Chapter Two

"Can you not?" Harrison muttered at his phone. It had been vibrating all throughout class, almost getting him in trouble. Now that class was over, he could actually check them. He had an idea of who they were from...
... And he was right. He read over the texts with a sigh, typing out a reply.
Harrison: Nerris, I told you I had classes!
Nerris: Lol my bad
Harrison: I can talk now. What's up?
Nerris: Hold on...
The strawberry blond huffed and slid his key card into the dorm's slot. He was relieved to see Neil wasn't there yet. The boys hadn't had a single class together so far. He knew if he had even one class with the nerd, he'd fall for him again. He winced at the memories.
It would be a disaster.
The phone went off again and he picked it up, frustrated.
(Nerris added Preston to the chat)
Nerris: There we go!
Harrison: Ok, now what's so important?
Preston: Important? Is that why I'm here?
Nerris: Yeah...
Nerris: Nikki took me to meet her parents.
Preston: Really? Wow!
Harrison: Did it go well?
Nerris: Besides the fact she got kicked out of her house, yes
He let out a sigh. Things were going wrong for everyone today, weren't they?
The door slowly swung opened and he glanced at it from over his phone. Neil came in, looking exhausted. He debated if he should say anything.
"How was class?" he asked carefully.
His younger roommate narrower his eyes at him. "Alright. Yours?"
"Still being hostile, huh?" The magic lover noticed. He bit the inside of his cheek, trying not to smirk. "I like it."
"Pretty well. Do you have any more classes today?"
"Just one," the brunet answered, smoothing down his bed sheets. "Personal Finance."
Harrison stiffened. "That's what I have next, too."
Neil cursed under his breath before laying down on the bed. He rubbed his temples. "Great, you'll add on to my headache."
He bit back a harsh remark. "What else did you expect, Harrison?" he scolded himself.
"I'll try not to," he said quietly. Neil rolled his eyes and shuffled through his bag. He pulled out a bottle of aspirin.
The strawberry blond returned to his texts, telling Nerris he felt bad about the incident. He put the phone down and chewed on his bottom lip, thinking. With a frustrated groan, he let his head hit the pillow.
"What's up with you?" He heard the voice, but chose to ignore it. He heard shuffling from the other side if the room.
"Seriously, are you good?" Neil sounded slightly concerned. "Not that I care much or anything," he quickly added. Harrison rolled his eyes.
"I'm fine. Just tired," he mumbled.
The worry left his voice and he grew stern. "Well, hurry up with that nap, because class starts in five minutes and I'm not waiting for you."
The illusionist flinched as his roommate slammed the door. He sat up reluctantly, running his hand through his hair. "What's gotten into him?" He got up and grabbed what he needed for class. "And more importantly, what's gotten into me?"
