Crying
Ahmad was sitting on the road remembering what just happened.
Doctors and nurses rushing from the door. They got him out and started whispering. He tried to see what they were doing through the window but all he could see was a blurted image of his only family on the bed... His mother.
Tears flooding down his cheeks and neck, he felt that something bad was happening to his mother. The nurse just said to let her sleep for some time. But now it has been more than a day and she didn't wake up yet. And no one cared about him. No one asked him if he was fine. No one asked him if he was hungry. No one seemed to pay any attention to him.
His heart was bleeding. He missed his mother terribly. No one had ever shown any concern about him like she did. No one was able to take care of him like she did. Shortly said... No one was like his mother.
He decided to go back to the nurse again and ask her if he can see his mother. When he raised his head to get up, he saw a girl of his age handing him a chocolate. His favorite. But he refused. He didn't feel like eating anything.
Pulling her blouse he kept asking after his mother and whether he can see her. She kneeled in front of him with a huff and semi yelled at him that his mother was still sleeping and that she'd call him when she wakes up. He kept asking of he can see her and hug her to wake her up. She refused harshly and told him to stay out of the hospital.
He ran out in tears. He missed his mother terribly and no one could understand this ever. If even nurses who were supposed to be the nicest people on earth were rude to him, who'd be nicer than his mother?
Sa'd was standing in the middle of the corridor staring mindlessly at the 5 year old boy who just got out of the hospital. He recalled the scene that took place in front of him. Just when he thought of speaking to that nurse she approached him asking him if he needed any help.
"What's the story of that child?" he asked not removing the frown.
"Which ... Oh! He just kept asking after his mother since yesterday and it's getting annoying... "
He cut her off her nonchalant statement and asked after the child's mother.
" She passed away yesterday and..."
"And her son has no idea of this! He has the right to know what's going on with his mother! And..."
She cut him off huffing. She was getting irritated. Who was he to tell her what to do or not when she was one of the best nurses according to the head of the hospital?
"Okay then go and make him understand!"
"Don't worry if nurses here don't know how to do their job, I know mine by heart."
Glancing at the playing area to check on his niece once more, he headed towards the little boy.
"Hey buddy! Wanna be..."
"Leave me alone!" Ahmad yelled.
"Okay then. I'll leave you alone but only if you take this."
Ahmad looked up at the man and saw him handing a chocolate. The same chocolate that little girl handed him minutes ago.
"I don't want it!"
"Fine then. Mind me sitting here?"
"I just want my mom!"
"Your mom is in a better place now. You know..."
"I just want to see her!"
Sa'd sighed. This little boy is so stubborn.
"Okay I'll take you to her. But first tell me your name."
"Ahmad." He answered as he stood up and wiped his tears.
"Nice to meet you captain Ahmad. I'm Sa'd." Sa'd smiled while stretching his hand to Ahmad.
Ahmad didn't know why the man was giving him his hand but decided to take it in his. As they got in the hospital Sa'd checked on his niece one more time before following Ahmad's indications to go to his mother's room.
As they reached the elevator, Sa'd kneeled in front of the boy.
"You're the captain right?" He asked to which Ahmad slightly nodded. " Good. This means that no matter what happens you have to remain strong."
"No. This is not because I'm a captain. Mom always says that no matters what happens it's the will of Allah and we have to accept it. Now Where's mom?"
"For you to tell me. Where's her room?"
"But you said she's in a better place now."
Sa'd smiled. At least he got to hear something nice from the boy.
"What did your mom tell you about Allah?"
"She said that if we are nice and patient he'll get us in jannah. And if we're rude and mean he'll get us in Hell fire."
"Hm... And..."
Before he could think of a way to tell him about his mother he heard him say.
"Mom won't wake up will she?"
The excitement in his voice when he stated this made Sa'd curious.
"What makes you think this?"
"Because when I asked mom about when we'll meet Allah she said when one will sleep and won't wake up. So..."
This made Sa'd's smile even wider.
"But I wanted to tell her about the rude nurse before she meets him. And mom will sure go to paradise."
"Why?"
"Because she was nice to me and patient. Whenever she called me and I asked her to wait she waited all the time I take to come."
Sa'd's eyes filled with unsched tears. This boy was young and innocent yet he had to taste the harshness of life. It was too early for him to face all of this.
By the time, they reached the room. And Ahmad insisted that he came in with him. He could not refuse and was glad he did not when he saw the woman laying on the bed. It was one of his classmates back in high school.
"Can she hear me?"
This question snapped Sa'd out of his memories.
"Of course. Tell her anything you wanna tell."
So the little boy started talking and talking to his mother.
Taking the occasion, Sa'd got out of the room and called his sister to share his morning with her and tell her that he's bringing Ahmad with him.

"What's your name?" Shada asked the boy who was in the car with them.
"Captain Ahmad."
Sa'd smiled as he glanced at the children from the rearviewer. They got along with each other easily.
Alhamdulillah... He thought.
They were heading home after Sa'd had given up on the job he wanted to apply for. There was no way he was going to work with such people.
When they arrived home, his twin sister was wait for them at the door. After hugging her daughter she kneeled in front of their little guest. After questioning him about his well-being she introduced herself and let them in.

After praying, Sa'd remained sitting on his mat and raised his hands. He prayed for the child, for his mother, for all mankind and he didn't forget to pray for peace in the world.
After folding the prayer mat he took a decision and promised himself that no matter what'd happen next he'll take care of the orphan he just brought home. He'd raise him as his own child. He'd educate him like he knew his mother wanted to educate her children. He'd take care of him like no one has before.

Here's the first story. Hope you enjoyed reading as I enjoyed writing.
Orphans, and children in general are the most important to me. We have to take care of them as much as possible and try to push the possible part as far as possible.
Orphans are the best example to tell that we should care for our parents and value every single thing on them before it's too late.
