Months? Years? Look, there's no time. Aliens are coming here for a weapon. They're probably on their way. They'll destroy us. We have to find Voltron."
"Voltron!" Pidge exclaimed.
'No... he's not...' You thought, staring at the screen.
"Sir, take a look at this."
"It appeares his arm has been replaced with a cyborg prosthetic."
"Put him under until we know what that thing can do."
"No, no, don't put me under! No! There's no time! Let me go!"
"They didn't ask about the rest of the crew," Pidge realized.
"What are they doing? He's a legend. They're not even gonna listen to him?" Lance asked, disbelief written all over his face.
"We have to get him out," you added.
"I hate to be the voice of reason, always, but weren't we watching on TV because there was no way to get past the guards?" Hunk asked, standing up.
"True, but that was before we a had a reason," you replied, giving him a blank stare.
"We've just got to think. Could we tunnel in?" Lance asked.
"Maybe we could get some hazmat suits and sneak in like med techs," Pidge suggested.
"Or we dress up like cooks, head back to the dorms, sneak into the commissary—little late-night snack," Hunk suggested.
"No. What we need is a distraction," Lance brushed off. As if answering your prayers, another explosion went off. The three of them exclaimed in shock while you just stared at it.
"Is that the aliens? Is that the aliens? Are they here? They got here so quick!" Hunk shouted.
"No, those explosions were a distraction for him. The Garrison's headed towards the blast and he's sneaking in from the other side," Pidge replied, gazing down at a figure on a motorcycle, and pointing. Lance placed the binoculars over his eyes again.
"No way! Oh, he is not going to beat us in there! That guy is always trying to one-up me!" Lance exclaimed, but you were already sliding down before him.
"P/n, you see him? That's the guy who I was talking to you about," you said to her. The others slid down behind you. You were running, but somehow Lance had passed you. "Damn you..." You picked up your pace. However, you stopped and looked at where the explosions happened, letting Pidge and Hunk pass you. You saw that they were checking it out, but realized there was nothing important or threatening. You saw them turn around and began to make their way back towards you guys.
"Shit," you cursed, running towards where the others were. You stopped in the doorway where you met Keith's eyes. You quickly averted your gaze to the others, noticing his eyes widen. "Don't mean to interrupt your friendly reunion, but if you don't mind, we need to haul ass!" You grabbed Pidge and Hunk by their scruffs, and forcibly dragging them out of the pod, or whatever it was. You all then arrived at Keith's hovercycle.
"Uh, do you mind if we catch a ride with you?" Hunk asked, already getting on the bike. You hopped behind where Keith was sitting and everyone else hopped on the back. Then it jerked backwards when Hunk sat on it, causing your face to go dead smack into Keith's back. You rubbed your nose and apologized before turning your head.
"Hunk! If you're going to sit your ass down on something, do it slower!" You exclaimed back to him.
"Sorry!" Hunk exclaimed.
"Is this thing going to be big enough for all of us?" Pidge asked.
"No," Keith bluntly replied. Your attention was then drawn to the vehicles whose lights were shining straight at you.
"Who the fuck cares how big this bike is, I really don't want to deal with interrogations—LANCE SIT CORRECTLY OR YOU'RE BEING THROWN OFF!!!"
"YES MA'AM!"
Keith revved up the hovercyle and turned the other way, flying away.
"Why am I holding this guy?" Pidge asked, holding Shiro under the arms.
"Hey, we did all fit," Hunk said.
"Can't this thing go any faster?" Lance asked, noticing the vehicles catching up.
"We could toss out some non-essential weight," Keith suggested.
"Just focus on driving!" You hissed. P/n yipped. Either in excitement or anxiety, you couldn't tell.
"Big man, lean left!" Keith said to Hunk. He did as told and the bike automatically went that way, causing the vehicles to crash into each other.
"HOLY SHIT!" You exclaimed, almost being tossed off had you not of grabbed onto Keith's arms and P/n also had to claw into your shirt. Keith tensed up from the sudden action.
"ONCE AGAIN, SOFTER!" You shouted, letting go of Keith's arms. P/n yipped.
"Aw man! Mr. Harris just wiped out Professor Montgomery! No, no. He's fine," Hunk said.
"HUNK I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!!"
"IM SORRY, I GET DISTRACTED EASILY!!!"
"Big man, lean right!" Keith shouted in your ear, causing you to flinch a bit. He obeyed and the bike flew off of one cliff, over a ravine, and to the other side. Everyone behind you screamed wildly, while you were just trying not to get thrown off. The vehicles did the same, but one crashed shortly after.
"Guys? I-is-is t-th-that a cliff up ahead?" Hunk asked, pointing in front of you all.
"Oh no, no, no!" Lance stammered. Keith leaned forwards, a smirk playing at his lips.
"Yup," he said simply.
"Oh ho, this is gonna be SICK!" You shouted, having no choice but to lean forwards and wrap your arms around his waist with P/n yipping like the precious pupper she is. Keith tensed and glanced back at you, but averted his attention back to the front. The bike flew off the cliff with everyone screaming. You laughed, enjoying the feel of wind blowing in your face, forgetting the fact you were still latched onto Keith.
"What are you doing? You're going to kill us all!" Lance exclaimed.
"Shut up and trust me!" He exclaimed, nose diving towards the ground. He flexed the peddles, causing the bike to shift upwards and keep going straight.
~
You, Hunk, Lance, and Pidge were in Keith's small house in the middle of no where.
"Wasn't that bike ride fun?" You asked, sitting on the couch.
"Are you kidding? He almost killed us!" Lance exclaimed. You rolled your eyes and waved him off.
"Yeah, but he didn't," you retorted. Keith and Shiro walked in after excusing themselves earlier. You immediately stood up. Keith walked up to the cloth that was hanging off the wall and yanked it off, revealing a map, and several other pictures.
"What have you been working on?" Shiro asked.
"I can't explain it, really. After getting booted from the Garrison I was kind of lost and found myself drawn out to this place. It's like something... some energy, was telling me to search." Keith replied.
"For what?" Shiro inquired.
"Well, I didn't really know at the time... until I stumbled across this area," Keith replied, placing his hand on a location. "It's an outcropping of giant boulders with caves covered in these ancient markings. Each tells a slightly different story about a blue lion, but they all share clues leading to some event, some arrival happening last night." You ignored all word exchanges and walked up to the board, looking at the pictures Keith had pinned up. P/n yipped from your shoulder.
'The blue lion. Incredible... I never realized it was on earth... King Alfor must've hid them away from...'
"Y/n, right?"
Your thoughts were interrupted. You turned your head and saw Shiro holding out his hand to you.
"I'm Shiro," he said. You grabbed his hand and shook it.
"Nice to meet you. How do you know my name?" You asked.
"Keith told me," he replied nonchalantly.
"Oh... so he was talking about me?" You inquired while raising a brow.
"Pfft, please. It's hard to not talk about you," Lance scoffed. Shiro tilted his head and leaned forwards.
"If you don't mind me asking. What happened to your eye? It looks like a prosthetic," he asked. You nervously laughed, rubbing your neck.
"Ah, yeah... accident when I was younger," you replied before turning your head back to the board.
"Y/n? Something wrong?" Hunk asked.
"Keith? Do you know where this is?" You asked, turning your head towards him.
"Yeah, why?"
You looked at the board, then at him, then at P/n.
"Guys. We're going on a road trip," you said with a smile.
