Chapter 21
"We have nothing to talk about," Kaira huffed. "Nothing."
"Now I don't think that's necessarily true, is it," Satsuki smirked. "I'm just here to talk, that's all."
"Right.. and I'm sure you have no motives behind it."
"My motive is good for you," Satsuki told her. "I've got a warning for you... don't destroy those Grand Stars."
"I'd like to get free, y'know," Kaira reminded her, despite her personal feelings of not wanting to let Satsuki loose. "But-"
"We're the same person. You know the risks," Satsuki reminded her. "Are you really going to risk letting me loose?"
"I figured you would want me to destroy them," Kaira responded. "Why wouldn't you want to destroy the world?"
"Silly," Satsuki laughed. "My home's here. My family's here. I have no need to leave... and neither do you. You don't want to leave, do you?"
"...I..." Kaira looked away. She didn't want to agree with her counterpart, but the problem was, she didn't want to go. Saiko was the only reason... "No, I don't want to. But Saiko does. That should mean something to you, doesn't it?"
"Of course it does," Satsuki looked offended that she wouldn't. "I want what she wants. The problem lies with the fact that I will destroy everything and you know it. At that point, it's not even about what I want. Put me around that many people, and all that innocence, and... hehe.. oh.. I want it back. Besides, I'm not about to lose this prison to some bratty child."
"Your younger self would've been friends with Daisy."
"My younger self was friends with a lot of people," Satsuki reminded her. "Even, if you remember, that green haired boy. Well, at least, I tried."
"Fair enough. But we're different now, and you know that. Now, you're..."
"Frightening. Evil."
"Desperate," Kaira finished. "For what, exactly? As if I don't already know."
"You said you know, so why make me say it?" Satsuki countered. "Oh, well. I just want everything to go back to how it was before..."
Satsuki's voice trailed off into the distance, and Kaira found herself enveloped in another memory.
Saiko opened the door slowly, and immediately purple eyes glared at her. It was the purple haired girl- and her gaze was so menacing that Satsuki wanted to shrivel up into a corner. But Saiko wasn't afraid.
"What do you want?" She snarled. "Go away."
"Who is it," Killia called from inside. "And don't be so rude."
"It's the warden's kids. And her friends."
"Well, shit, invite em in," Killia rolled her eyes, standing up and opening it for them. "Hi."
"Hi," Satsuki chirped. "Nice to meet you."
"Same... but why are you here?"
"Well, we wanna meet everyone!" Satsuki smiled. "I've never gone out of this prison, so... it's nice to make new friends!"
"Oh..." Killia nodded sympathetically. "Well, my name's Killia. The nasty tempered one over there is Utari."
"I do not have a nasty temper," Utari snapped. "...only when people deserve it."
"Which is always, in your terms," Killia sighed. "Anyway. Who are all you?"
"Satsuki..." Kaira glanced at her counterpart. "I know that-"
"No, you don't know anything," Satsuki shook her head. "You know what hurts most? Being stripped of my rages, my power. The fact that it was ordered by those I love most. You understand that, don't you? We are still the same person, of course. You're just me when I'm not feeling murderous."
"I-"
"Are you really going to try to leave this place, when all we have left in this world is Saiko? And even if you don't think so, Rosalina and Mario?"
"Satsuki-"
"And don't forget, i will destroy everything, including those we love," Satsuki told her. "Is that really what you want? To leave this place, after everything we've been through?"
"That's enough-"
"Oh, right... it isn't," Satsuki smirked. "I know. You don't have to lie. We're the same person, after all. I know what you're thinking. You don't want to leave the place we were born, do you?"
"...no, I don't..."
"So... don't. Leave the stars alone. Don't take our home from us."

"MARIOOOO!"
It had been silent in the prison until Saiko screamed for the mastermind behind it all.
From then on, silence wouldn't exist for a while.
"What do you want, Saiko?" The mustached man yawned. "I've got some things to do-"
"Satsuki's missing!" Saiko narrowed her eyes at the man. "Do you know where she could be-"
"She's... missing?"
"She's gone! She got sucked into some black tentacle thingy, and now she-"
"Oh geez," Mario facepalmed. "Of all people to get stuck in something like that... it's probably someone's power going wack."
"H-how are we going to get her back?" Saiko trembled like a small child at the thought of never seeing Kaira again.
"I'll work on it, I promise. There's no way this prison will run without her."

"I haven't found anything!" Daisy exclaimed in frustration. "Ugh, this is so...grr!"
"It is rather annoying..." Rosalina admitted. "We've searched just about everywhere... and still.."
"Well, we haven't checked the prisoner's cells," Luigi pointed out. "But we have no way of getting in there..."
"Not until Saiko or Kaira come back," Toadette reminded them. "It's still important to note that we found nothing outside of the cells, which means they're probably in the rooms."
"True, true," Daisy nodded. "We gotta look on the positive side."
"There is no positive side until he is dead..." Rosalina muttered. "He deserves worse than death.."
"Well, you're not wrong there," Toadette agreed. "He'll get what's coming to him."
"W-wait... you guys are... going to kill Mario?" Luigi stared at them in shock. "He's..."
"Oh, Luigi..."
"He's my brother," Luigi whispered, running his hands through his hair. "He doesn't deserve death."
"He betrayed me... and threw me in here," Rosalina argued. "He very well... deserves death."
"He took care of me, and raised me... he's not a horrible person. He-"
"I know him better than you do..." Rosalina narrowed her eyes. "He's done bad for things... and it's time for him to atone."
"Oh, yeah? I'm sure you've done things just as bad. What excuses your behavior?"
"Well you know, you've done some bad things too," Satsuki fires back. "So maybe you don't deserve a friend, either!"
Rosalina gasped as the small redhead stormed away.
"Satsuki Kaira Reiko, you get back here!"
"Make me!"
Rosalina chuckled softly from the repetition of how things were going right now..
"Maybe I have done some bad things.." Rosalina told him. "My atonement is me being here..."
"Doesn't seem too bad. We're all here too," Luigi crossed his arms. "If you guys are going to try and kill my brother, good luck. Because I'm not going to help you anymore."
Oh, and to clear things up: this is how Satsuki/Kaira works. Kaira is still Satsuki, just without murderous rages. They're still the technical same person and they're not two different entities, but when she's Kaira, she just has different feelings towards things. It's because of the Grand Stars- her power and rage is kept inside of them. The more they are destroyed, the more Satsuki comes out.
Question of the chapter: do you feel bad for Satsuki/Kaira?
Guys, I've got an obsession. Ya'll are gonna hate me so much XD let's just say that you guys are going to be in a lot of despair.
