Chapter Twenty-One
"She stopped texting me, if it makes you feel any better," the scientist murmured. Harrison felt the bed dip some and glanced over. Neil sat on the edge of it, looking exhausted. He grabbed onto the other's arm and pulled him down.
The brunet laid down without arguing. "Want me to talk to her?" He heard his lover ask. Sighing, he closed his eyes.
"No. Max is supposed to talk to her later." He felt the magician shuffle closer and rolled over to face him. "Thanks for the offer, though."
"Anything for you," he purred. The younger opened his eyes and gave him a concerned look. "Please tell me murder isn't one of them."
"Of course not," he scoffed. "I'd cover for you, though."
"Harrison!"
"He laughed and drew Neil closer. "Calm down, neither of us could kill anything... Well, I'll kill your innocence if you want me to."
"Dammit-" the scholar huffed before pulling him into a kiss. It was short, but bliss. He pulled back and shot the older a glare. "It's hard not to enjoy remarks like that from you."
"We're dating. You're allowed to enjoy them," the strawberry blond stated.
"Yeah, but I'm not ready for... That, yet."
Harrison gave him a quick peck. "I get it. But that shouldn't stop you from liking my perverted comments."
"But they turn me on!" Neil blurted out. He slapped a hand over his mouth. "Shit. That wasn't supposed to come out."
He stole a glance at his boyfriend. The illusionist's eyes were wide open and his cheeks were dusted pink. His voice was quiet and uncertain. "Do... Do they really?"
He nodded slowly, looking away out of embarrassment. He felt two fingers under his chin and let the magic lover turn his head. The taller male was smirking. "I'll have to keep that in mind for later, then."
"Do you want me to slap you?"
"No, I want you to let me slap Tabii."
He rolled his eyes and moved back some. "Look, Max is going to tell her off later, m'kay? If she doesn't listen, then you can. Deal?"
Harrison bit his lip. "...Deal."
